buja, Nigeria’s political capital, has the second highest concentration of bank branches with just six percent of all bank branches. Rivers State, which could be classified as Nigeria’s oil capital, has the third highest concentration of bank branches with about 5 percent of all bank branches in the country.
Anambra State, the commercial hub of the South- East, has the fourth highest concentration of bank branches.

re-read the above.you told the house that anamabra state is second to lagos? my broda!

i have withdrawn the 'onuku' the moment i understood that you actually come from my state. but not the 'ingrate' because you are not lampooning your governor with proper facts and figures but rather sheer sentiments.

Re: I Won’t Run For Public Office Again – Peter Obi by MrGlobe(m): 5:37pm On Mar 27, 2012
Something to laugh about..... Teaching hospital completed is news to me. That so called teaching hospital was launched before uduagham of DELTA STATE launched theirs. Uduagham has since completed, commissioned anf forgot he built a teaching hospital under 4 years. Obi has yet to complete his after 6 years. You also need to google okey Ndibe's analysis of the teaching hospital. Why build a state secretariat for Anambra state if you want to make it crappy? Low budget and dirty? That secretariat is like a local government secretariat. You are indeed an apologist without points. Yes a state like Anambra deserves an airport. Andy uba already contracted it but your selfish and lootocratic governor cancelled it for no reasons. I dont have any explanations for you. Just continue posting and show the world how stup!d you are for trying to make yellow, red

Anambra is the third state with largest bank presence (considering abuja is not considered a state)..what difference does it make you Arrow??

kindly answer all the questions i asked..moreover it is very bad for you to say obi gave anambra a facelift...so what happened during ngige's tenure? ngige gave anambra a bodylift..i don't want to talk about that lost soul mbadinuju...he is not worthy of my insults.

I said it during d election dat Peter Obi was coming back 2 make money for his business. I campained seriously 4 soludo, but my pple nearly killed me 4 supporting him. I still maintain it again dat soludo is the solution to Anambra. We have seen d best of Ngige in Anambra. Even though Ngige was under serious pressure/trouble, he only gave us roads. Any fool can do roads. If u bring him back, he cannot do more dan he did in d past. He needed to win pple's support when the ubas were fighting him, dat was why he achieved (only on roads).

Soludo is d man we need in anambra, i so much believe in his ability 2 deliver on his promises, because he did it CBN. He promised 13points agenda in CBN and delivered on 12points, yaradua stopped the last point. If he could deliver on 12 of 13points, what made us believe dat he cannot turn anambra 2 DUBAI-TAIWAN he promised during his campaigns.

A good gorvernor is d one who identifies d potential of his state and developes it, just like Donald Duke turned Calabar to turist city out of nothing. Dis is what soludo meant when he said, he would turn anambra to DUBAI-TAIWAN of africa. The potential of anambra state is in commerce and industry. If any governor can develope this sector in anambra, the whole of africa will move towards anambra, just like nigerians are moving 2 calabar for turism. Dis is what soludo promised us, unfortunately, my pple could not see beyound thier nose.

Yes, he made a mistake in his oversight functions in d CBN, but dat's not enough to write him off and forget his achievements in d apex bank and d economy. Igbos, let's learn 2 celebrate our own. D truth is dat sanusi found his shoes too big 2 fit into and he decided to show d world where he(soludo)failed, unfortunately we bought into his tricks. No top leader is an angel in nigeria, even if u probe d likes of fasholas 2day, u'll hate all of dem.

Nigeria economy blosomed so much under OBJ because of soludo, iweala & a few others. I like to liken soludo & OBJ's relationship to dat of d bibilical Joseph & Pharoah. Soludo drew up nigeria economic developmental strategies(NEEDS) 4 OBJ and he employed him 2 come and implement.

Fellow anambarians, we have seen d best of ngige, peter obi has failed us, let's give soludo a chance come 2014!. I so much believe in he is d mesiah we need in anambra.

@Coolbet007
I'm yet to buy into Soludo's hype. I'm of the opinion that the devil I know is better than the angel I don't know. Peter Obi promised a lot and delivered virtually nothing. So I'll continue to stick with Dr. Chris Nwabueze Ngige. He's the only governor that actually performed in office. Remember that he built all those roads without the monthly allocation from the FG. He hardly discriminates between the state roads and federal roads. Actually I got to know all the federal roads during the early part of Obi's administration, grin
What else did Sullivan Chime achieve apart from roads construction? So it will be unfair to rate Sullivan favourably
while rating Ngige differently.
Peter Obi promised to fight crime with job. . . What happened?. . .Anambrarians got introduced to the phenomenon of kidnapping.
Crime rates actually fell down during Ngige administration. . . .I still wonder how he was able to achieve that feat in the absence of any security outfit.
So I wont buy into African-Dubai-Taiwan utopia of Soludo any time soon. We can't allow a sweet-talking politician to violate us again.
Re: I Won’t Run For Public Office Again – Peter Obi by MrGlobe(m): 7:31pm On Mar 27, 2012
Actually, I did not support Soludo in the election but everybody on this forum knows Mr. Globe heavily cautioned Anambrarians against voting an incompetent obi which they adhered to but where disenfranchised by obi the master rigger. I have sat back and thought it and realized I was not fair in no supporting Soludo. I have 'realized' that Soludo is a man that is in know of the defficient infrastructure in Anambra (He called Awka a glorified village) and is willing to tackle it. He is the kind of person to run giant projects that will give the state a facelift and also be on the economic side. Infrastructures like airports to expand and standardize the economic base. Road expansion and dualization, bridges for access expansion, SOLID health structures. I mean he is an economist and understands the importance of these for commerce. I sincerely dont see Ngige tackling that. Ngige has done his part with roads, he has been settled with senate. Andy Uba is also thankfully in the senate. The capital oil man will not be taken seriously so I believe it will be an easy ride for soludo in 2014. Anambra needs standard infrastructure!

archangel1: some nairalanders in this trend make me laugh. the man Peter obi, has a mission to fulfill in his state. he is laying fundamental developments -access roads to river-line areas, state teaching hospital, state secretariat, bridges linking agricultural based communities, interlinking rural roads etc- which his predecessors neglected over the decades.he is using ANIDS to effect all the sectors perhaps not to make cheap popularity(airport, street-lighting etc) to lay foundation for his successors. the problem with this man is that he is 'stingy'(prudence)and not sharing money to elites like his predecessors did.but the man is honestly performing. ANAMBRA STATE IS MOST DIFFICULT STATE TO BE GOVERNED IN NAIJA. IF you DOUBT , YOU RELOCATE.IF U DON'T SHARE THE MONEY , YOU ARE NOT PERFORMING.... SHIKENAN grin cheesy grin gringrin
you are 1000% correct cool cool

Haba AK!

Which General Hospital Onitsha are you talking about? undecided

Is it not the one at Awka Road besides
Guinness Specialist Eye Hospital?

Am I right?

The only facelift he gave to that hospital is the erection of a giant billboard in front of the hospital with his larger than life image interspersed with ANIDS propaganda.

The hospital is glorified primary health centre.

Doctors don't even have the basic equipment to work with. There is chronic shortage of drugs. Consultant/specialist don't work there because of inability of the state govt to pay them. Even though, Nigeria Medical Association, Onitsha chapter are using the uncompleted building in its vicinity as there meeting venue. The only services they offers mostly is maternity services.

Pls cite an example with hospital in the hinterland. Your spin here has hit a snag.

I laugh at the flower designs. grin

some people are indeed pathetic..so the only reason you are supporting yellow niggah is because he renovated the doctors qters of a general hospital?? shocked shocked

so thats his only achievement in your books...a renovated general hospital in 6 whole years... shocked shocked

Even Mbadinuju achieved better feat in his 4 inglorious rule...at least he built ABS,NEW GOVT HOUSE,established the anambra state university, built the ultra modern oba market..,the new three arm zone(still uner construction) on the way to ekwueme park..What has your yellow nigga achieved other than shoring the capital base of his bank?? angry angry

@Deshclones,you are making me crack my ribs with this 'yellow nigga' thingy but on a more serious note, Obi hasn't lived up to expectation, bad during his first term but worse now. Even if sanitation around Onitsha had improved a bit, much is still expected. Would have preferred Soludo if it weren't for the PDP party he pitched his tent with and i really do hope he leaves PDP before next election. Ngige, cool but don't think he'd want to come back as governor.
Really enjoyed the constructive argument here.

Re: I Won’t Run For Public Office Again – Peter Obi by archangel1(m): 12:18pm On Mar 28, 2012
Masterweb team was on the ground in Awka August 25 to 27 for celebrations marking the twentieth anniversary of the creation of Anambra State. Anambra was created on August 27, 1991 by the military government of General Ibrahim Babangida. Our team operating as independent observers travelled across the state on August 25 inspecting projects by Governor Obi’s administration. The team began their trip at 9.00 am ending at 7.00 pm when it was getting dark and did not completely cover all the targeted projects. Our team returned to Anambra on August 30 after the celebrations to visit remaining projects.

It took us this long to file a report on our assessment of Governor Obi’s performance which we are rating “excellent”, because we employed both visual, common sense and scientific methodology in arriving our rating. We visually saw the projects and not a third party describing them to us, used common sense to assess them and scientific methods to cross-check assumptions and conduct accurate analysis.

In our analysis we compared Anambra State under Governor Obi to other states in Nigeria and not in the United States nor anywhere-else in the developed world. Comparison of a Nigerian city or state to any place in the developed world can not be made until the federal government delivers on her responsibilities. The infrastructural and power supply situation in Nigeria is shameful, to say the least. These are constraints among others, in the ability of a non-corrupt efficient governor doing his best.

In our statistical comparative analysis, the performance of Governor Obi was above the mean (average) and significantly too. Using a confidence interval around the mean of 3 standard deviations, Obi's score was determined to be statistically significant. This ranked him one of the best governors in the country.

In the analysis we rated the projects by Obi’s administration assigning each project a number between 1 to 10 (10 for excellent), adding up the total and deriving the mean value. We came up with mean values for other states from figures from members of our team and reliable contributors, in a survey organized for that purpose. These were the numbers we used in our statistical analysis.

In the next couple of days we will commence the release of our inspection reports and photos. Our reports will be on few projects at a time, to enable readers devote more time and attention on each project.

Projects visited and inspected by our team include:

1. Amaku University Teaching Hospital

2. Anambra State Ultra Modern Fire Service Headquarters & State Emergency Management Complex, Awka.

3. New Anambra Govt. Secretariat (Twin Building)

4. Roads: Dualized Awka-Enugu Road (Zik’s Ave); Ora-eri-Obeledu-Akwaeze-Igbo Ukwu Road; Anambra State University, Uli Campus Road;

Anambra State is one of the names that can not be omitted in the history of Nigeria and Igboland. It has always been at the forefront of issues in Nigeria and South East Region. This is the reason why Anambra is among the places Masterweb has reportorial interest. Masterweb independently covered Anambra State Association-USA (ASA-USA) ‘09 Convention which held in Washington DC on October 24, 2009. In 2010, our team in conjunction with citizen reporters monitored (live) Anambra 2010 gubernatorial election. This year we were on the ground in Anambra touring the state and independently inspecting projects by Governor Obi’s government. Yes, eventually we touched down in Anambra to report the true situation of things in the state in terms of development. Masterweb is renowned for the authenticity and accuracy of her investigative, fact-finding and reportorial works. We do not operate based on hearsay, vindictive or tabloid reporting as some news media and authors have done in Anambra in the past.

In Nigeria, a year in the government appointment is enough not to talk of being the governor. You may decide not to work again in your life.
