There is an order sis. You can't compare Enfamil with it's DHA, AA and probiotic formulation to Nan. That's why Enfamil is 7,500 - 9,000 and Nan is cheaper.

Aptamil and Enfamil both contain DHA and AA, which is very important in brain formulation. That's one of the reasons pregnant women are advised to take Pregnacare plus, instead of the ordinary pregnacare...cos the former has DHA.

All formulas are not the same. They might have the same basic formulation, but additives vary...hence the variation in price. Also, nutrient content varies. Where Aptamil has just 3.6g or so of fat per 100ml, Enfamil has about 5.3g

I bought my enfamil $17 per tin in the us,in April last year, when I gave birth, N2,720 if you do the maths at the dollar exchange rate then. The variation in price is mostly due to where it is imported from, exchange rates, shipping costs, etc

This is the 12.5oz enfamil (equivalent of 355g).

I still gave stock that u bought and haven't used cuz my baby prefers sma which is even more expensive to me cuz I but 400g for 4k.

That's why I said try two and see which your baby prefers

Even in that same USA, there are cheaper brands than that $17 Enfamil....baby formula also, same production location, but different prices.

Checking the ingredient formulation if the different formulas, the difference is clear. Talking from firsthand experience, my son did better when I switched him to Enfamil from Aptamil. He is not a big eater, so the richerEnfamil really worked for him.

The 355g is about 4k in Naija...the 625g is 7,500 - 8,500.

Hi mums, I just found out that I'm pregnant & I have an 8month old who is still breastfeeding; do I stop him asap or can I still continue breastfeeding? Does breastfeeding while preg have a -ve effect? I plan to wan him by 12months.
Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by omoerelu1: 8:12pm On Jan 24, 2015
@practikal , continue breastfeeding. You can stop few months to delivery and continue afterwards. It doesn't harm the babies. The word kwashorkor was derived from an African phenomenon where the first child is not properly breastfed due to the mother being pregnant for a second child.

Got preg too @ 8months and my boy is stil sucking, we r doing just fine but sure body system differs oo. Don't push it if u can't but it won't affect d preg or suckling baby if u chose to continue. Ensure u eat well and take ur prenatal vitamins... all the best sis

I agree with u totally. My friend visited Naija from d US and was told Enfamil is 8k, she almost pulled down my roof with scream. Something less she buys for less dn 3k. She settled for Nan and even bought 3cartons as she was leaving. When I looked @ d tin of Nan closely, I realised it's made in Switzerland not even Naija as I tot.

Hi everyone,
My a year old son is still eating in bits (every 3 hours), d size of his food hasn't increased.though his weight and size is very OK.I've bin old to deworm him by some mums but d doctor doesn't believe in dat school of thought.
Should I go ahead and deworm?

I'll say listen to your dr. Except you don't have confidence in him, then change him.

With regards to your son, have you tried increasing the portions? Did he resist? Try and stretch the time he has in btw feeds, it might make him eat more. You can start by making it 3.5 hrs, then 4 hrs, then 4.5. Give him a light snack like yoghurt or biscuit in btw but not a full meal.

Also try and put him on a consistent routine if you haven't already (whereby you feed him at the same time everyday)

Sma is not made in Nigeria either. I actually don't know any baby food that's formulated here actually,
