Annie.salis:

i used to have one lecturer(muslim) then, wenever he comes to class he'll use half of his lecturing period mocking and insulting Jesus/Christians, though we xtians sometimes pick offence bt we hav no power of our own bt to handover him to God to judge. Bt if u mistakenly joke abt their religion, the reverse is the case, they prefer to judge and fight God's battle.

Being a student of History in the Uni, i can perfectly relate to this. Muslim lecturers in my dept (Unilorin) use 80% of their alloted time speaking ill about Christianity. I get personally saddened but what could i do, the V. C himself is a bigot.

Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the Religion of truth, from among the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued....SURAH 9:29

Spade a spade, the so called extremists, expansionists or fanatics are the real muslims doing exactly what Allah requires of them....Islam a religion of peace huh? NIGGGA PLEASE!!!

If only Father Abraham had refused Sarah's selfish and demonic advice and stopped himself from reasoning with his scrotum we wont find ourselves in the mess we are today.

It's a lesson for us men:

I like your line of thought bro. I ponder on those events too at times. If only Abram had kept off the slave Hangar's coochie.

So it takes any tom di.ck or harry to pick up a camcorder and shoot a non-Hollywood clip to send the entire middle east haywire? I've since known these sets of people are lesser than animals. Meanwhile Obama is a weakling, the reason why the U.S is looking more like a joke and toothless bulldog on the global scene. Only Israel, Canada got the balls to call a spade a spade because they saw the bigger picture.

He Obama must make a firm military action against the perpetrators so as to convey a statement that the united states won't take this lightly. Failure to to this is akin to making their embassies in the Arab nations endangered but i seriously doubt he'd do that, a cowardly closet muslim.

And some fool in this same forum was suggesting the implementation of sharia law as supreme in nigeria because it supports the ideology of instant eye for an eye. The baga made reference to the case of late cynthia that the accussed would have been executed by now already under shariah. What if one of them was set up, he would just die for nothing. These pr.icks should reason deeply before going on lynching spree under any circumstance.

Imagine people who can't even come to terms with who they really are claiming they are migrant Jews from Israel now accusing yorubas of not being originally Nigerian. Come on, let face it. Agreed, Yoruba was never part of the Nigeria project right from onset because the Old Yoruba kingdom was a country on her own with well-organised social-political institutions in place. We weren't Jews, Arabs like others. Which tribe/ethnic was originally Nigerian prior to slavery and Lugard's almagamation huh?

Nigeria is finished abeg. The only person in GEJ cabinet making visible impact resigning just like that doesn't add up. The recent appreciation in power supply must have really gotten the cabals mad. Nigeria wouldn't get far with this perception.
The other day in kwara, some agberos went ahead and sabotaged rail tracks on the ilorin to offa axis because the people were deserting the motor parks & opting for train services which are cheaper & safer. The garage touts had to go and destroy the rail tracks to ensure continous business flow (smh). Nigeria is a mess.

@na2day

STFU dawg with the gibberish diction, i've survived 3 bloody Jos crisis in dangerous zones but thanks to instincts plus God Almighty, not as much as a string of my hair got pulled. Last one was prior to Yaradua's death so should i blame him for that since he was the C.I.C. Some soldiers purposely murdered innocent folks who didn't share their affilliation during dat crisis. What's the point? That asinine brother of yours attached to the preski was just a fragment of a bigger failed religion and cultural institution which had clouded his chicken brain that allegiance should be service delivery first, then religion after. Did the president authorized him to be a bully? Instead of you to castigate the cow, you were busy making jest of the victim. You are no different dumbo...well what else can i say, a cow is a cow.

If you like, you can vote along religion or tribal affiliation again, enh? angry

I'm not sorry to say but you sounded like a fool. This guy is a christian who had to deny his faith for survival sake in the face of violent religion fundamentalists. So what exactly do you mean by he shouldn't vote along tribal or religious line? Oh i get, that the victim can only feel safe and be at peace when adherents with violent doctrines like the dumb security fella are in power? Neega please!!! By the way don't put that occurence on Goodluck's head. GEJ is an a$$hole but that unpolished security dude was responsible for his own stupid action. It's a shame

Dude shut da fork up, oh you mad cos i refused to share your self-centered animosity towards igbos huh? I made a statement that i'm fortunate to have quality friends who by the way happens to be igbos, how is that you problem or concern? You better go fall into a ditch...There are contemptible igbos as much as there are yorubas, and primitiveness isn't an exclusive of them hausa/fulanis too. My point is God gave me a mind of my own and with that, i don't not have to loathe someone just because he's from another tribe to prove to you cocksucka that i am OMO OKO....If that won't still do for you, best advice, KILL YOURSELF!!!

Fork all these tribalists...i don't give a shiiit what Ojukwu or Awo did back then. I'm not letting events of the past that i wasn't present in determine my judgement of the other sect. My best friend right from secondary school till date is a confirm anambra igbo dude from achina (uzochukwu) and believe me, i can do anything for that neega. He's like a bloodbrother to me, we've done unimaginable things together (no homo)...so all of you guys mad at your sad & bitter life should vent that elsewhere. Don't put it on the dead, rip Ojukwu, rip Awolowo...I believe they both did what was best for their people as at that time.

I keep a large circle of igbo friends, have dated more igbo chics that yoruba sef which has made me come to the conclusion that nairaland tribal attacks are overated, this is not what obtains in real life. Yorubas love igbos and vice-versa....pardon any typo.

Religion / Re: Churches, Mosques Or Libraries. Which Is More Beneficial To A Society? by CHouse: 12:29pm On Aug 10, 2012
@op your question was twisted and ill-conceived. Are you even aware that the church and other religious bodies were responsible for the introduction of earliest libraries ever? Their roles cut beyond just inculcating morals but educational knowlegde to the benefit of mankind. They have been centres crucial to the preservation of valuable historical texts, antiques, and science thereby laying out foundation for the ones you are so endeared to today and many have benefited from such libraries in the past. Bro, i don't know what your animosity against the church or mosque is but please don't be one-sided in your judgement ok. Monks, Islamic scholars who spent virtually most of their lives at worship places have contributed to the development of humanity over the centuries. Be appreciative and don't disrespect. Thanks!

@betathings
You need to know that i don't have personal animosity towards the muslims even though doctrinal differences is apparent. Some of my closest friends are muslims and we talk and even crack jokes about our religious attachments at times.

What i was trying to point out is that we shouldn't discard or make our traditional and cultural identities fade because of imported religions. Even as deep as the egyptians are religiously, they wouldnt allow their physical and abstract history go into oblivion afterall the ancient egyptians were pagans yet there features are still been preserved and promoted today regardless of the fact that the seat of power is occupied by an islamic party. Oololu masqurade for instance can't never be held in the same esteem it once had before the recent incident.
Politics / Re: Tension In Ogun As Muslims, Traditionalists Clash by CHouse: 2:34pm On Jul 29, 2012
Funny how y'all emphasising on religious freedom and equity now. Logically what the Oro people did was made a pronouncement which isn't meant to be enforced by coercion in real sense thus you may choose to ignore it and go about your normal activities if you feel the supremacy of your own belief would ensure spiritual security for you. The constitution doesn't recognize black magic but it does identify with African traditional religion which structures by the way has been in place before the introduction of other religions in Nigeria. Infact i believe the traditionalist are the most tolerating religious sect in Naija. If Christians and Muslims can have 365 days to observe anything they wanna, why can't any peace-loving individual spare just this 24hrs for this sect for the sake of peace?

If you are going to pose as someone championing religious freedom, please make sure your deeds are exemplary too but i seem to have lost count on the numbers of killings, lynching and burning of churches in these past decades. Were those victims not entitled to freedom of worship and association?

In february 2002 for instance, muslims in ilorin turned violent while celebrating Eid-el-kabir and began attacking and killing Christians, burning the houses and businesses. How about the German Evangelist Reinhand Bonnke's crusade which was meant to hold in the state stadium initially but was forced outside the city. A programme scheduled for 5days was aborted on its second due to pressure on the government from your brothers and sisters in Islam. Are these things to be seen in a system that truly desire religious tolerance, freedom, and justice? Please!!!
Politics / Re: Tension In Ogun As Muslims, Traditionalists Clash by CHouse: 10:01am On Jul 29, 2012
But seriously why is it always the muslims vs adherents of other faith. From d recent embarassing Oloolu saga in which i was highly disappointetd in my yoruba brothers inaction on the situation to Anambra mosque demolition to the apparent cleansing of the Christians up-north. Cant y'all just live and let others live Why must it always be violence, tension, enmity wherever you people are. Places where relative peace can be found are regions where other faiths have been subjugated or totally wiped out yet you clamour for religious freedom and equity in places where you are the minority. It's a shame my yoruba people are losing it in the aspect of the protection of their cultural and religious heritage. We risk to have the destruction of important cultural sites as being experienced in mali replicate itself in Southwest Nigeria if the excesses on the part of these islamists isn't curbed on time.

The point is the scripture didn't mandate any form of symbols in Christianity. Even the picture used to depict Christ is not the real deal. All these just man-made to give a sense of imagery for their believe but you know different sect with different approach. At the end of the day, we are all Christians with the supreme believe that Jehovah is God and salvation can only be attain through His son Jesus Christ.

They should tell their BH brothers to stop the unprovoked aggression aimed at Christians every Sundays & festive days than futile preventive steps.

Nice write-up @lacansa but don't try to potray Saudi Arabia as a place that tolerates and respect Christianity or others. You said there are Christians in Saudi, true but where is their freedom of practise and association in a society than totaly bans the possesion of any Christian-like symbols or literature (Holy Bible). Renouncing the Islamic faith carry the death penalty which is carried out in public after Friday prayers courtesy of the acclaimed most merciful character in the universe, Allah. The christian community resolve to internet chatrooms to communicate due to the ban on anything "church" over there. Brother, you are probably a good person and i understand you wanna be firm and explain your religion better but truth be told, Islam is a hypocritical, belligerent wack religion. No wonder one of the oldest churches acheaologists unearthed in Saudi has been strongly kept from the locals over there and one of the custodian of Islam from your Holy city (grand mufti of saudi) issued a fatwa just some weeks back for the destruction of all churches in the Arabian pennisular. If religious people from the region Islam originated from are this succint, then who are you to say otherwise?

I'm not even a born-again christian nor a regular churchgoer but its very clear the path to light and the bogus one that leads to eternal darkness.
