Hmm. . .my home work book in nursery and primary school. I remember we interpreted the OLYMPIC as Olu Leave Your Mother, Police Is Coming. Can't help but smile. . . Back in the days of Nasco biscuits and Chi-Chi sweets!

The side I loved the most was the length/distance metric table.

10 millimetres make one centimetre
10 centimetres make one decimetre
10 decimetres make one metre

But dem get this particular boy in my class called Ekene. When reciting, he mixed up the metres with the gramms.
In his own version, 1000 kilometres make one tonne undecided

The picture is Emmanuel Ifeajuna when he earned for himself the honour of being the first black African to win a gold medal when he won the high jump in Canada at the Commonwealth Games in 1954.

This exercise book reminds me of my primary school,Ugbowo primary school in Benin City.
It also reminds me of my wicked teacher,Mrs OMoregie who used to give me melon to crack while mates are playing football during break time.
It reminds me of bons and head of fish
It reminds me of agidi jollof
It reminds me of mama omoma rice with bonga fish
It also reminds me of how I use to steal my mum's money to patronise mama Omoma becos I cudnt just resist the Aroma emanating from her Stew.
It also reminds me of my old friends,Clement ikhayere,Courage ugiagbe,Itohan Ugiabge,Iyobo Agho,Osaretin Iguodala and Gladys Ojokoh.we are share same kpako seat then.
Above all, this exercise book will always remind me of MR P.C.just for no reason,u will be floging me.U will ask me to pick pin or do touch your toe.I swear!anywere I catch you for this Lagos,I go pay you back.U shud be around 60years now,but anytime I see you now,I go provoke I swear!!!!!!!

Haba! Cane wen man chop for yash for tearing the cover of this exercise book no be small. I was forced to take every new one to my teacher uncle to fold it with an old newspaper. I think we use to have different ones for hand writing, arithmetic and English. This note book dates back to the 60s and was by Nigeria Apex Mill if I am right. Brings back memory of "Nigeria we hail thee, our own dear native land.........."

Nice way of aging various posters and contributors so we know those not worth responding to purely on account of immaturity.

Its only now that it occurred to me that that is the picture of a pole vault jumper flying over the pole bar. At the background is the Olympic Stadium which he has jumped over?

Wow, its funny how you look at things with the eye of a child and then see how many years later, when you see the same object again, it becomes strangely different, and yet the same!

Kudos to the OP for taking us back down memory lane! wink

Nice memories! This book had 2A (used for dictation), 2b (used for arithmetic) and 2d (for writing) versions. I hated the 2b version used for arithmetic cos i didn't like arithmetic then.
