Autos / 2020 Toyota Camry TRD More Affordable Than You Think by LadyNaija(f): 10:17am On Aug 24, 2019
Toyota has been making a noble and, so far, successful effort to launch more emotional cars. Design and handling are both key factors and while the Toyota Camry will likely never be an all-out high-performance sports sedan, the latest generation is, without question, the best one yet for those who like to drive. The best example is the 2020 Camry TRD, which will be arriving in dealerships shortly. Like the larger Avalon TRD, Toyota has packed in a fair amount of features for the money and, not to mention, a new driving and design attitude. And the best part is that the Camry TRD is not insanely expensive. Quite the opposite.

CarsDirect has learned that the 2020 Toyota Camry TRD will have an MSRP of N11,589,548.85 – nearly N1,448,920.00 less than the also sporty Camry XSE.

Interestingly, the Avalon TRD is actually N1,448,920.00 more than the Avalon XSE. The above Camry TRD price even factors in the N360,418.85 destination charge. To compare more precisely, the V6-powered Camry XKE begins at N12,824,753.15 while the top-of-the-line XSE starts at N13,023,979.65. Meanwhile, the Honda Accord 2.0T Sport, perhaps the Camry TRD’s most direct rival, also has an affordable starting price of  N11,460,957.20, when equipped with the automatic.

However, the Camry TRD is powered by the naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 with 301 horsepower and paired to an 8-speed automatic. The Acord 2.0T has 252 hp from its turbocharged 2.0-liter four. However, buyers do have the choice between a six-speed manual or a 10-speed slushbox. The overall Camry TRD package should appeal to those who want a sporty sedan but nothing too extreme.

Toyota has made a number of "track-tuned upgrades such as bigger brakes and an improved suspension setup that lowers the vehicle by 0.6 inches. There’s also a new aerodynamic body kit, TRD exhaust, matte black wheels, some red badging, and even painted red brake calipers.

Potential buyers should also be made aware that the Camry TRD will not offer the Navigation Package or Driver Assist Package, which adds a surround-view monitor and rear emergency braking. Other advanced safety features, like automatic emergency braking, remain standard. Instead of the XSE’s leather seats, the TRD offers SofTex synthetic leather. A few sacrifices perhaps, but if driving is your thing then the choice is rather clear.

Politics / Foreign Govs At Buhari’s Rally Sign Apc’ll Import Voters – PDP by LadyNaija(f): 6:24am On Feb 01, 2019
The Peoples Democratic Party has berated Buhari and the All Progressives Congress over the presence of two governors from the Republic of Niger at the presidential rally of the APC in Kano.

The PDP accused Buhari of mortgaging the future of Nigeria.

He alleged that the President and his party, the APC, would also import voters from neighbouring countries for the February 16 Presidential election.

The National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, who spoke with one of our correspondents, called the attention of the international community to the alleged plan by the ruling party.

Elections, he said, were internal affairs of Nigerians, wondering why the two foreign governors would be in Kano to welcome the President to his own country.
He said the presence of the two foreign governors had also vindicated the PDP’s claim that President Buhari and his party had been importing foreigners to attend the APC rallies.

Secondus said, “We have been saying is that the President does not consider the interest of Nigerians first in any of his actions. The President of Nigeria has sold the country to those who he loves more than the people who own the nation.

“The present of the two foreign governors is significant in many ways. One, it shows that the President and the APC, like we said, have been importing foreign leaders to the country to attend their rallies.

“We have been saying this and I’m happy Nigerians now that God has exposed them. Their evil plot has come to the open.

“You know that even in almost all the states where the President and his party have become unpopular, they keep on boasting that they will win with a landslide victory. One of the ways they planned to get the votes is the illegal importation of foreign voters, who are also underage.

“We want to call the attention of Nigerians to this assault on our sovereignty. We want the foreign and developed democracies to take note of this action and hold the President responsible if there is a crisis before, during and after the elections.

“It is sad that the minister in charge of internal security of the nation was present. We know that they are planning negative things ahead of the elections. We just want to warn them not to plunge the country into crisis.”

Secondus added that the President had also demonstrated why his government had been treating the killer herdsmen with kid gloves.

But the President, Nigeria Voters Assembly, Mashood Erubami, said, “There is nothing unusual about the presence of the two governors with President Buhari. It could be coincidental but having to do with the joint efforts between them and the Kano State Government to confront the scourge of insurgency in Nigeria.

“The two governors are not registered voters in Nigeria and there is no possibility that they will mobilise their citizens across the borders without PVC to come and vote in Nigeria. It is unfortunate that opposition politicians always turn red to blue and would want gullible Nigerians to accept their agenda for the truth.

“I will advise those suspecting to be extra-vigilant during the elections. Also, voters must be vigilant too in their different voting centres to ensure that those who did not register in their vicinity are exposed and are not allowed to vote.”

Car Talk / How To Sell Auto Parts Online - Car Mart Nigeria by LadyNaija(f): 6:17am On Feb 01, 2019
Whether your customers are auto repair professionals, hobbyists, or complete novices trying a bit of DIY, auto parts purchases are always driven by need. That means convenience and ease of purchase is everything. Customers want to get out their phone, easily find the part they need and have it delivered to them quickly.
As the online auto parts seller, your challenge is making it easy to find and purchase specific products wherever your customer is searching. The solution requires an understanding of the unique and complex buying behaviour of an auto parts customer, and knowledge of the tools available to you.
There are lots of places to sell auto parts online, but the most popular choices are Carmartng, Amazon, and your own e-commerce site. We’ll go through the main features of each, and how they work best for auto parts sellers.

Selling Auto Parts on Car Mart Ng
Carmartng is probably the fast-growing car marketplace for people looking to get an auto parts business rolling with minimal investment. A lot of Car parts are currently listed on carmartng.com, with many active buyers.
Auto parts have always been a strong category for carmartng.com, and they’ve recently focused on improving the process of buying auto parts and introducing a host of new features to help both buyers and sellers.

Parts Compatibility
With carmartng, sellers can easily build lists of vehicles that their parts are compatible with.
You can build huge tables of compatible vehicles with just a few clicks. Instead of selecting each individual vehicle make, model year, and trim, you can select all trims with one click.
Parts tags allow listings to show up in searches, meaning that more buyers will find your listings. Tags data also helps buyers know they’re buying the correct part, reducing your returns rate and improving your feedback score.

Creating Trust on Carmartng
When it comes to seller trust, Carmartng customers look for a positive customer feedback score. Carmartng also allows sellers to apply a branded design to their listings. Professionally designed listings make it clear to customers that you are an established business and encourage trust. It also familiarizes customers with your brand.

Selling From Your Own Site
Similar to marketplaces, the biggest concern for you is to make it easy for customers to know what part they’re buying.
Until recently, competing with the search functionality of marketplaces was simply too expensive for small sellers, and even businesses that did make the huge initial investment would find a large inventory site difficult to manage.

E-commerce design specialists, such as Alabian Solutions Limited, have focused on making high functionality, easy to manage websites just for auto part sellers. Unique search functionality is built into BigCommerce’s easy manage interface to make auto parts websites that are profitable, manageable and scalable.

“Letting customers search by make and model gives even small auto parts businesses the same buyer experience as the largest auto part sites.,“ says Andrew Pinner, e-commerce product lead at Frooition.

To further increase buyer confidence, a live chat plugin enables you to advise customers in real time. Giving customers the ability to speak to an expert and get instant clarification about a product is proven to be one of the best ways to convert a sale.

Politics / Fayose React As Fayemi  Win At Tribunal by LadyNaija(f): 5:44pm On Jan 28, 2019
The Ekiti state governorship petition tribunal sitting in Abuja has declared Kayode Fayemi, governor of Ekiti as the winner of the last governorship election in the state. Fayemi victories were challenged by Kolapo Olusola of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Olusola had filed a petition, alleging that the election was fraught with irregularities and that Fayemi who ran on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) could not be declared a winner.  On Monday, the tribunal unanimously struck out Olusola’s case and ruled that Fayemi is the duly elected governor of the state.

Fayose on the Twitter verified handle react on the victory of Fayemi:

I would have been surprised at the judgment of the tribunal if it had been otherwise because the judiciary was already coerced by the APC led federal government. In fact, the judgement was in public domain and celebrated by APC since the last few days.

Politics / Buhari Must Go! - A Speech By Chief Femi Fani-kayode by LadyNaija(f): 8:49am On Jan 25, 2019
Blessed be the name of the Most High God, the God whose I am and the God whom I serve. Blessed be His holy name forever. In Him alone, we have our being and our strength.

He is the God of all that is. He knows the end even before the beginning. He is the God of all flesh. The Alpha and the Omega. The Elohim, the Adonai, the Yahweh God. He that comes forth as a mighty and strong man in battle.

He that cannot be defeated or resisted. Glory and honour and praise be unto Him forever. In Jesus mighty name I pray.

Fellow Nigerians I wish to say a few words about what is going on in our country today. It is a tragedy of the highest proportion that we have a president who is not fit physically, spiritually, emotionally or morally to continue to lead this country.

We have a president who just the other day in Warri addressed his party's governorship candidate as the presidential candidate. When he was reminded that this is not the presidential candidate but the governorship candidate, he addressed him as the party's senatorial candidate.

We have a president who just the other day in Lokoja, as he was mounting the podium to address a rally of his supporters, slumped and would have fallen, had it not been for the fact that he aides held him up.

We have a president who just the other day in Kaduna, as he was sitting down before another crowd of his supporters, almost collapsed.

We have a president who was on television the other day in an interview and sitting next to him was his vice president and as the young lady that was interviewing him was speaking all he could do was drool, dribble, look blankly into the air and mumble things that had no relevance or bearing to the questions which he was asked.

As a matter of fact, his vice president, who was literally there to hold his hands and guide him, was answering most of the questions on his behalf.

It was so bad that the interviewer had to say to the vice president, "why don't you let him answer these questions himself?"

That is the type of leader we have in Nigeria today. We have a president who in all his ways has been divisive, has been vindictive, has been cruel, has been insensitive and has chosen to destroy the unity of our nation.

The unity that was borne out of a very brutal and bitter civil war, in which millions of people were killed. The unity that came at a heavy price. And the unity that many of us seek to preserve despite the challenges that we are facing.

We have a president that has utter contempt for all the other arms of government. We have a president that seeks to remove the Chief Justice of the Federation.

We have a President that seeks to remove the Senate President. We have a President that seeks to totally and completely demean and destroy the media.

We have a President that seeks to bring the Nigerian people to their knees simply because he wants to remain in power at all costs.

We have a President that has no sense of decency. We have a President that seeks to intimidate and destroy all those that stand against him.

We have a President that believes there is nothing wrong in ensuring that every single security chief in our country and the heads of all the seventeen security and intelligence agencies are all northern Muslims, except for the Navy.

This is in a multiracial, multicultural and multi-religious nation like Nigeria where we have almost 200 million people. And this President believes that it is important to keep power in the hands of his own people at the exclusion of others.

We have a President who believes that he is a Northern Fulani Muslim before being a Nigerian citizen. He puts his tribe and his faith before his nation.

We have a President who has no sense of unity and who believes that the Middle-belters and Southerners and Core-northern Muslims that do not view the world like him are nothing but slaves and scum.

We have a President who was once a great hero during the Chadian war and who led our troops in that war with great honor, glory and courage but who has now degenerated and become what he is today: a man that is addicted to power, a man that is scared of his own shadow, a man that seeks to destroy all that oppose him and a man that has no sense of honour or decency.

May God deliver and guide our nation. May God protect the Federal Republic of Nigeria. May God deliver us from this affliction, this plague, this man who has become, in all his ways, absolutely reprehensible and a man that we can no longer accept as our leader.

I urge every single Nigerian to consider the election that is coming up next month and to understand and appreciate the fact that we have no option but to vote this man out of power.

If we want Nigeria to survive as one nation, BUHARI HAS TO GO!

If we don't want Nigeria to enter into a major conflict which will have monumental implications for the whole West African sub-region and indeed the world, BUHARI HAS TO GO!

If we want to ensure that our children and our children's children have a future in this nation, BUHARI HAS TO GO!

We have a President whose own party leaders including the DG of his Presidential Campaign Organization describes him as being utterly unfit to do the job and has said he has brought nothing but poverty and shame to the Nigerian people.

We have a President whose own supporters are ashamed of his actions and who only support him because they feel that they have no option.

We have a President who has always been regarded as a friend by Boko Haram and a President that has turned a blind eye to the atrocities of the Fulani herdsmen over the last three years.

We have a President under whose administration genocide, ethnic cleansing and mass murder had been conducted in Nigeria with impunity.

We have a President who sent his Army to slaughter over one thousand Shi'ite Muslims and thousands of IPOB youths.

We have a President who is intolerant: who cannot comprehend or understand the importance of tolerating those that do not agree with him or respecting the opposition.

We have a President whose purpose is to jail and destroy every single person that has opposed him over the last three and half years.

We have a President who in all his ways is totally and completely incompetent and is totally and completely vindictive.

We have a President whose own wife has said that he is not ruling the country and has said that two faceless and unelected individuals, whose names she did not mention, are the ones that are controlling him and ruling our country.

These are two unelected officials: we don't know who they are but his own wife has said that they are the ones ruling our country and that he is not doing so.

We have a President who describes women, including his own wife, as being only fit for the other room.

We have a President who goes abroad and at every given opportunity insults the Nigerian people, calling us corrupt, inept, lazy and totally and completely incapable of being decent and good citizens.

That is the type of attitude and these are the type of things that our President says about us to foreign leaders and foreign audiences.

We have a President who has contempt for the Christian faith, contempt for the Church, contempt for the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

We have a President who regards Muslims that does not view things as he does as not being good Muslims.

We have a President who was once described by Boko Haram as a friend and who was appointed by them as their negotiator in proposed talk with Jonathan's government.

We have a President who once said that he believes that sharia law should be spread into every state of the federation including the Christian states in the south.

We have a President who once said that an attack on Boko Haram was an attack against the north.

We have a President who once asked why Christians should be concerned when Muslims chop off their hands in the name of Sharia.

We have a President who once said that Muslims should only vote for Muslims. We have a president whose Minister of Information once said that it was unjust and unconstitutional to ban Boko Haram and to declare them a terrorist organisation.

We have a President who does not understand the importance of unity and peace but who is prepared to crush and destroy every single institution in this country and abuse power just to hold on to the reins of government.

We have a President who has contempt for anything or anybody that does not view things his way.

We have a President that has become a danger to himself and more importantly a danger to the nation.

We have a President that is simply physically and mentally unfit to continue to lead us.

It is time to remove Buhari.
It is time to vote him out of power.
It is time to return peace and unity back to Nigeria.

We have a President who has pushed a whole generation of young Igbo men and women into wanting to break off from this country.

He has pushed IPOB into leading a peaceful agitation for self-determination and the break-up of Nigeria. And his response was to declare them terrorists.

Meanwhile, he refuses to declare those that sponsor and support the activities of Boko Haram and the Fulani herdsmen as terrorists.

That is the type of President that we have. A man that sees those things that are good, wholesome and honourable as being evil.

And a man that sees those things that are evil as being good and honourable.

We have a President who is using elements in the South West that support him as his errand boys to enslave others.

We have a President that has no regard, that has no respect, that has absolutely no positive things to say or to think about his own people.

BUHARI HAS TO GO! That is the challenge that we have today.

And I say that it's time for us as a people to rise up and stop being cowardly. Stop being intimated. It is time to rise up from our knees and to say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

I would rather live a short life on my feet than live a long life on my knees. Like the great American independence war hero and patriot, Patrick Henry, once said, "give me liberty or give me death!"

In Nigeria, we are a people whose history proves one thing: we are strong, we are courageous, we are proud, we are capable of doing anything and we excel wherever we go.

All over the world, Nigerians are doing very well. Let no one fool you. We are a strong people. We are a proud people. We are good people and we are the pride of the African continent.

And I say it is time for us to look within and to ensure that we become that which God has purposed us to be.

I say it time to say no more to this man. This man that has no sense of decency or duty and that has no honour. This man that is soaked in blood.

This man whose government has inflicted more damage and more harm to our people than any other government in the history of Nigeria.

This man under whose government more people have been killed by militant extremists and by his own security agencies than any other government in our history and any other time in our history outside of the civil war.

This man that simply wants to remain in power at all costs and is prepared to do anything to achieve that.

I say it is time for us to say, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! To go out there and cast our votes in a peaceful manner and to ensure that he goes.

And I say one more thing: if he decides to stay in power even though he has lost the election and even though he has been voted out, I say it is time for us to say either we stand firm and ensure that he goes or let there be no country left for him or for us.

This is the defining moment. We will either ensure that we have democracy in this country and that we have a peaceful country where all citizens are regarded as being equal, where some are not horse riders and others are not horses, where some are not masters and others are not slaves: we either have that or we will have no Nigeria at all. And may God ensure that it does not come to that.

We want peace. We want to progress. We want justice. We want decency. We want righteousness in our nation. And above all we want God to rule in our affairs. Enough of this! It is time to get Buhari out of power by voting him out.

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. God bless you. God bless each and every person that has taken out time to hear this.

My name is Femi Fani-Kayode. And I am proud to tell you that I will stand against Buhari no matter what. I will stand against his evil no matter what.

And I will stand together with millions of other proud and courageous Nigerians and say no to his evil, no to his tyranny and no to this vicious and desperate man who seeks to destroy my people, the great and good people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

God alone rules in the affairs of men and in this world. God alone forges the destiny of nations. God alone should be exalted. God alone is capable of anything and everything.

The Lord will remove Buhari. The Lord will pull him down. The Lord will shame him. The Lord will shame his supporters. The Lord will ensure that Nigeria finds peace and unity once again and that we as a people love one another once again as we once used to do.

We will come back together as one people, whether we are Southerners or Northerners, Muslims or Christians or even pagans or atheists.

We will come back together once again as a united and blessed nation and be that which God wants us to be. But the first thing we have to do is to get Buhari out, restructure the nation and forge a new direction for our people. God will lead us, God will guide us and God will protect us. God bless you all.

(This speech was delivered by Chief Femi Fani-Kayode on 22nd January 2019 in Lagos, Nigeria)

Politics / ‘osinbajo’s Trader Moni Idiotic’ — Nine Highlights Of Obj’s Latest Letter by LadyNaija(f): 11:59pm On Jan 20, 2019
In a critical open letter, former president Olusegun Obasanjo has roundly chastised President Muhammadu Buhari and his administration.

Obasanjo came down heavy on the president in his state of the nation address tagged ‘Points for Concern and Action’.

In the strongly-worded letter, he accused Buhari of taking Nigeria back to the era of late military president Sani Abacha.

Although Buhari was the main subject of Obasanjo’s letter, he also criticised the Trader Moni scheme championed by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Below are highlights of his letter:

QUESTION MARK ON INEC’S INTEGRITY

Obasanjo said he is not convinced about the credibility of INEC to deliver free and fair elections, citing the precedence of the Osun state gubernatorial election.

He asked Nigerians to prepare for the worst from the electoral body.

“I personally have serious doubt about the present INEC’s integrity, impartiality and competence to conduct a fair, free and credible election,” he wrote.

“And if the INEC is willing, will the ruling party and government allow it? From what we saw and knew about Osun State gubernatorial election, what was conclusive was declared inconclusive despite all advice to the contrary.

“The track record of the present INEC is fairly sordid and all men and women of goodwill and believers in a democracy must be prepared for the worst from INEC and their encouragers and how to get Nigeria out of the electoral morass that the Commission is driving us into. To be forewarned is to be forearmed.”

‘BUHARI’S GOVERNMENT IRREDEEMABLE’

Obasanjo castigated Buhari over his anti-corruption war, saying he tacitly condones corrupt acts among his officials while taking swift action against members of the opposition.

He wrote: “It is no use, at this juncture, to keep lamenting about the failure, incompetence, divisiveness, nepotism, encouragement and condonation of corruption by Buhari administration as there is neither redeeming feature nor personality to salvage the situation within that hierarchy. You cannot give what you don’t have.
“Even when figures, facts and statistics are made clear to Buhari, he keeps repeating what is untrue, either because he cannot understand or for mischief purposes and that places him on the level of a pathological liar. He believes he can get away with impunity and deceit as he seems to have done on many occasions in the past.”

TRADER MONI IS ‘IDIOTIC’

Commenting on the TraderMoni initiative of the federal government, Obasanjo said Osinbajo must have gone for “if you can’t beat them, join them”.

He described the programme as “outrightly idiotic”, adding that there is a sinister motive behind it.

“Osinbajo has shown the human weakness and proved the saying that the corruption of the best is the worst form of corruption. His explanation that it was their government programme can only be construed to be very shallow and lopsided, if not an outrightly idiotic programme,” he said.

“What is the connection between taking the number of PVC (Permanent Voters Card) of the recipient of the N10,000 doled out to ‘traders’ and the forthcoming election? There is something sinister about it, and Professor Osinbajo, of all people, should know that.”

AMINA ZAKARI SHOULD STEP DOWN

Obasanjo advised Amina Zakari, national commissioner at INEC, to step aside “otherwise, it will be difficult to deny the rumour that she is being assigned to Collation Centre for one duty only – to write out figures that are not results of the voting in the field on fake results sheets without watermark or on genuine results sheets which she will have access to as a Commissioner”.

“Amina Zakari has become too controversial a figure to be able to give assurance of free, fair and credible election for INEC. President Buhari and her family have declared that there is no blood relationship but there is relationship through marriage and that is more than enough for the good lady to step aside,” he said.

“Madam Amina Zakari should, in honour, stay out and not be seen as a source of contamination of the election.”

ON ONOGHEN: ‘NO STONE LEFT UNTURNED TO RIG BUHARI IN’

Obasanjo claimed that there is a connection between the trial of Walter Onnoghen, chief justice of Nigeria (CJN), and the alleged plan of Buhari to rig the election.

Onnoghen is facing trial before the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) for alleged false declaration of assets.

“President Buhari and his hatchet men in the coming election think that the judiciary must be primed in their favour. Hence, the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Samuel Nkanu Onnoghen, has been harassed and prosecuted for non-declaration of his assets without following the Constitution and the law, just to make him confirm or set him aside for a Buhari man to take over or act, as President Buhari and his people believe no stone should be left unturned to rig Buhari in,” he said.

BUHARI NOT IN CHARGE

Reacting to Osinbajo’s statement that Buhari was not aware of plans to arraign Onnoghen, Obasanjo said it shows that the president is not in charge of the government.

He added that no Nigerian is safe or secure under this administration.

“But if that can happen to the Chief Justice of the Federation, the fifth man in the hierarchy of government, without the knowledge let alone the approval of the President, then it speaks for the type of government we have which means the President is not in charge let alone being in control and no Nigerian must take anything for granted. We are all unsafe and insecure under such an administration. And enough of it!” he said.

“Buhari has succeeded in deceiving us the first time and we will be fools to allow ourselves to be deceived the second time.”

LIKE ABACHA, LIKE BUHARI

Obasanjo accused Buhari of “mad desperation”, likening his government to the dictatorial era of Abacha.

He accused the president of using security agencies to intimidate the opposition while calling on Nigerians to “rise up and do what they did in the time of Abacha”.
He wrote: “His scheme bears eloquent testimony to this road similar to Abacha whom he has praised to high heavens and as an arch-supporter and beneficiary from Abacha, he has seen nothing wrong done by him. It is clear from all indications that Buhari is putting into practice the lessons he learned from Abacha.

“Buhari has intimidated and harassed the private sector, attacked the National Assembly and now unconstitutionally and recklessly attacked and intimidated the Judiciary to cow them to submission.

“Today, another Abacha Era is here. The security institutions are being misused to fight all critics and opponents of Buhari and to derail our fledgeling democracy.”

BUHARI DID WELL WITH IGP CHANGE

Obasanjo said he must give credit to Buhari for listening to public outcry and appointing a new inspector-general of police.

“I personally commend the President for yielding to the popular outcry to let the former Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Kpotun Idris, go when he is due as he had the track record and history of being assigned to rig elections for the incumbent,” he said.

“It was alleged that he was sent to Kano for that purpose in 2015. He was already deploying his Commissioners of Police on the similar mission before his exit.”

NO FEAR OF INTIMIDATION

Obasanjo said despite threats to probe and arrest him, he will not bow to intimidation.

“Here again, I have been threatened with arrest and extermination but I will not succumb to intimidation or threats,” he said.

“Maybe I should remind those who are using the probe as a threat that I have been probed four times by EFCC, ICPC, House of Representatives and the Senate and Buhari has access to reports of these probes.

“But I have also challenged Buhari and the criminals around him to set up a probe on the same allegations and I will face such probe in public.

“But I know that these criminals cannot withstand a Police inquiry let alone clinical probe on the past public offices they held.”

Politics / Are You Buhari Or Are You Jubril? - Femi Fani-kayode by LadyNaija(f): 10:36am On Dec 16, 2018
ARE YOU BUHARI OR ARE YOU JUBRIL?

“One of the questions that came up today in my meeting with Nigerians in Poland was on the issue of whether I‘ve been cloned or not. The ignorant rumors are not surprising. When I was away on medical vacation last year a lot of people hoped I was dead. I can assure you all that this is the real me!”- President Muhammadu Buhari, 2nd December, Krakow, Poland.

Some are convinced by these words from the man who says he is Buhari but there are still many who, like the biblical Thomas, have their doubts.

I can hardly blame them because a clone will not say that he is a clone and neither will a body-double say he is a body-double.

It is in the same way that a vampire will not say he is a vampire, a tyrant will not say he is a tryrant, a genocidal maniac will not say he is a genocidal maniac and a mass murderer will not say he is a mass murderer.

And neither will an ethnic supremacist or religious bigot ever admit to being an ethnic supremacist or a religious bigot. The blanket denial of ugly and hidden truths is the first law of the scoundrel and the natural habitat of the dictator.

Such is the way of those that have been intoxicated with power and that live by deceit, cunning and guile: they lose all sense of logic, reason and rationality and they flourish in a dark world of intrigue, subtefuge, deception, delusion and illusion.

Seven examples will suffice: Adolf Hitler claimed to be a democrat, Pol Pot claimed to be God-fearing, Atilla the Hun claimed to be an angel, Ghengis Khan claimed to be benevolent, Josef Stalin claimed to be a deliverer, Idi Amin claimed to be the messiah and Augusto Pinochet claimed to be a peacemaker yet history recalls that all seven were nothing but hideous bloodthirsty monsters and cold-blooded mass murderers.

An eighth example is that of the reigning Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, His Royal Highness Mohammed Bin Salman, who, in the light of mounting evidence to the contrary, claims that he is a just and compassionate ruler who had nothing to do with the gruesome murder and dismemberment of the American-based Saudi journalist, Jamal Khasshogi in the Saudi Arabian embassy in Turkey.

If there was ever a case of wilful self-delusion, unadulterated mendacity, byzantine intrigue and good old-fashioned double-speak, this is it. Sadly such deceitful, sociopathic and barbaric behaviour is not limited to those distant climes.

Many of those in Nigerian politics also betray this trait and are also afflicted with this sad and sorry disposition.

There is always a hidden truth, an angle, a grey area or an unseen dimension to everything that a Nigerian leader or politician says or does. It is in the light of this that I submit the following.

If President Muhammadu Buhari really wants us to believe that he is not Jubril Aminu Al Sudani I challenge him to have a two-hour inter-active no-holds barred live media chat on national television.

I challenge him to take off his hat and let us examine his head and hair.

I challenge him to let us measure his ears and inspect his earlobes.

I challenge him to conduct a one hour non-stop conversation in Fufude, the Fulani language, on national television.

I challenge him to explain how it is that he is now a good deal shorter in height than he was two years ago.

I challenge him to tell us how it is that two years ago he looked like his Minister of Information's (Lai Mohammed's) grandfather, but today he looks like the Minister's grandson.

I challenge him to explain why he has not been going back to the United Kingdom for regular medical check-ups after his "miraculous" recovery from a strange and debilitating illness that ravaged and wrecked his body and that almost sent him to his grave.

I challenge him to call out Eric Stuart Joyce, the former British MP, former Army officer and former MI6 agent, for declaring him dead sometime last year and for accusing the Nigerian intelligensia, authorities, media, intelligence agencies and ruling elite of being complicit in the conspiracy and the Nigerian people of being the most gullible and naive in the world.

I challenge him to explain why he did not appear with any of the key world leaders in any of the official pictures during his last trip to Paris.

I challenge him to explain why President Donald Trump described him as "lifeless" and ordered his staff never to bring him before him again.

I challenge him to explain why the First Lady, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, claims that two faceless, nameless, shadowy, strange and all-powerful individuals, whose shoes other government officials "lick", are running the affairs of our country and not him.

I challenge him to explain why he has refused to give one formal press interview to Nigerian journalists and on Nigerian soil for the last two years.

I challenge him to deny the fact that body-doubles were often used in the civilised world during the 1960's, 1970's, 1980's and 1990's for security reasons and they often represented Presidents, Prime Ministers and Heads of State at official functions and events.

Finally I challenge him to tell us whether it was a coincidence that Haibu Almu, the Nigerian Consul-General to the Sudan and NIA agent that allegedly discovered Jubril Aminu Al Sudani and proposed him as a credible and convincing body-double for the ailing Buhari in 2016, was suddenly knifed to death in Khartoum in May 2018 just a few weeks after his alleged role in the whole sordid "body-double" saga was made public.

I do not believe that Buhari is a clone but I do believe that the body-double allegation and rumour is worthy of our attention and consequently needs to be thoroughly investigated, explored and examined.

Though I cannot vouch for the veracity of this allegation and rumour one thing is clear: a significant number of Nigerians do not believe that the man in Aso Rock Villa is the Buhari that they know and, rightly or wrongly, their perception is that there is something fishy going on.

Given their disposition and suspicions, I submit that there is only one course of action that can settle this raging issue conclusively and bring closure to it: a DNA test organised and administered by a highly respected and certified foreign medical practitioner who must be jointly approved and appointed by the World Health Organisation, Medecins Sans Frontieres
and the Red Cross and who must conduct this crucial assignment under the direct supervision and auspices of the United Nations.

A jocular and dismissive statement from the distant shores of Poland saying "I am not a clone" will not make this matter go away. And neither will a predictable affirmation from the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chief Chris Ngige, that the President is the real Buhari provide the necessary evidence or assurance.

We demand to know the true identity of the person presiding over the affairs of our nation and, if it is indeed Jubril Aminu Al Sudani, we wish to know where our beloved President Muhammadu Buhari is and what they have done with him.

No matter how absurd these questions may appear to be to some, this is a democracy and we have a right to ask them.

Yet the truth is that nothing surprises me anymore in Nigeria and consequently I believe that anything, including the absurd, is possible.

If we can elect a man that cannot produce (and in my view never had) a WAEC certificate as President and one that can celebrate the fact that he was awarded an "attestation certificate" from WAEC in 2018 at the ripe old age of 80 (yes 80), then the assertion that we are being ruled by a body double is entirely possible and cannot be completely ruled out.

That is how degenerate and degraded our country has become over the last three years and six months.

The worst atrocity that the President, the Federal Government and the ruling APC party has inflicted on us as a people over the last 42 months is not the genocide that we have suffered under them, it is not the mass murders and it is not the ethnic cleansing.

It is not the fact that our country is now the most dangerous place for women to give birth to in the world, it is not the fact that we now have the highest illiteracy rate in the world and it is not the fact that more Nigerian children are out of school than any other country in the world.

It is not the fact that Nigeria now has the highest number of child brides and practising pedophiles in the world, it is not the fact that there are now more beggars in the streets of Nigeria than any other country in the world and it is not the fact that Nigeria is now the highest producer of HIV positive babies in the world.

It is not the fact that 40% of our people and 70% of our graduates are now unemployed, it is not the fact that 50% of Nigerians are now living in extreme poverty, it is not the fact that our stock market has lost over 2 trillion naira in one year and it is not the fact that our country is now the poverty capital of the world.

It is not the fact that we are now the third most terrorised nation in the world and it is not the fact that we are now home to the first and fourth most deadly terrorist organisations in the world.

It is not the fact that over the last three years and six months the naira has depreciated by over 150% and it is not the fact that our government is attempting to bribe voters with public funds in the name of "trader-moni".

It is not the humiliation, abuse of power and vengeful and vicious persecution that those of us that dared to resist them over the last three years and six months, that had the courage of our convictions and that remained loyal to our party have been subjected to.

It is not the storming of homes, arbitary arrest and unlawful detention of key opposition figures, it is not the harrasment of their family members or the freezing of their bank accounts and it is not the fact that we have sank lower than ever before in our entire history on Transparancy International's international corruption index.

It is not the fact that Priti Patel, a British Member of Parliament and the United Kingdom's former Minister of State for International Development, has warned foreign investors not to invest in Nigeria because the Government refuses to obey court orders and it is not the fact that the International Criminal Court at the Hague (ICC) has accused the Nigerian military of committing crimes against humanity.

It is not the fact that we are now more divided than ever before along religious, ethnic and regional lines and it is not the fact that the Federal Government has destroyed our economy and thrown 14 million people into penury and unemployment over the last three years.

It is not the fact that they have emboldened and strengthened Boko Haram, it is not the fact that law and order has broken down under their watch and it is not the fact that they have consistently nurtured, supported, assisted and protected the cruel and murderous herdsmen.

It is not the fact that they have lied to the Nigerian people and to the world that they have defeated Boko Haram, it is not the fact that the West African branch of ISIS now carries out terrorist operations in various parts of our country and it is not the fact that a new and utterly ruthless Malian militia now carries out terrorist operations in the north west.

It is not the fact that they have insulted CAN, marginalised Christians and humiliated the Church and it is not the fact that they are shielding and protecting military officers and Boko Haram members who committ atrocities.

It is not the fact that they have slaughtered thousands of Shiite Muslims and it is not the fact that they have demonised IPOB, labelled it a terrorist organisation, butchered thousands of its youths and sought to destroy it even though its members have never threatened violence, attacked or killed anyone, waged an armed conflict on the state or carried guns.

It is not the fact that 13.5 million Nigerians voted without a PVC in the 2015 presidential election and that 75% of them did so in the states where Buhari "won".

It is not the fact that they have wilfully refused to sign the Electoral Act Amendement Bill, it is not the fact that they have blatently refused to heed the patriotic call for restructuring of the country and it is not the fact that they have looted, stolen and plundered more public funds than any other government in the history of our country.

It is not the fact that one of the greatest sons of Africa and one of the most respected and reverred world leaders and elderstatesmen that has ever lived, President Olusegun Obasanjo, recently and rightly said when commenting on the performance of the Buhari administration that "only a fool will sit on the fence or be neutral when his or her country is being destroyed with incompetence, corruption, lack of focus, insecurity, nepotism, brazen impunity and denial of the obvious".

It is not the fact that every single Nigerian former Head of State and President has given the Buhari administration a vote of no confidence and has refused to endorse them for a second term.

As frightful, scandalous and unacceptable as all these failings are, not a single one of them demeans, diminishes and damages us more than the possibility that, for the first time in our history and indeed the history of the entire world, a massive multi-religious, multi-ethnic and multi-cultural nation such as ours is saddled with a President that many genuinly believe is not who he says he is and that some believe is a foreigner and a body-double!

Politics / 2019: Politicians Cloning Pvcs In Imo - Commissioner Alleged by LadyNaija(f): 6:48pm On Dec 15, 2018
Resident Electoral Commissioner in Imo state, Prof Francis Chukwuemeka Ezeonu, has raised the alarm that some desperate politicians are bent on sabotaging the 2019 general elections by cloning the Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs in the state.

Ezeonu, who spoke in Owerri through the unveiling of the Amalgamation Of Imo Professional Bodies and Associations, AIPA pleaded with the residents of the state to stop handing over their PVCs to anyone.

He alleged that those engaged within the act were working hard to undermine the credibility of the election, stressing that: “Every vote will count in Imo state in 2019.”

The REC stated: “I've come to appeal to you to ensure that people collect their PVCs. As we speak, there are over 500,000 unclaimed PVCs in Imo state.

“We have resolved to visit the about 650 communities in Imo State during this festive period to make sure that people collect their PVCs.”

He added: “Our people, especially IMO people are very reluctant about elections. Some people are now cloning PVCs for the purposes of rigging elections. Let me swear to you that nobody will rig elections in Imo state.

“This election that I am in charge must count. Nobody will rig elections because we are working had to ensure transparent processes. Tell your people to go and collect their PVCs.”

AIPA chairman, Chief Emeka Diwe, said that the Association was working with INEC and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that the elections were credible.

Politics / Am Afraid, Youths Must Retire Old Politicians - Oyegun by LadyNaija(f): 8:17am On Dec 09, 2018
The immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, has opened up on several issues concerning his party, especially on the circumstances surrounding his exit as the chairman of the ruling party.

Speaking to Sunday Sun in Abuja, the former Edo State governor revealed his fears for the 2019 general elections, what he is missing most since leaving office and what the Nigerian youths must do to permanently retire the old politicians, among other issues.

He told the Sunday Sun "I have decided to deliberately and totally stay out of controversy because we are in a system that is so dynamic and so active that whatever you say is capable of either being misinterpreted or not being particularly helpful. I have decided to keep away from the politics of who is right or who is wrong. As an elder statesman, I want to make an appeal first in the general polity for a lot more decorum and for our leaders to keep away from distractions and none issues. The social media is full of such terrible distractions, insults and humongous percentage of clear patent falsehood. This seems to have become the main issues whereas they are mere distractions. Such issues as whether people have a certificate or not, whether they went to school or not, and quite a lot of other manufactured stories against prominent individuals. It looks as if the past time is the search for scandal rather than an attempt to build up issues, debate alternative approaches. We all know the problem of the country, who has answers to these problems and what are the answers.

"I was basically an originator because I knew that what we were doing while in opposition was wrong. We in opposition truly want to present our nation with a democratic choice. We need to build a party that can be comparable in levels, strength and acceptability to the Nigerian public not for them to keep saying that they don’t like them yet they don’t have a choice. Having been an originator to that process, it will be extremely difficult to see myself elsewhere. Yes, the party has issues and problems, but you don’t run away from the party because it is passing through a phase or difficulty. I cannot run away. I will rather give what I have to patch the cracks. We will maintain the direction and goals we have set for ourselves otherwise the fluidity of the movement does not make sense and does not show commitment. Yes, there are difficulties, but they are meant to be addressed, sorted out so that the party does not lose its soul and the message that brought it into being. Those are the critical issues. The real problem comes if a party stands in danger of losing its bearing in those respects. I am APC and I don’t see myself somewhere else. I cannot just quite envisage it."

Webmasters / Free Vs Premium Wordpress Themes (pros And Cons) by LadyNaija(f): 2:07pm On Dec 05, 2018
We are often asked by beginners how to choose between free vs premium WordPress themes. What are the advantages and disadvantages? If you too had those questions, then you’re in the right place. In this article, we will discuss free WordPress themes vs premium WordPress themes (pros and cons).

Pros of Free WordPress Themes
First, we would like to mention that when we say free themes, we mean free WordPress themes that are listed in the official WordPress.org Themes directory.

We DO NOT recommend users to download and install any free themes that are distributed by other unreliable sources.

It’s Free

The biggest benefit of a free WordPress theme is the cost, free. It lowers the barrier of entry to starting a blog.

However, hearing the word free makes many people cautious. Why would someone give you a free WordPress theme when others are selling premium themes? What’s the catch?

Often people think free themes are low quality. It’s quite the contrary.

Strict Review Process

Free WordPress themes are actually held to a higher quality standard. All themes in the official WordPress theme directory go through a strict theme review process.

There are some very talented folks in the theme review team who examine and test these themes before they are included into the directory.

You can see this checklist of the theme review process.

Free WordPress themes are tested for standard compliant code, support for standard WordPress features, quality HTML and CSS, security, privacy, etc.

As you can imagine, it takes talented developers to build quality WordPress themes that get approved in the official directory.

But why are they giving it away for free?

There are lots of benefits of giving and sharing.

It helps theme developers sharpen their skills because, during the review process, the theme review team audits their code and suggest improvements.

It also gives them a chance to make their theme available to a large user base where people can use it, give feedback, and suggest improvements.

Other advantages are building a reputation as a skilled developer, building a portfolio, getting paid jobs for customization of those free themes or even develop a custom theme for clients.

So while the free themes are definitely good, there are some disadvantages.

Free WordPress themes usually have fewer options

Disadvantages of free or premium WordPress themes can be very subjective. What one person would consider a disadvantage, may not be a cause of concern for many others.

These are some common disadvantages of using a free WordPress theme:

Limited support options – Free WordPress theme developers offer support through WordPress forums, but they are not obliged to reply to support queries.
Limited Features and Functionality – Even though free themes support most standard WordPress features, many of them don’t offer extra features like creating buttons, using shortcodes, create landing pages, etc.
Not so Unique – Free themes are used by a lot of websites and blogs, so your website will not have a unique design. Also, there are usually limited options to customize the visual appearance of free themes.
No Obligation – Free themes are distributed with no warranties, so if something goes wrong, you are pretty much on your own.
If you use a free theme, and it doesn’t have a specific functionality that you’re looking for (please don’t leave a 1-star rating). You didn’t pay anything for this theme.

Instead, if you ask nicely or make a small donation, the developers are much more likely to add that feature in.

Here’s how to properly ask for WordPress support and get it.

Pros of Premium WordPress Themes
Premium WordPress themes

Unlike free themes, premium WordPress themes are available for purchase from numerous third-party WordPress theme shops and marketplaces(theme forest net).

More features and customization options

Elements you can drag and drop in Divi - A premium WordPress theme

The biggest advantage of a premium theme is that you get more features and customization options.

Due to the competition in the premium theme industry, theme shops are always trying to offer more features at lower prices.

As a customer, you get themes that contain options like drag and drop builders, shortcodes, multiple layouts and templates, and unlimited color choices.

Support and Updates

Premium WordPress themes come with regular updates and support.

Primarily because these theme shops are actually making money vs doing it for free.

More Unique

Because there’s a cost associated with premium themes, they’re less frequently used when compared to free themes.

Not to mention the customization options give you the ability to personalize your theme.

Combining the two, your website will stand out and look unique.

Cons of Premium WordPress Themes
Performance of premium WordPress themes

Not all premium themes are perfect.

Here are some common issues that can be a disadvantage.

Poor Code – Sometimes you may end up buying a premium theme that looks pretty but has poor coding standards which could make it incompatible with some plugins. Mainly because these themes don’t have to go through a strict review process.
Too many features – In order to sell more themes, theme developers can add too many unnecessary features into their themes. You will probably never use all those features, but they are still there making your website slow.
Crossing over into Plugins domain – Sometimes WordPress themes can cross over into plugins domain, offering functionality that they are not supposed to offer. For example, creating custom post types, shortcodes, and other things that would disappear as soon as you switch theme
How to find premium themes that are really as good as promised?

The easiest way to find a good reliable premium theme is by buying it from one of the trusted theme shops and developers.

The two well-respected premium WordPress theme shops that we recommend are StudioPress and Themify.

For drag and drop page builder, we recommend using Beaver Builder.

You can also check out our showcase sections for more theme shops that we like and trust.

Know what you are buying

Remember that when you are purchasing a premium WordPress theme, you are not hiring that theme shop or developer to set it up for you. You also don’t have an exclusive license and theme developer does not offer any warranty.

Most good theme shops will give you access to their documentation and support forums where you can get more help if needed. This preferential support is actually what you are paying for.

Any good theme shop should have a good support system, documentation, and help available for you to set up your theme.

I am confused… How Do I Choose?
When choosing a WordPress theme for your site you need to ask yourself a few questions.

1. Do you really need lots of features, custom theme admin options, sliders, and other goodies for your website?

2. Can you troubleshoot WordPress issues on your own or you need help with them?

3. Do you want a professional looking theme that’s not very common or you are fine with a basic layout?

Politics / Akwa Ibom Lawmaker Sack Over defection to APC by LadyNaija(f): 11:55am On Nov 16, 2018
Lawmakers sack Idongesit Ituen representing Itu state constituency who defected from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC)

Onofiok Luke,  speaker Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, has received the court judgment sacking a state lawmaker who defected from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), the House of Assembly has said.

Mr. Ituen had filed a suit in September at a federal high court in Uyo to pre-empt the speaker of the assembly from declaring his seat vacant after his defection.

But the court, in its judgment, dismissed the main suit and granted all the reliefs sought by the speaker, which included an order of the court restraining the speaker from further recognition of Mr. Ituen as a member of the assembly.

“Being a declarative judgment, the Honourable Speaker wishes, therefore, to state clearly that as a law-abiding citizen, a lawmaker and a lawyer, he has abided by the court order.”

“The Speaker of the Akwa Ibom state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Barr.) Onofiok Luke, was this morning served with an enrolled order conveying the judgment of the Federal High Court of Nigeria restraining him from further recognizing Hon. Idongesit Ituen as a member of the Akwa Ibom state House of Assembly,” the spokesperson for Mr. Luke, Kufre Okon, said in a statement on Thursday.

Celebrities / Kim Porter: Celebs React To Death Of Model, Diddy's Ex-girlfriend by LadyNaija(f): 11:33am On Nov 16, 2018
Celebrity tributes are pouring in for model Kim Porter, the former girlfriend of rapper Diddy.

"Sadly, I can confirm the passing of Kim Porter. I ask that you give the families privacy at this time," her representative, Cindi Berger, confirmed to USA TODAY.

The model and actress, 47, was found unresponsive in her San Fernando Valley home in Toluca Lake Thursday, where she was pronounced dead, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner.

TMZ reported that authorities responded to a 911 call of a "patient in cardiac arrest."

However, it's not clear what Porter died of. "At this time, an autopsy is pending and a cause of death has not been determined," the coroner's office said.

Lee added that the call came at 11:38 Thursday morning.

Singer Lenny Kravitz reflected on "the times with you and your family over the years," adding they "will be treasured." "Rest in power Kim Porter. My condolences to the Combs and Porter families," he continued.
