andrew444: Get experienced somebody, to fix your car and start enjoying it. Good youre in Lagos. You can tow the vehicle to Ebute Metta/ Oyingbo Same day the car would rise up, If youre lucky, the rewire can come to the ancient city |

davodyguy: Will get it fix asap, but the scanning says the sensors need to be replaced,at least I should replace the sensors first before thinking otherwise |

andrew444: Table your points nicely and accurately so that you don't mislead people. What sensor are you talking about.as far as I can remember there are more than 50 sensors on that car. Be specific sir |

andrew444: I said i HOPE your engine is not destroyed, i am not suggesting it is. First you said andrew444: Secondly andrew444: Thirdly andrew444: Now you are saying you used the car after the water incidence but left it for a while. My next question is, did the car start after the 2 months park? Or did it refuse to start after the battery was removed. I am not being negative here, the problem is not clear from what you are saying and the first solution didnt work. How sure are you that the second will work? Dont forget, a mechanic always point to one problem or the other even if he is not sure of the real problem meanwhile asking you to buy parts or pay for service each time. If your mechanic has the solution, why did you ask for help online. |
Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by andrew444(m): 5:52pm On Jan 11, 2018 |
adanny01: You are right,I need to ask for help online and compare to what the mechanic is saying to be sure, they are just little difference between what you said and my mechanic,at least I scanned the car and it has detected the fault, let me fix the fault it detected then I will tell you how it goes,or does the scanner lie about fault?i will update you when everything has been done |
Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by adanny01(m): 6:44pm On Jan 11, 2018 |
andrew444: About the bolded, the scanner may not be lying, but the actual problem may be far from the code or sensor you may assume is faulty. For example a misfire code such as P0301 can be from several faults which you must narrow down to 1. It is the experience of the mechanic that will successfully pick the right fault. If i may ask, what was the code or what sensor is said to be bad. |

andrew444 I have been reading your posts on this thread. For a car to start it requires 1. Fuel supply. 2. Air supply 3. A spark 4. Proper sequence. 5. Compression. You have 1-4 working fine. You do not have 5. Someone suggested your engine is bad, you said olorun ma je. These things work with principles. My people say Ejawo ninu apon tio yo, elogbomi'ila kana You were not told what sensor stopped car from starting, reason is the blood sucker working on your vehicle wants to suck more blood. Soon after he will stop taking your calls. Listen to the words of wisdom on this thread Oro yi so simi lenu o buyo si. Iso o se ponla, iyo o se tu danu Demeanor king |

andrew444: The related codes are P0335 - No signal P0336 - Range performance P0339 - intermittent All relating to same sensor. If you knew which one is, then we know what exactly is the issue. 1 Like |

Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by adanny01(m): 6:44pm On Jan 12, 2018 |
Demeanor: I dont get you. 2 of the codes may stall the engine while one may not. One of the 2 can be a simple wire cut but a mechanic can assume the sensor is bad. I would not change the sensor just because a scan mentioned the sensor. Do you know that a wire cut near the ecu will still give that code and no matter how may sensors are changed, the car will remain stalled? Is it wrong to ask for specifics? There are more diagnosis that can be made before deciding on the change. For a example, driving in my friends 08 Accord, suddenly, car starts jerking, limb mode and CEL flashing. I scanned and got P1129 for MAP sensor. In that situation was he supposed to buy a new map sensor? I went to the map sensor and behold, MAP sensor socket pull out slightly. Problem fixed. What if the cpk socket pulled out or rodents ate the harness? Should he buy a new cpk sensor? Lets just pray the cpk that is bad such that its replacement will get the engine running. I am just saying that there is a possibility it will not. |

Change you CVT fluid if you haven't in a while and you'll be glad you did. I got a 2013 honda accord some months ago. Nice car, i thought it drives ok but it has this shift hesitation sometimes's on low rpm but I thought it was normal because it was CVT and I've never driven a CVT before this car. I heard with CVTs you don't feel the gears changing but with this car I could sometimes slightly feel the gear change at low rpm, just a slight feeling. I did little research and discovered that the slight hesitation and vibration at low rpm is not normal and happens to some people and they solved it with a CVT fluid drain and refill. So i decided to buy 4quarts of Honda 08200-HCF2 Fluid which is the recommended CVT fluid. I watched how the change is done on YouTube and then headed to a filling station. I practically walked them through the fluid drain and refill just like I had seen on YouTube, I refused any suggestion or advice from them, I just instructed them to do as I tell them if they don't want to spoil my gear. I even refused to use their funnel to put in the new fluid as I didn't want contamination so I bought a new funnel. They drained the fluid, removed the old washer from the drain bolt and used the new washer i bought, then filled the car with the new fluid. We put in almost 4 quarts then started the car shifted through the gears as specified in the manual. After that opened the check bolt so as to gauge fluid. When the fluid gauged and started dripping from the check bolt hole as expected of guaged, they tightened and cleaned up everywhere. But I had to tell them every step just like I had seen in several YouTube videos, these guys go mess your car up if you no dey careful o, I was in the pit with the 2 of them most of the time. Most people who did it on YouTube just jacked the car up but I went to a filling station so as to access the drain bolt on level ground. The reason I didn't do a DIY all by myself was Because I didn't have a pit and I didn't want tho use a jack. After the change I drove the car and It drove like a dream, no low rpm vibrations, no hesitation, the best part is that it now drives like a real CVT as you don't feel the gears changing. The car is super smooth now. Its just incredible how a CVT fluid change could bring a huge change in the way a car drives. I will recommend people who have 2013-2017 accords or civics to change the fluid atleast every 20k to 30k miles, you'll be glad. The most important part is don't leave the job to the mechies alone as they will mess up your car. Very important. 4 Likes |

Fixing the popular Rattle cold start noise in 8th Gen Accord O8-12 Symptoms At cold start, you hear this loud spark 'PA' Thereafter, the car drives smoothly and no issue. Overtime driving of the car like that may damage the engine. With the weak naira, engine now sells for 35Ok. Fixes from personal experience. 1. As they do in oyingbo, if you don't want to replace the culprit, they fix it for you. How? They work on the camshaft VTC actuator and the noise disappear. But they'll leave your car with POO11 timing over advanced. To clear this code POO11, you'll need to change the VTC actuator and possibly the timing chain. 2. It's just look for the money, replace the VTC actuator immediately. Just be careful cos some VTC actuator may have been worked on. No one would be willing to remove Camshaft VTC actuator from Tokunbo engine. 1 Like |
