You went and confronted your friend, for chasing after your girl?! Like why the fhuck would you do that?!
Spying on your spouse is dangerous not for just her but you. You could become paranoid and do something that is unecessary. It also points towards distrust. Here is something you should have thought about;

You just lost the advantage of invisibility. Now your competition knows you know his moves. If your girl is a LovePeddler, she would simply change her method of communication with him to maybe Yahoo, Gmail or even stricly phonecalls (which she can simply delete her call history after every call).

You are now at a disadvantage.
