INDICTED AIG MD ABUBAKAR MAY REPLACE RINGIM
Font size: 23/01/2012 22:20:00

Mohammed Abubakar, an Assistant Inspector General of police, in charge of Zone 12, Bauchi who allegedly masterminded the killings of Christians in Jos may replace out-going Inspector General of Police, Hafiz Ringim, Pointblanknews.com has learnt.

Abubakar is one of the many AIG’s who is being considered for the top cop job as Ringim’s removal draws near.

A Justice Niki Tobi panel constituted in September 2001 by former Governor Joshua Dariye on the Jos crisis had recommended the retirement MD Abubakar from the Police force

In a White Paper released in Jos, the panel suggested that Abubakar should be dismissed if he refuses to retire.

The panel said: "Religious fanatics should not be posted to head state police commands. The commission recommends that for his ignoble role during the September 2001 crisis which resulted in the loss of lives, the former Commissioner of Police, Plateau State Command, Alhaji M.D. Abubakar, be advised to retire from the Nigeria Police Force and in the event of his refusal to do so, he should be dismissed from the service."

Abubakar from Zamfara State who was indicted twice between 2004 and 2006 by a Jos crises Panel, is alleged to have sponsored some Islamist Militant Group when he was Commissioner of Police in Bauchi and Plateau States, according to Pointblanknews.com sources.

Pointblanknews.com gathered that already, the presidency has commenced search for Ringim replacement and has interviewed few top police officers, which includes MD Abubakar.

More AIG’s have also been lined up for interview in the coming days.

Sources hinted that the Presidency is seriously considering an immediate replacement for Ringim and all other security chiefs who have been found to have covertly supported the activities of Boko Haram in the country.

Meanwhile, following the precarious security situation in the country and the last week massacre in Kano by Boko Haram, top management team of the Nigeria Police Force headed by Hafiz Ringim had a closed-door meeting for six hours in Abuja.

The agenda of the meeting, which started at about 10:am and ended at about 4:30pm, was not disclosed as at Press time.

All Deputy Inspector Generals of Police (DIGs) and the Force Secretary were in attendance at the meeting, which took place at the IGP’s conference room of the Louis Edet House of the Police Headquarters in Abuja.

It was also learnt that President Goodluck Jonathan had mandated all the security agencies to fish out the perpetrators of the last week Kano explosions without delay.

Deputy Force Public Relations Officer (DFPRO) of the Police Oluyemi Ajayi while justifying the reasons for the closed-door meeting said it’s a routine management meeting in the Police.

He said the meeting was aimed at assessing the past performance of the Force and planning for future operational strategies.

MD Abubakar is for now the ACTING IGP. RINGIM was not sacked but has proceeded on a normal terminal leave in preparation for retirement.
If what i am hearing about MD Abubakar being indicted in the past on grounds of tolerating religious fanatism, then here we go again, back to square 1.

All, just learnt that the said officer in the report was Abubakar Mohammed the current AIG in kano zone 5, and not MD Abubaka who prior to his appoint was AIG zone 2 Lagos then Zone 12 Bauchi, The Present IG when he served as a commissioner in Lagos when Okiro was IG and later rose to AIG in Lagos zone 2, He is a popular cop and I had tot the nation should have done a good research before rushing to press. The other is still in Kano and was touched by the Friday bombing, Still lying critical, couldn't have been walking so soon."

Let's take a chill pill y'all. Mr Abubakar was appointed in acting capacity. This is only a stop-gap solution while the search for a more competent person is found. With the much I have read about him, it is doubtful this man will make much difference in the current fight against islamic terrorism. So let us hold our collective breath for now. Remember the same thing happened at EFCC after Ribadu was sent away. First we got Ibrahim Lamorde in acting capacity, then Farida Waziri came along - regretably I must add. Hope the final outcome is better this time around.

I envy neither Ringim nor Abubarkar

I think Ringim is the looser here.

Boko Boys bombed his house in Kano last friday
Nigerians fried his AXXX for days after he disappeared Z. Biu
He lost his Job on Wednesday.
He still remains on Boko boys gun sight. (Of course, they have to revenge for their harams Ringim fell)  wink

Abubakar
should bomb proof his house cause Boko boys will soon lay siege on it.
Nigerians will soon find reasons to fry his AXXX
Boko Boys have now realigned their bombs on him (to revenge the harams he will eventually fall) tongue

The man, MD Abubakar
By Chris Anucha
The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 12, Bauchi, Mohammed Dikko Abubakar, popularly known as ‘MD Abubakar’ has been appointed as the acting Inspector General of Police. Born on May 5, 1958, MD Abubakar hails from Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State. He enlisted into the Force as a Cadet Inspector on August 1, 1979.

The acting IGP, who holds Diploma in Administration and Criminology, has meritoriously served the Nigeria Police in many capacities. Important positions he held in the force include, Assistant Commissioner of Police, State CID, Sokoto Police Command; Assistant Commissioner of Police, Federal Operations, Force Headquarters, Lagos; and Assistant Commissioner of Police, Airport Police Command (MMIA), Lagos. The Acting IG is a committed Crime Fighter (Operational Man) who served as Deputy Commissioner of Police (Administration), Lagos State Police Command.

On his elevation to the position of Commissioner of Police, he served as a substantive Commissioner of Police in charge of many Police Commands across the Federation. Some of these are: Plateau, Abia, Kwara, Kano, Airport and Lagos State Police Commands. Abubakar, while a Police Commissioner in Lagos, was in the habit of paying surprise visits to Commands and Divisional Headquarters at very odd hours. He was also noted for patrolling the city at nights in unofficial vehicles. Sometimes, he disguised himself to be able to catch his men in the act.

An amiable and intelligent officer, he was promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) and he subsequently became the AIG in charge of Zone 2, comprising Lagos and Ogun States. He was also the AIG Zone 5, Benin, comprising of Edo, Delta and Bayelsa States. He was later posted to Zone 6, comprising Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Ebonyi States.
A detribalized Nigerian, before his appointment MD Abubakar is currently AIG in charge of Zone 12, Bauchi.

RESUME OF NEW IG MD ABUBAKAR! Born in Gusau, Zamfara State in May 5th. 1958. Elisted in Nigeria Police in July 30th 1979. Due for retirement on 30th July 2014. He was indicted over Jos unrest in 2001 and recommended for outright DISMISSAL in 2002. Education qualification: Diploma in Public Admin/Criminal Justice. He became AIG Zone 12, Bauchi on 15 Nov 2011. Courtesy The Streetjournal Magazine. ww, w.thestreetjournal.org . The Justice Niki Tobi panel constituted in September 2001 by former Governor Joshua Dariye on the Jos crisis recommended the retirement MD Abubakar from the Police force. He was with Zakari Biu in d airport bomb cover up during Abacha era. D blast that killed Dr Omoshola.( Biu is the CP that Sokoto the Madalla christmas bomber escape from as when he was d CP)

In a White Paper released in Jos, the panel suggested that AIG Abubakar should be dismissed if he refuses to retire.

As Nigeria is facing attack by Boko Haram what do we expect by such a fanatic? What script does he has? Let's shine our eyes

Ive got a few observations on the appointment of MD Abubakar and the formation of a police reform committee headed by PSC chairman - Osayande.

1. Abati said the committee’s recommendations “shall be implemented along with those by previous committees set up by government on the reform of the police”. Yet a previous recommendation indicted the man you have appointed Acting IG and also recommended him for retirement. How are we sure you will implement the recommendations by this committee?

2. I have 2 points against the appointment of Osayande to head the committee to reform the police - "Osayande, it will be recalled, presided over the PSC to rubberstamp the dismissal of former chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, from the police." and "PSC, under Osayande, also reinstated Mr. Zakari Biu to the police and promoted him to Commissioner of Police (CP) last year. Biu is currently on suspension over Sokoto’s escape from under his watch as CP in charge of criminal investigations, Zone 7." This bring to question the competence of Osayande to deliver based on precedence".

3. Why appoint someone that was in charge of Bauchi - a crisis prone area, where under his leadership, we are still experiencing periodic bombings and has not demonstrated capacity to curtail BH? If he did not handle BH in Bauchi, how can he handle BH in Nigeria?

I wonder how these people think, God save Nigeria

Our cretinous President has shown again that he is a Silverback Gorilla.

He appoints someone that was labelled a bias religious fanatic and recommended to be sacked, by the Niki Tobi Commission on Jos, as acting IG. This is after another officer (Zakari Biu) with checkered history just let the leader of a religious terrorist organisation escape.

Furthermore, this foooooooooooooooooooooooool we have as President, appointed ex-DIG Osayande, that reinstated this same incompetent and sadistic Zakari Biu to the Police Force after being sacked, to head up a team to "reform" the police. What will such a dunce (Osayande) that brought nothing positive to his post as DIG and head of PSC bring that is fresh to the Police?

FRESH AIR!

Bloody fooooooooooooooools voted for a cretin!

I saw an interview on BBC's Hardtalk with one shehu sanni who called himself an activist, he was a boko haram rug rat. After the interview I came to realize no Northerner IGP could bring Boko Haram to book!
