Only a foolish person will ask this kind of question. Without thinking off the hat, I believe the train services were even done in his second term.
Like I said, only a foolish person will ask this kind of question.

The best tourist site destroyed yet the Government or even friends of the Government who are wealthy does not deem it fit to replicate Landmarks beach in other beaches in Lagos.

I am a firm believer if you destroy something, you must be bold enough to replace that you destroy with something even better rather than making the city’s wholesome tourist destination a severe deficit why not replace with something much disarable.

All these so called friends of the Governor who are billionaires can’t they think beyond their noses.

You destroy something good and nobody is doing anything to replace it with something better. Does not make sense to me.

Yet some of their idiots idea of fun is watching a European championship match far away Europe.

The Ghanaian economy got a boost once this policy was inaugurated. Nigeria should do same without thinking twice.
Politics / Give Labour 495,000 But Remove 3 Zeros From Naira Valuation??? by KnowAll(m): 9:46am On Jun 04
So that 1000 Naira would now be N1.00 and 439,000 will now be 439.00 Naira.

Basically redomination of the Naira in line with some countries in Africa like Ghana and Zambia.

I think this strategy would reset and rejig the whole economy into a beginning. To be sincere, I saw how the Ghanaian economy transformed once they underwent redomination of the Cedis.

Tinubu should take the bull by the horn and redominate the Naira.

The illusion that a country’s currency is strong would ginger the economy. It has happened before.

I don't think you understand my post at all, because you are still repeating the same fault I pointed out in your previous posts. I was surprise as bold as you are to start this kind topic, you don't put into consideration an element of progression. When new state are created, where do the new administration develop first? The same logic should be apply to short life regionalism practice in the first Republic.

Let me analyse this in a lay man understanding. Nigeria was more or less an agrarian state those period, the main occupation of majority is farming, which made rural areas their preferred choices to live. We had very few educated people doing white kola jobs back them compare to now.

Nigeria was still a newly independent state, where premiers were trying to develop cities starting from regional executive base. You don't expect them to start developing every town or village at the same time. Aside that, majority were illiterates, who are mostly farmers or low level artisans. Development is process, if former western region could develop Ibadan within that short period, Imagine how many cities would've been
developed to high end standard today.

There was little or no development in any town outside Ibadan in those days. Look at my state Ondo state, when Miniko became Governor, he changed Ondo town to Ondo City by dualising the main roads entrying the city, notice this is not the capital. Because of that singular action real estate, businesses and hotels have open up in all those areas where the road was built.

Borrowing from Mimiko’s example, the next Government did the something in Owo town now Owo City, and I am sure the current Governor would do his own bit in Okutipupa in Ondo south. Basically those developments have pushed the state forward tremendously.

But if we are in still enmeshed in that hargemony called western state, I doubt if the level of development we experience today can be matched by one super emperor sitting in Ibadan.

The Igbo’s Benue would be added to neighbouring Igbo states. The idoma’s of Benue who has never been Governor in Benue should have their states while the tivs would in Benue plus all the tivs in Taraba and Nassarawa state included in that tiv state.

I support this.

Why should Oyo state be so big, that only Ibadan is developed, why should Bauchi or Borno be so big

Divide those states into 2 or 3 jare

And every ethinic group should have a state. For instance a state like Kogi an igala state should be created, that means igala’s in edo and Anambra state would be added to that state.

Why the igbirra’s can have their’s with headquarters in Okene and the joins would have Lokoja.

Creating more states in a presidential system of government is a recipe to waste of resources. Have you ever consider the cost of running administration of a state, which amount to billions of naira every months?

State is a complex arrangment with alot of idle institutions under it that gulps alot of resources. State offer no value to its masses than payment of salary and over inflated projects and egos by governors.

Now let talk about Regionalism, It offer people with same ideology, value, culture and tradition and history to determine what work best for them. Regional government tend to have more focus because it is base on identity and struggle to be better than other nations. Patriotism level is usually high under Regionalism than state. More qualify people are usually consider to lead than in a state system.

Base on the above, it is much more better to eradicate states for Regionalism OR just Federal government and 774 local governments.

You would now have a regional emperor instead of state emperor. How many housing estates did Awolowo built in Iwo, Ondo, oyo, Ijebu-ode, ede,Ilesha. Yet he took ondo’s cocoa money to build a skyscraper called cocoa house in Ibadan. States can work together to build inter state roads. Oyo and Oshun state are doing it at the moment. The road from Ibadan to Iwo is handled up to d Oyo state border by oyo state whilst Oshun state has taken it over from the border of oyo state to osogbo.

You have obviously been brainwashed by military rule for decades. State creation has taken Nigeria backwards so much that even the criminals in Abuja have no choice but to try to return Nigeria to regions to savage Nigeria.

What you need are strong regions and within those regions you can have states or provinces or counties or the likes. Akwa Ibom has not developed more than any other former Eastern Region state and is suffering the same backwardness you find everywhere. Each state has some small sprinkles of developments or structures, but none world class, none to justify the amount of resources they produce, and generally bad leadership.

Return to regions is the way to go.

We cannot go back to regionalism because as we had in the 60’s the region gets d money in which case western region. When we had western region only Ibadan was developed but today, oshogbo, Akure, Abeokuta, Ado Rkiti and not limited to state capitals, cities like Ondo, owo, life, Kanu ode, Ogbomosho, oyo and iseyin are well developed.

More states are good too.
Some villages are remotely so far from governance that it seems like no form of governance exists in such places apart from what they call chiefs and so on.
More states are needed even in regional governments.
States like Kaduna should be divided, same as Niger, Benue, Oyo and so many other states, you can't build a city with states whose sizes are 30,000 km² or more.
Even 15,000km² is too much.
Creation of more states to some extent will give people a sense of belonging in their society as government will be closer to them.

Yes I agree with you.

Kenya a small country has about 44 counties equal to our states. Nigeria a big country needs power to be devolved further.

Southern Kaduna needs a state, the Gboko axis of Benue state and maybe plateau can be broken into 2.

Since the LG system has collapsed it would make sense to create more stated knowing that the Governors are emperors who push development in their respective states if they so wish.

One can see that last exercise was a success. Akwa Ibom state came out of CRS. But today Akwa Ibom is more developed than her parent state which is CRS.

Same thing Gombe state and Bauchi, Gombe is one of the best run states in Nigeria. And it is highly developed when compared to Bauchi.

See the level of development in Delta state today, if it were still part of bendel state the development would be a far cry.

The SE needs one more state. Create a state around Lake Chad foreshore to take care of that area.

Oke ogun state from oyo state is long over due.

Create a state from Niger State, it being the largest state in Nigeria and it seems to have a lot of ungoverned spaces.

Instead of going to one silly regionalism creat more states to spread development.

What do you think.

Your suggestions are as good as none. Who imports what? The leaders are the ones importing even their toothpaste, and groundnut. The poor buys everything thrown at him. It may interest you to know that there are 2 types of paracetamol in Nigeria, one for the rich and the other for Nigerian market.

On the Civil service, you got it all wrong. Reason?
A local government Councilor can conveniently pay a Director in the Civil service and still have something left. I mean a Councilor!

In this day of AI and computation we don’t need a bloated civil service. We are know mor in 1975. With a smaller civil service we should be able to give them a living wage.

The rich should go back to thst 1977 Obj policy where you only buy Nigerian vehicles. No more foreign vechiles.

Holland - 1 trillion dollars a very small country probably the size of Oyo state.

Belgium - 500 billion dollars a small country the size of Kogi. If it were in Africa it would be the largest economy in Africa.

Ireland $500 billion if it were a country it would be the largest economy in Africa. A country the Size of Benue state.

We know try at all for Africa. This things need to be done ASAP

Buy Nigeria, stop buying Japanese cars and German cars

Stop importing foods plant what we eat

Cut down the size of civil servants so that we can give them a living wage. Do you know if you work as a teacher in SA or Namibia you would get a wage 4 or 5 time our minimum wage.

Stop all imports and look inwards.

China practically consumes what it produces we can do it too.

May God bless Nigeria.
Politics / What Happened To Tinubu’s Hourly Pay??? by KnowAll(m): 7:16pm On May 30
Of all the promises that Tinubu made I remember him saying people should be paid a handsome wage hourly instead of a daily pay that is prevalent amongst the tradesmen like your brick layers, carpenters etc

Because some jobs might just take 3 hours to do and as long as there is a good hourly rate people would be able to make a living doing those jobs.

Now the FG is finding it difficult to pay 100,000 Naira a month despite a depreciation of the Naira by 3 times.

I think so far the NW part of Nigeria and NE part ravaged by Boko haram and bandits has drawn Nigerian downwards. This 2 regions cannot even send their kids to schools to start with.

What are you expecting after allowing young men to be uneducated for 20 years . The results are the dire economy in these areas.

Even Kano city the so called wealthiest city in northern Nigeria cannot sustain a shopping mall making shop right to close shop.

Meanwhile Ibadan City has about 5 malls all still operational.

As long as those 2 regions don’t train their youths we shall remain the poverty capital of Africa.

Excellent observations and comments. More autonomy, power and funding for the 774 local governments of Nigeria is the only way most Nigerians will ever see development.

For example, we all complain against Tinubu about bad roads in our locality yet what we fail to grasp is that good roads will remain a wish forever if local government leaders are not genuinely empowered, and then held to account, to make a different at local Government level.

FG will never usually get involved with road construction at State level let alone local Government level. Ditto many other essentials like healthcare etal. The 774 local government area, because it is where we all reside in, must be empowered by all means possible to be a far greater contributor to overcoming the problems of Nigerians where they live and work.

Tinubu's and the FG's current court case against States 'imprisonment' of local governments corresponds with the conclusion and thinking of OP.

This is why I rate Tinubu as an effective visionary who has no time for providing fish when he knows enduring solutions, that fosters the greatest progress and development, comes from teaching the populace to fish. Reform of the role and leadership of local governments of Nigeria is crucial.

Do you know the municipality are in charge of running water in South Africa. But in Nigeria some idiotic Obidient wants Tinubu to give them water.
