Please I have this 2005 EOD V4 engine car.I noticed the malfunction indicator light and ABS indicator has been permanently ON since like forever.also recently I have noticed poor fuel economy.please anybody with useful ideas or tips?btw i stay in benin city, does any body know a good Honda mechanic there and where I can possibly do a scan diagnostic. .Thanks in anticipation |
Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by luvinhubby(m): 6:19pm On May 19, 2015 |
sonofaGod:Find out if your ABS cable is severed, unplugged or bad as that can cause the light. The malfunction indicator will need a scan for it & will likely point to catalyst low threshold or circuit malfunction of your oxygen sensor. |

I parked my Honda accord 2001 for some time and I noticed it's like my injector Is dirty and the rpm use to go up and down anytime I on the ac and on normal idle speed. Today I was free and decided to clean the injector myself. When cleaning the injector, I noticed the last time I gave one of those road side mechanic to do it for me, they gum a paper to cover the inlet inbtw the injector and idle speed valve so I remove the paper. After cleaning, the normal RPM is at 1000rpm, everything done to reduce it to 500 prove abortive. Could it be that because I remove the paper? Or I didn't clean the idle speed valve? What could be wrong? I need help. |

Galads: Good job, now close the butterfly valve, it uses an 8bolt don't close it too much so your throttle cable does not become sticky. Mmeanwhile your target idle speed should be between 630-670rpm |

bjt:sure bro, I had an uncle whose honda pilot 2003 model drive d light was blinking after he serviced his transmission by changing the oil with that not recommended by the manufacturer. The resultant effect was the d light blinking on the dash board. Thanks to this thread, years later I was able to figure out why this happened. My uncle ended up changing the whole transmission for 250k. like luvinhubby said check if your transmission oil is low or better still run a diagnostic scan on the car. |

Good day people. I noticed that my Honda DC still continues writing Oil Service Life -200% even after changing its oil. I noticed it came down from 75% to the point it got to 0%. I changed the oil when it was at 25%. Please what does this means? |
Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by inze(m): 11:24am On May 30, 2015 |
viktor556: You ought to have reset the oil after the oil change which you didn't and as such your car is assuming you haven't changed oil. If you're expecting it to rest itself after the oil change then am sorry to burst your bubble. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skI1k9oHPCI |
