Pete Edochie is still alive and well contrary to media reports that went viral on some blogs in December 2012.

According to the reports, he died after falling off a 50 ft building at a video shoot in Austria.

However, soon after the shocking and sad reports, Edochie's representatives released a statement saying that the star actor is still alive.

His name is Malam Mukailu Naibi of Keke Village, Kaduna, his wife allegedly starved him of sex for two years, and he demanded N1,2 million as compensation from the wife’s parents before an Abuja Area Court today.

A lady who is likely to be in her twenties, was seen talking to no one in particular as she intermittently screamed at the top of her voice, while carrying pure water on her head, apparently for sale.

Tina Okpara, the teenage girl who was serially raped by Super Eagles star, Godwin Okpara, has released a book, detailing how the sexual assault went on for two years.

In the book titled, “My Life Has A Price”, the victim narrates how she was adopted at age 13 by the Okparas and taken to France.

Linda, Okpara’s wife, then enslaved her for five years and turned a blind eye to the sexual abuse, she says in the book.

Tina’s decision to write the book seven years after she regained freedom, aims at raising awareness and helping other girls who might be going through the same horrendous experience, she said in an interview with TheNews magazine.

“One day, I told myself that if I refused testifying, other girls will continue to experience modern slavery,” she said.

She explained how her biological father was tricked by the Okparas into believing that she would be sent to school in France where the Super Eagles star was playing for Paris Saint Germain.

However, once in France, she was used as a sex slave. She was also prevented by Linda from attending school.

“The day she spat it on my face that schooling was not for me because I was too stupid, I lost all hope,” she said

As the abuse worsened, Tina kept secret notebooks where she could “dump all my sorrow”.

“These notebooks were used to dump all my sorrow, all my hatred for Linda. It was my lifeline and my friend,” she said.

The 188-page book, originally written in French, has just been translated into English.

Godwin is currently serving a 10-year jail term in France, while his wife, Linda, will be in jail for 15 years.

The authorities of the University of Port Harcourt may have declared a 7-day mourning for the slain ALUU 4 students of that institution just as there has been many calls from different quarters calling on students of Uniport to refrain from engaging in reprisal attacks. Three University of Port Harcourt students identified as Ugonna, Aladdin and Chidiaka were beaten and burnt alive this morning by indegenes of Aluu community. Their offence was that they had allegedly stolen phones and laptops both within and outside their university campus hotels.

The villagers who took the laws into their own hands, beat the suspects with sticks and all sorts and then thereafter, proceeded to burn them alive with tyres which was placed over their heads (as seen in the pix).

This is wickedness at its highest order. I mean, how do you carry a pregnancy to full course only to dump the baby in a latrine? To my mind, this is a greater evil than the Boko Haram killings.

From what I see in the picture, the baby was put in a nylon bag (which on its own, is enough to suffocate and kill the baby) before it was thrown into a latrine. It looks to me like those are maggots already feasting on the poor child.

In any case, the mother (or whoever dumped the baby in the toilet) was nowhere to be found.

For the love of God and humanity, I am almost moved to believe that Olaolu Sunkanmi Femi is being framed up in this very controversial case of attempted murder. I mean, the accounts from his accusers don't add up if we are to consider Olaolu's story and for the simple reason that he absolutely has no motive whatsoever to want to kill his Ukrainian neighbours. Olaolu says he went visiting a friend with another friend that he was with on the day of the incident.

He says they were drunk, and when they got to the courtyard at his friend's apartment, a group of four Ukrainian students started calling him and his friend African monkeys. Apparently offended, he replied them and that was when his accusers (four of them) pounced on him and his friend beating them, and in defense, he used the broken bottle-neck from the wine bottle he and his friend had being drinking to scare his attackers.

The story is very typical of racists incidences in the Ukraine and elsewhere. I just pray that the Nigerian government steps into the matter as Laolu has already spent 10 months behind bars and may be slammed with a life sentence if nothing is done. Some human rights groups are already doing something about this matter, but are they yielding results? I really don't know. I stumbled on this movie on Youtube and I couldn't stop laughing just watching the trailer.
Udeme Mmi is an Effik comedy-movie starring Belinda Effah, Moses Armstrong, Ime Bishop Umoh and Obongawan Bennett James. The movie was produced by Emem Isong, written with collaborative efforts from Uduak Isong and Chidi Oguamanam and directed by Lancelot Imasuen.
