My friend, If you already have a job then make comparison. But if you don't have a job then go for it. Treat the place like you would treat your home when expecting very important visitors and this you must do daily. As for benefits, free food naaa plus take away everyday, outside your salary. 4 Likes |

Politics / Re: UK To Fight Boko Haram by niddamugu(m): 3:20pm On Mar 15, 2012 |
Godman_n: 1. Different strokes for different folks - How about the USA? Can you say the same about their constitution? In Britain, at the micro level, they are guided by policies, but you can say the above about the center. The case of Nigeria has gone beyond where you cannot put pen on paper to guide you and with the right policies in place, the country can achieve greatness. 2. Accept my unreserved apology. It was not intended to cast a shadow on your person. Meanwhile, in putting the policies in place, there should be massive enlightenment campaign to the populace, at least with people like you and me and Nairaland in general, we can achieve. On a personal note, don't you think the center is too weak to make and take critical decisions? (Boko Haram in mind) |
Politics / Re: UK To Fight Boko Haram by niddamugu(m): 1:39pm On Mar 15, 2012 |
Godman, I feel your passion but unfortunately, you have not proferred any clear solution(s) except promoting yourself as a "Goodman". What you intend doing is working to transform the leadership of our gr8 country Nigeria when you get "up" there. My take is this: for any system to work effectively, that system must be driven by the right policy (document). And what does this mean? It means our policies are not just right. It does not matter who is at the top provided he is working within the confines of the policies, then all will be well. Our constitution is very very faulty. Take the bible for example, if a christian cannot prove his words or actions from the bible's perspective, then it is either right or wrong depending on what it is. My simple transformation idea for this country is to set up regional government as of old. If we say we have 6 geo-political zones, then let's have 6 regional heads of government and these heads would report to the man/woman at the center. Government parastatals also should be regionalised i.e. all ministries can and should not be present in all regions except for peculiar ministries. E.g. what is Niger/Delta ministry doing in Abuja, or "Boko Haram" ministry doing in Lagos? This is just a tip of the iceberg. There may be fear of revenue allocation (the reason why the center seems a fortress), every area should control its resources and the policy should also state what percentage should go to the center. Besides, the policy would have stated what remuneration should be due to whoever that wishes to assume that position. That way, we can be rest assured that there is no "monkey business" anywhere. Only sincere people would want to go to the center to work because there is "nothing" to loot. What has been going on since the last 20 years is - plant your crops on your farm, harvest your crops and bring them to the center (incur cost on transport and logistics), from the center take fraction back to your base and develop infrastructures and where necessary support can come from the center to assist your development (which never comes). In summary: 1. revisit the constitution 2. create regional governments 3. Allow for resource control 4. The center should policy formulator not revenue "allocator" |

What this simply means is that we don't have any borders at all and that's why there are leakages everywhere. No wonder Ibori could escape without being noticed, cash could be laundered without going through any bank and at the same time anything can come in also without being checked. May God help us in this country. |

Religion / Rev. King’s Devotees Attack TB Joshua by niddamugu(m): 7:25pm On Mar 14, 2012 |
The police in Ikotun division Lagos prevented a religious crisis after seven devotees of condemned Rev. King allegedly went to the home of Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua of Synagogue Church of All Nations at Egbe-Ikotun and verbally attacked him. The seven devotees suspected to be members of the of Christian Praying Assembly, CPA, founded by the condemned Rev. King, were arrested and charged to Ejigbo Magistrates’ court Lagos State Southwest Nigeria, for allegedly attacking T. B. Joshua. The suspects include Nwachukwu Ngoma, 50, Peace Chinwendu, 28, Peter Emodi, 20, Obuwase Wisdom, Ngozi Ikechukwu, 40, Chinyere Nwoke, 45, and Eze Chinyere, 35. The suspects and others now at large were alleged to have pretended that they were preaching the gospel and stood in front of Prophet Joshua’s home and casting aspersion on the man of God. Apart from Joshua, other men of God including Bishop David Oyedepo of Winners Chapel, Pastor Kumuyi of Deeper Life Bible Church and Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, were not spared by the devotees who called them thieves and fraudsters and rained curses on them. Their action created religious tension in the area and the residents denounced their preaching and called the police. A team of policemen from Ikotun went there to disperse them and arrested the seven suspects while others fled. It was not yet clear why they did that but P.M.NEWS gathered that the group was not happy with the increasing popularity of some men of God including Joshua. The were charged before the court on a two-count charge of felony and conduct likely to cause breach of public peace under sections 516 and 249 of the Criminal Code Cap 17, Vol. 2, Laws of Lagos State 2003. They pleaded not guilty. The presiding magistrate, Mrs. M. B. Folami granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum. The matter was adjourned till 5 April 2012. They defendants were ordered to be reporting to the court every day until their bail was perfected. http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2012/03/14/rev-kings-devotees-attack-tb-joshua/ |

A self acclaimed spiritualist, Adewale Salami, 35, has been arraigned before Oshodi Magistrate’s court, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria for allegedly defrauding a company worker, Yinka Kayode to the tune of N11 million on a false pretence of helping him to perform rituals to kill his employers so that he would take over the company. Yinka who was a staff of Chivita Company Limited located at Ajao Estate, Lagos, reportedly approached Salami and asked him to perform some spiritual work so that he would terminate the lives of his employers and own the company. Salami promised to do so if he would pay the money. Yinka reportedly went with the money to Aviation Estate, Mafoluku, Oshodi started paying him the money to the tune of N11 million.
