Hello House; kindly assist.
I have an inverter setup with 2 Amaron quanta 200AH battery and 1.5kva luminous inverter that I have been using for about 18month now. I use nepa light to charge it.
It use to have backup light of about 6 - 10hours when I started using it. My major load is my 65inches TV and 3fans with bulbs.
Now, the setup get fully charge in less than 2hours and get drained in less than 2hours.
What could be the problem.

Amaron quanta is a unique battery, but many dont care to understand it, and hence they damage it.
It requires bulk of 13.7volts and float of 13.5volt....this is clearly written on the body....unlike normal sealed batts that require 14.5volts bulk.

The dumb luminous inverter you are using doesnt hv editable charge voltage settings and outputs about 14.3volts......
Hope u see where am going

E be like ur battery de very large or u get abundance of nepa... Cause the cycle is quite low for the duration claimed.

In the village..just fridge..and lights, fans etc...then sumo once a week.totally offgrid.14kwh 48v.

Even if the cycle count was triple that..say 500cycles in 3yrs....thats still 12yrs minimum before degrading to 80%...even if you assume the minimum of say 2k cycles

Super true. That 80% part is the real gee.
Imagine cycling sth for 8yrs only to degrade to just 80%. This is what tubular users dont know. In directly LifePO4 is almost for Life.
In Waec 80 to 100% is A1. grin grin grin

Yeah, thats why i find it funny people putting so much emphasis on lifepo4 cycle life ..3k, 6k or 10k cycles...e no too get head.

My first lifepo4 pack will hit 3yrs in oct..and has about 178 cycles....so in 30yrs..will still be less than 2k cycles...so why shud i bother my head about whether its 3k or 6k or 20k cycles??

Any normal lifepo4 pack will easily do 15yrs.....and am sure within 10yrs...newer technology would hv even come out...that many may consider reselling their lifepo4 pack to upgrade

I know many won't agree with you, but they can't know more than the manufacturer anyway.

2500 cycles is expected at 43°C - 47°C.

Since the average weather in most part of Nigeria is 27°C - 40°C, we should expect (2700 - 4500 cycles); this result in 7-12 years if cycled daily.

hope you remember/know that the battery doesn't die after this 6k/4k/ or 2500 cycle count, rather its derated to 80% capacity...which is still a hell lot

I used boaster to start a 12v hybrid inverter for a client this morning. The lvd shut down the system last night but the inverter refused to wake up when the sun comes up in the morning.
When I checked the settings, the inverter lvd was at 12v and I've already set the bms low voltage cutoff to 2.5v and I confirmed it.
What could make the inverter not to wake up?
Does anyone have this experience?

so the inverter is a hybrid, solar panels are connected to it?. whats the make of the inverter, whats your UVR setting?

Whoever built this pack no try.
The bms shud hv been set to hv 3.6v as cell hvd on the bms, not good for lifepo4 cell to cross 3.65v.

The jbd has low balance current and it may take upto 1wk to correct the pack, if u configure it properly

Experts in the house, kindly proffer your advice concerning my inverter setup.

I have a 3.5kva SMK Inverter with two pieces of Cworth Energy 2.5kw Lithium 24V batteries (as seen below) and four 380w PV panels. On Wednesday afternoon, the inverter let out two loud sparks and started displaying error code 09 (this would be the second time within three months). A technician suggested that the inverter may not be compatible with the lithium batteries and suggested I replace it with a 3kva Felicity
brand.

Does anyone have an idea on which inverter brand will be most compatible with the batteries?

Thank you.

The installer is very very ignorant..

Smk inverter can and has been used with lithium battery.
Do you have solar panels attached to the inverter?.
Your installer likely didnt programme the inverter to work with lithium battery...hence the internal bms of the battery tripped off while the inverter was working, unexpectedly cutting off supply.

2nd the way he looped the 2 batteries is crude and improper, best to get a busbar and send each battery there...then the inverter will pick up from same busbar

This happened again today and the weather is really sunny

I put on the inverter and it was around 27.6v

Connected to the house and the solar charging went off but battery was still draining

I turned off the PV breaker, the inverter then the battery

Turned on the battery breaker,

turned on the inverter it was 27.6v

Turned on the PV breaker, it started charging

When I put on the load in the house, the battery voltage ran up to about 28v plus then the solar charging line went off again

I just tried again, turned off everything

Put on the battery then inverter (27.1v)

Connected the load (It ran up to 28.3v??)

Then turned on the solar and its the same not charging but voltage is now down to 26.9v

I turned on my fridge and the voltage is up to 27.4v but still no solar charging

I'm lost now but the Voltage seems to be all over the place.

LITHIUM BATTERY OR NORMAL leadacid battery?..this is a strange behaviour..battery voltage going up when load is applied

Update

Hello chief, gone there yesterday and did few of the things listed here... (Equalizer also changed the battery settings to flood on the inverter) .. Also went with felicity 60a cc sadly that one doesn't accept more than 145v but was still able to use it to charge cause of the poor weather although when the sun intensity increases, it started blinking the warning red light. Anyways that not where am going... what I noticed myself is that, the battery doesn't take more than 10mins before it runs from full charge to completely discharge which is from 25.+v to 21.8v. and also takes abt same mins (10mins) before it get full even to bulk and float level. Let me also call una attention to this, initially when i did the installation, they had two 100ah battery which i connected to it, after abt few days the batteries became so weak and dead. I was like maybe because they've been using those for going to 2yrs maybe that was why, then we got another one.. Brand new ones this time around two tubular batteries 12v 220ah then this issues again which am just so so confused ... I also noticed the battery will start decreasing just like a clock count down.. It doesn't back up at all ones the PV is been cut off.. Same thing the previous two 100ah did.. what is the way forward, what kind of solution can I use to tackle this problem pls.. Will be in the comment section... Thanks all..

their load is killing the batteries...or a dim possibility is that you got substandard batteries.
the wahala with leadacid battery is that it gets irreversibly damaged anytime the voltage goes below 10v, depending on the battery, some might make a better recovery than others...while some will die outright.

u didnt check the SPECIFIC GRAVITY OF THE ELECTROLYTE?...if weak/dilute, it may also cause similar issues..but its a long shot..

your best option is go for lithium battery, a 3.5kwh 24v lithium battery will handle those loads easy peasy....or get 6kwh pack to have more flexibilty

Panels are 568w x3
The only heavy load put on the system is the pump.. Which is abt 750 or so watt..
The fridge and freezer is inverter which sometimes stayed btw 114 and 60w..
Tv is below 30w also decoder..
Then bulbs..

Abt the charging parameters, it was left on default. Will hv to get battery charger to check the level..

ok panels check out, WELION inverter, you need to put it on flooded battery setting, not default or choose user and set bulk to 14.7v and float to 13.8v........and activate equalization immediately and set monthly equalization too for 4hrs at 31v.

am assuming the batterys are brand new, so electrolyte SG is correct, just that its not being charged and mixing well cos of the low/wrong voltage. higher/correct charge voltage and the periodic equalization shud sort you out real quick..

your leaving the inverter on default is the likely cause of this issue, and most average installers are guilty of this as well.
also the pump load is a bit high, but if you run it only during the day, with solar panels kicking in juice, you shud be fine

Good day bosses in the house...

Abeg make una help me with solutions to the below problem ..

Did 4.2kw 24v installation with two 220ah tubular batteries abt 2mths ago.

Now the customer sent me a message this morning that for abt one week now the batteries goes off around 2-3am with just DC bulb load (10pices of 5W each).

Load use on the battery.. 1HP pumping machine.. Once in abt 3 and days, running hrs like 1hr max during the day.

Inverter fridge and freezer from 8am to 6pm now reduced to 3pm

And the DC bulb for night useage..

Kindly note that the batteries get alot of charge before the sun goes of.. It always in the float state before it comes down to the normal 50% battery level and still sound for low battery warning even without much load around 3am max..

What can i do to rewake or b boost the batteries pls..?

Thanks all.

U DIDNT MENTION ANYTHING about solar panels?.
max load you shud put on the system without damaging it is 20amps x 24volts wch is about 500watts....that pumping machine, have you checked the actual draw?..same for the freezer.

what of battery charge voltage algorithm...what voltages did u set the inverter to?..abi you just left it on default?
check the SG of the battery electrolyte with a hydrometer and be sure its good

The powmr was my initial setup which I have reserved as backup, so it's not in use presently.
My solar panels is 2000w total connected in series.
My battery is lithium 12v/300ah and it was not full when I have noticed this issue and when I switched off and on back, normal charging continues. This only with solar charge and never with NEPA supply.
No shadow cast over the panels though the inclination is off, "na send down the rain roof".
All these started recently, the inverter was purchased in July 2023 but installed in March 2024.

Good morning,

My question is off the solar discussion.

I intend to purchase a 5Kva stabilizer to boost the low voltage supply.

I intend to connect it to my Freezer, and TV

My question is should I go for the conventional big century Stabilizer or a wall mounted stabilizer?
What are the differences in terms of durability and performance?
If there a re better brands I could get also, I'd appreciate.

cc: Jonescosmos

you miss the the point, when buying a stabilizer, your focus shud be on working voltage, not if its wall mount or conventional. 80 to 270 is a good working range, go for such stabilizers, a few stabilizers also claim 45 to 270 volts......this is even better, but know that this model is more fragile and selective about load. a 10kw stabilizer derates to about 3kw if the input voltage is about 150v, so imagine what it would be at 45v

2ndly, the next critical issh in selecting a stabilizer is if its servo or relay....
personally i prefer servo, as it has less moving parts, a relay stabilizer has more parts/relays clicking upandan...so more things likely to go wrong, relay sticking and damaging the stabilizer....though the pros of relay stabilizer is that its simpler..and the average repairer can repair it...unlike the servo wch is a lil bit more complex and may require you sending it back to supplier..aedunamis or prag as the case may be

Thanks. How long has it been in use by the client?

I need to take my time on this stab issue and critically weigh my choice before taking the plunge. That LG AC mis-purchase is still giving me PTSD.

buy a stabilizer that picks from low voltage --80v, those that pick from 120v perform poorly if your voltage is very low.
ae dunamis is good, if it has issues, u can send it back for repairs under warranty if within 1 yr...or out of pocket payment if more... if your area is prone to erratic over voltage from nepa..try and protect the stabilizer with these digital avr , zeestone sells it

These are definitely used lithium ion cells, as i surmised earlier..josboy has a thing for them grin grin..
Chk that each of the 14 bms cell leads are tight and firmly attached to the cell pair...though from the resistance values..they appear to be.

I suspect a failing bms...does the bms have an ON bitton?.
U can try power it down/disconnecting the sense and power leads and then powering it back up again..
I dentify the cells reading above 4.2v and attach a car headlight bulb to it..for 10 to 20 mins....that wud drain the energy to acceptable values...allowing the charge and discharge fxn of the bms....then connect the inverter to it and observe.

If the bms has failed..then a simple bms swap shud get u back and running again

Toggle it on to achieve what exactly...one cell has runaway. At 4.8v...the bms shudnt hv allowed that happen.

THERE IS 2KW 12V HYBRID WITH INBUILT 80AMPS CC..CAN ALSO GRID CHARGE AT 60AMPS

both are high voltage hybrids.
