Just two For simon fraser....both in Sciences....they require u to have 4 supervisors before u even submit the application...that was like the hardest part..cos I kept emailing the faculty members....some said they are not taking up extra student..

What about computing science in that SFU do they also require you to get a supervisior?

Please house I need your advice on this issue. A friend just got his trv approved and his school deadline to resume is 13th which the school is not ready to grant any extension. The problem now is that the school has refused to grant him an extension of time but can only defer his admission to fall 2017. He has another offer from Conestoga College and they are willing to grant him extension of time. Can he use the second college to travel since the original college which he used to secure trv is not willing to grant extension?

You mean people has started getting TRV with PGD?

WRONG. ....They waived English test for me when I applied. Though you have to apply and mail them an evidence that your previous education were in English Language.

Please let's be sure before giving answers to any question to avoid misleading people.

which school waived it for you? Did you finally get the admission? Did you have to secure supervisor before applying?

If Canada is ur only aim...Simon Fraser University or Victoria University charges around 5480cad ..excluding application fee of around 147 to 156 cad...but u also need toefl or ielts for both schools...their 2017 entry application is still open...

.From my personal statistics of student I helped in processing admission,Science courses, language courses, and education management are quite easy...MBA is usually kinda wierd cos lots of peeps applying for MBA usually are not in the management line...but the truth of the matter is ur undergraduate course /CGPA and personal statement will speak a lot for you in wateva course u apply for.

But also try and make sure ur undergrad study course is very related to ur post grad application it helps like garri and cold water in a hot Sunday afternoon...if not u need strong work experience relevant related to the Masters or pdg course u r applying for so u don't waste application fee, it's usually unrefundable.

I made an application for a dude that graduated with BSC in chemistry and has been teaching mathematics for 7yrs...he wanted an MBA so as to expose him to more senior managemnt job opportunities, weda he decides to come back to naija or not....I advice him to chose an MSC in chemistry, environmental management ..or education or juvenile management since he was dealing with Student and lecturin...but he refused....
eventually portsmouth University denied him on grounds that his background knowledge isn't gonna equip him for his choice of course neither is his work experience relevant.

1. Please do you advise somebody that has bachelor in computer science to apply for master in public administration?
2. please among the 2 schools you mentioned above, (SFU nad VU) which is easier to get admission?

Nope..they don't waive ooo.infact they won't take the scores from u tru uploading on application page u have to pay another 11dollars to the body weda IELTS or toefl to send ur test score directly to dem.

Anyone I'm processing admission for, I advice dem to get the bloody toefl done jare..it opens more oportunities..imagine northern British Columbia charging tution around 4,000 cad except fo their MBA dat tuition is around 7,000 cad which isn't even up to 2million......a lot of UK schools waive English language test for Nigerians..there school fees is just too high....just do it and get it over with.seiz the oportunity now b4 they will increase school fees.
For example,A whole lot of German University don't charge tution for both indigenes a international...but I saw info on UNI-Assist portal that international masters applicant might start to pay from 2018/2019 session....so seize the opportunity while it's still available

which school will you recommend for admission because that University of Northern British Columbia application deadline has passed. Which course specifically in that UNBC is easy to get admission?

The cheapest school in Canada in university of northern British colombia.tuition is less than 4000 Canadian dollars.however applications have closed for 2017 entry...u can apply for 2018/2019 entry now.
Next is University of manitoba..its not as cheap as the one above...tution is 10,000 Canadian dollars dats about N2.250million...I love this school so much cos Nigeria is listed among the countries English proficiency test is exempted for.
Goodluck

There are other cheap schools..like simon Fraser University., victoria University both with tution around 5400 cad...dats around 1milion plus...but u must have toefl or ielts..and application fee is a bit high..around 147dollars

Does Northern British Columbia waive proof of English for Nigerians applicants? Which other universities waive it?

Guider Chuudy, Nigeria Number 1 Guider explains further in hia note below

"Dear mavrodians, my mission here is to make us properly understand this new message that seems to be causing panic out there in the hearts of all MMM participants. The message does NOT say that nobody will be able to GH until January, instead the message is saying that you will not be able to GH until after 30days that you actually made the payment of your PH and the recipient confirms. Meaning that your money must actually spend minimum of 30days outside. So for example, if you PH 100K on 5th November, and you are matched to pay on 10th November, assuming that you made the payment but the recipient does not confirm your order until 15th November when he finally comfirms receipt of your payment. From that instant (15th November), your mavros will change status to "CONFIRMED" ( irrespective of colour Blue or Green ), so you will only be able to request for help (GH) on that particular 100k + 30% growth as from 15th December. It is not that you can't GH before January.

Please spread this to all your downlines"

You sound desperate! You have a good CGPA though, presently most university admission application is on-going. What was you first degree project all about? You can form a research proposal around it, search for recent work in that area, develop it, send it, your transcript, and a brief introduction of Ur self, with Ur area of research to as many professors in Ur field and pray u get a response.

Some schools don't require you having a supervisor before giving you admission while some requires it, but it is advantageous if you can secure one before submitting your application, he can tell you some internal scholarship to apply for and the rest.

The gurus here will help you the more

Please which school doesn't require supervisor before giving you admission?

First of all, my answer is based on research-based masters program

Well, on paper manitoba grants more admission to international students, but i'll vouch for Saskatchewan and i have my reasons

In Saskatchewan before you apply for masters there is this pre-qualification form you will ne asked to fill, which will then be distributed in the faculty to see if supervisors will like such app, then if u pass dat stage, you will be asked to formally apply - which is sure in most cases. (I know this is how ECE does, i don't know abt other departments but i think it might be general, check ur departmental website for more info)

Manitoba too has its advantages like uou do not need to have a supervisor to get admitted, the department will assign for you.

I was also faced with this issue, my own is that i will apply to the two of them (risk management) anyone wey pick me na my luck i just have to "blow" $120
I think its better to overlook $120 than not to get admitted to one.

After dat one sef, person go come start TRV wahala

By the way which course do you want to apply to and is it course-based masters or research-based masters?

see what saskatchewan said on their site but u said i dont need to secure a supervisor that they will look for me

Research supervisors

We recommend that you contact the faculty that are doing research in an area that interests you before beginning a formal application.

Find a supervisor

Using the list above, find a potential supervisor, read about the work they are currently doing and their past publications. If you think you'd like to work with them, contact them and describe your research interests and past academic experience. If they are accepting students, they will instruct you to begin a formal application.

Some coursed based masters in manitoba requires you to have a supervisor while some research based dont, so it dpends, its not general rule, it varies

Make them carry their wahala go - i go just give try Sakkatchewan. see what they replied me below.

Hi Kelley,
Our website states that you need to get tentative acceptance from an advisor prior to submitting your online application. Without the tentative acceptance, your application may not be viewed.
Please contact an advisor for tentative acceptance. The list of supervisors is available http://umanitoba.ca/ece/pros_students/grad/admissions.html

Forget to add that Bachelors in Germany is 3 and half years. Some are 3 yrs. Master admission is gotten directly by Nigerians without needing to secure a supervisor. Just informing those who might be interested. is easy. to apply, just visit https://www.daad.de/deutschland/studienangebote/international-programs/en/ but remember to click tuition free schools cos some private school charge tuition so apply to only federal sch and enjoy free school fees and high standard of education. They have 2 sessions Winter and Summer.

You are allowed to work and most schools also give you free ticket every semester to board train and buses so you don't need to pay for transport. Even Americans, Chinese and other people full my class. Who no like free things?

This information is not for everyone.. Just want to make a common sense (Ben Bruz lol)

Sorry to say- you are not well inform about Germany....

Admission is easier in Germany because with 2.2 and a good motivation letter you can get admission for a masters program in Deutschland.... A female friend of mine just got admission to study MSc international business in Berlin with a 2.84 CGPA.. Is this obtainable in Canada??

1) My friend didn't write IELTS before she gain admission. Most schools has it that if English is ur official language in ur home country, you don't need to document English language proficiency (which Nigeria is)

2) Lolzzz..... This is utter rubbish! You don't need to learn German language to gain admission or be granted study visa when ur program is being taught in English. Some BSc program are taught entirely in English while most MSc programs are tutored in English. GET UR FACTS WRITE

3) No one should be surprised.. How many countries in the world offers free and quality education at all levels to every human being on planet earth. You don't pay application fee sef. Only Norway and Germany offers absolute free education to everyone.... Canada doesn't even offer free education to her own citizens. With a good and passionate SOP, averagely good grades, applying to so many schools as possible. Ur admission is near certainty.

4) Oga German study visa is relatively easier to obtain. With genuine documents. To me the interview system offers one an interactive opportunity to better explain ur intentions. Some people are more articulate in verbal explanation. If ur documents are genuine, you respond well to the questions and fulfill the visa requirements ur visa is certain. Nothing like "home tie in country of residence and Canada" and people get denied because of these.. Smh... Many of my friends tried to no avial to obtain Canadian study visa but as I type a handful of them are in Deutschland now studying and working.. Making mad cash.

5) It is actually €8000(annual living expenses) If you get admission the embassy will open a German block account for you to fund it with the said amount. No hassle to be running helter skelter looking for sponsors.. They said money is still ur cash. You can even borrow it and when u get to Germany u can be remitting back bit by bit.. No need to provide bank statement and all the bla bla sponsors documents. Just open an account. Fund it with €8000 and that's all.

Read well Mr. There's nowhere I wrote that, they aren't great engineering schools in Canada.. I didn't even state one is better than the other in engineering discipline. Canadian economy is not as robust, innovative and efficient as the German economy. Germany has a more innovative, diverse, technology savvy, stronger economy than Canada #Fact
Canada has been in recession for sometime now where as Germany has been one of the best performing economy in the world for sometime now. #fact

I like Canada. Two of my siblings are studying there as I write . It is a beautiful country with world class education system and universities. But Germany provides a viable alternative to Canada

Well said..... I concur that everything you said here is true to my knowledge. The minimum wage they pay us in Germany is 8.5 euro per hour which is 12.5 Canadian dollar but most companies pay more like Mercedes Benz pays 15 euro per hour to students. Audi and other auto and logistics companies like Volkswagen pays well. Student jobs are everywhere. The first place i worked in Germany was at Takko material company where i got 13 euro per hour. before i run go Benz when i hear say money dey there.

Dude, it confounds me that you are both dogmatic and fear-mongering.

1. IELTS isn't a biggie if you speak English haba. Tuition in Germany is free, do you want them to have zero entry requirements?
2. No you don't need to learn German to study at the masters level in Germany in their international programs.
3. Of course you need concrete documents in the same way that you need concrete documents for Canada. I taya for you o. Compared to Canads, at least you can get an MSc admission in Germany with a 2:2 BSc from Naija. My bro got admission into a MSc in Computer Science (at a good school) because he put together an amazing application.
4. Capital NO. The visa is not hard to acquire. Their interview is straightforward and the outcome is not random like the US embassy, and they don't need all the documents in the world like the Canadian embassy. But you need to prepare for the interview, Germans don't want riff-raffs. Follow the German thread on NL and you will see this clearly.
5. Yes you need 8040 Euros, and that's ALL you need for a year to cover living expenses cos tuition is free. (Unlike Canada where you may need at least $25,000 CAD, which is equivalent to 17000Euros).

You just made my point. While Canada is excellent, it is not the only country in the world that offers great opportunities for Nigerian students. Germany is excellent as well.

Also, nobody said there aren't great engineering schools in Canada. We all know that. The fact of the matter is that Germany also has great schools.

PS: My bro almost went to Germany so I am intimately aware of the process. He got his Canada TRV two weeks before his Germany student visa appointment (we ran the processes in parallel).

You have said it all. But let me add that is not all schools that require Toefl or Ielts. Two schools I applied to when I was traveling to Germany did not even ask for any of it.
Let me also add that if you have a sponsor in Germany or living in Europe to give you an affidavit that he will care for you then the providence of the 8,000 euro account opening thing will be waived.

I believe is better to save than to spend on tuition in Canada.

Na like this una take dey confuse people.
Who told you Germany is easier to gain admission in ?
In fact, it is even difficult than Canada.
1. You need IELTS just as Canada
2. You need to learn the language to a certain level.
3. There is a huge competition because of the free education system. Lots and lots of people apply and you need concrete application documents (strong SOP etc).
4. The VISA is hard to acquire at the Embassy. They even have an Interview System
5. You need to even have about 2million naira to deposit to your German account before Visa acquisition.
And who told you there aren't "great" Engineering schools in Canada and that the economy isn't "Robust"?

Regardless of whatever reasons you've listed and that you're going to list, it's easier for you to Integrate in the Canadian society than the German's. Trust me, it's not even safe in some cities in Germany.
This young man have you forgotten interview is better to express yourself and proof you will come back than paper where they decide anything in your absence?

yes try Germany. Their visa is straight fwd

tuition is totally free so when you work there you send money home rather than using it to pay school fees like Canada case.

You cannot be "near native level" within a year.
This is only possible if you've got nothing to be busy with (studies, work etc) and learn it the whole time. Studies in Germany is time consuming and demanding. It's hectic. It's hard for you to study in Germany and want to attend those classes with the hope of grasping it in a year.

It's almost IMPOSSIBLE.
