Please anyone know certified Honda specialist on this thread in Abuja, I need help after they replace the old ba3 with a new one at Honda place here in Abuja 2months ago, now I have to borrow ba3 each time before I go out. It's really embarrassing. The car is crv 2008, I have made sure the knot on the ba3 are tightened well when I put back the "dying" ba3 and apart from this I haven't noticed anything else. Please help

I can't run more than 60, my steering will start shaking. I notice this after changing my inner bearing cup and shaft. I gauged my tyres and no difference. Could it be the wheel balance? I need help pls.

Since I bought this car, I've only enjoyed it once. That's the day I bought it. Whenever I put on the AC on the car, it starts overheating, a friend said it's a new engine and since it's still bringing out steam from the engine, the engine still needs time to warm well hence d overheating, another said it's thermostat on d engine, and it should b removed. Honestly I'm tired because, the overheating is really annoying as it turns off my engine... radiator has been washed, gasket works fine as well. Please pros in the house I need help, wat might be wrong. @ Gazzuzz @ adanny01 @ nas00 @ luvinhubby

Sir,
Which car are you referring to?

You sounded as though you already gave us some background information about the car. Was it bought as Tokunbo or Nigerian used?

What is the model and year of manufacture?

Generally, when your car temperature gauge rises beyond normal limits whenever you put on your a/c, possibilities may include:

1) Engine wear: When engine efficiency/ output is so low that it can no longer bear the extra burden of operating your a/c compressor.

2) Absent, poorly functioning OR poorly connected A/C condenser fan: This fan is usually attached to either the a/c condenser or its function synchronized with double radiator fans, controlled by a thermostat, which blow more frequently when your a/c is on.

The fan's function is to draw in extra fresh air from the surroundings to dissipate heat from your condenser and evaporator better, thus cooling your engine constantly. Heat output normally increases when you put on tha a/c.. but if the fan is working fine, engine temperature does not rise beyond normal.

If the fan is bad, or your car has only one fan attached to its radiator, it may be the source of overheating.

The fan may be present, but if the wires are wrongly connected, the fan will be blowing hot air outwards instead of drawing in cool air from outside to cool your engine. This can lead to overheating, and is particularly more likely if the a/c has been worked upon before.

3) Check the car's compressor to be sure it has not been replaced by another, whose power rating exceeds the original specification for the car. There is usually a label somewhere in your car hood, giving you this information.

Thanks for your response. It's a V6 Engine. Honda accord 2005 (EOD).It's a Nigerian used, I bought it from my boss wife and according to her, she recently change the engine of the vehicle. The radiator fan blow air inside the engine but I don't knw of the compressor fan.

The problem is the 'new' engine that is in the vehicle. Strong possibility that it's a refurbished or worn out engine.
Save up & replace engine with a very decent engine.

Ok.

If it is an EOD, then it has double fans which cool both radiator and condenser. Since your fans are working correctly, it's more likely the engine can't cope with driving and operating the a/c. It is a sign of engine wear.

if the above bolded is correct, then that's your problem. the fans should blow away air from the condenser and radiator instead of blowing towards them. check the direction your fan blows. if in the wrong direction, check the connection. does your car only overheat when ac is on? also make sure u dont have pockets of air in ur cooling system.
Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by rukyboy(m): 7:53pm On Jul 29, 2015
I have a similar problem with my Honda DC. Anytime after I've driven d car for a while. Usually after 30 mins or so,the car refuses to move if d ac is on. The engine will be running and d ac will be on but it won't rev anymore... The engine won't trip off but d car won't move again until I've turned off d ac

If i shift d gear to "park" i will be able to rev it as high as 8000 rpm if i want while d ac is on. But when i shift to "Drive" ,d car will refuse to rev or move until i switch off d ac..

Gurus. Pls i need help desperately

Also d fuel consumption of d car is crazily high and scary!!

Luvinhubby and Gazzuz. Pls i need your suggestions.
Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by Trafford(m): 10:18am On Jul 30, 2015
The engine overheating issue has been resolved. It was from the gasket. It was changed now I can drive and also put on the AC.
Honda is really a sweet car to ride, I'm enjoying like shawama... Thanks all for your contributions

Also someone said, I shouldn't be using water for the radiator but should use coolant only. How true is that and type of coolant should I use...

Professionals in the house, please guide me

On the driver's door beside the door lock/unlock button there is another single button which is the main control switch for turning on or off other windows. The switch has a red stripe on it. Press it to come up to switch on other windows. I use it together with the child lock on rear doors to stop children from rolling down the glass or opening doors. Sometimes i use it to stop annoying passengers who usually will leave windows open when they alight from the car and becoming a security risk.

Someone must have pressed urs.

How about a situation whereby the remote key only unlocks the driver door while other doors refuse to unlock at the second press? Meanwhile, the unlock button on the driver panel locks/unlocks all doors. Also, when the driver door control is used to unlock all doors, the remote key can be used to lock them all at once but would only unlock the driver door even after the second press

Yours may be a problem inside the driver's door lock actuator.

I remember when mine was opened, there was a switch that activates the other doors to lock taking cue from the drivers door. The lock/unlock button on the front doors dont depend on that switch or the keyless entry system. The system is a little complicated for my limited knowledge but can only guess an actuator problem, a broken harness or unplugged connector to the actuator.

Was the door worked on before the problem started? On my own, the actiator motor was bad and replaced but after the panel beater who removed the actuator forgot to connect one of those connectors, it malfuctioned. I cant remember exactly how.

Good ground clearance
Reliable engine
Fair 2nd hand value
Available parts
Available technical know-how to fix it.
Spacious interior and boot..

Down sides.

Can be stolen in 5mins grin

What ever you decide, ensure you don't buy a rustbucket, remove your agbada and go to a pit to check under for rust.

Hey guys! Trust everyone here is doing good. I drive a DC, noticed it doesn't drive above 3rpm but revs above it on idle, it jerks when it goes close to 3(Limp mode). My electrician fixed some door lock issues that kept lighting up on the dashboard when the door is closed by playing with some cables at the drivers fuse box. He then advised I change the fuse box that there is a partial contact. I noticed this problem afterwards. What can be done to take it off this mode?
