Thanks for your reply friend
Can you tell me anything about Apeldoorn city. Is it a good one what type of people there ?

You welcomed. Every city in Netherlands is good, just that others have better student job opportunities than others.

Friends , my MVV approved and I took appointment for vise in Ambessy .
Anybody can tell me what they ask me in interview and much days it will take to stamp my visa on passport? Please reply me fast . Thank you

Congrats, well there is little or no questions asked, just verification and confirmation of your data as the actual student. It is not in their power to issue or deny the Visa as far as its already been approved by IND in Netherlands. Welkom

Its quite funny what i have read regarding life in Netherlands. I always advise friends and people who want to move to Netherlands. First have a SOLID plan on what and how to survive. Do NOT depend on finding a job as a student because almost ALL employers will NOT hire you because they do not have the time to apply and process your Work Permit for you. I equally advise people to make sure you apply to a very reputable University were you have good chances of having your International student office assist you in finding an employer during summer. Lastly, Netherlands should be like a gateway to Europe for you if you cannot afford to study here, moving your course after the first year to Germany or any other University in Europe is extremely easy. Make proper plans that will have option A,B and C. I have heard from many people who have nationalized in Netherlands and they always say that Holland is not a recommended country for first timers, its hard if you don't have a lot of money and backings. But all in all i will still advise those who plan to move to Holland to proceed because here is the heart of Europe, never listen to anyone telling you that been a black in Netherlands means you cannot get an office work, that's BULLS. I have a friend who will be graduating before me in the same course have already gotten a offer letter from Philips Electronics which is a Dutch owned company. The blacks you see with no office work are mostly uneducated, from black countries once colonized by the Dutch.

Hi guys, I am new to this site. thanks for your comments. I am also faced wt the problem of collecting my mvv for study at Accra. What documents are required from me, so I can prepare before hand. I cannot book appointment as there are no slots, though my school has sent the embassy an email. Please wat documents and how long does it take in Accra... Please please.. reply

The last time i checked, you need your LOA, Passport, 4 copies of Passport photographs, School Transcripts. Well basically you are not required to produce anything other than your Passport and passport photographs, but you know its Ghana and long trip from Nigeria, so just go with all your documents and everything you think might be deemed necessary. You are to receive your MVV sticker on same day or maximum 2days from submission. Remember to legalize your birth certificate as its MOST necessary for registration at City Hall to get your BSN. All the best.

Thanks for your insight pdesmond1. I don't plan on supporting myself via a part-time job, the hassle that the employer has to go through to hire me makes it almost impossible for them to hire me over a local(EU) student. I might earn some extra money online(I'm a programmer and I can already work remotely) or on some little projects if I have the time.
About the Dutch language, I am already learning it on my own and I'll try my best to practice it more over there, seeing that that will up my chances of getting a job after I graduate.

I will let you guys know how my process goes, so that the thread stays up to date with the current regulations.
All the very best.

Well the thing is that the statement can't be older than 3 months and mine isn't(just one week old). On the invoice they give the amount to pay and then they state that an additional proof of 6,000 euros is necessary. Maybe if they really needed that money to be in my account at all times they would add it to the refundable amount(3,500) that I was supposed to deposit on their bank account.
Well since you have submitted the statement, you just have to wait to hear from them. It usually takes 4-5weeks or so. Remember to have adequate plans in place for your finances before moving to Netherlands. Jobs for Non-Eu students is practically non-existant, except you speak good Dutch which I assure you is one of the most tongue twisting language. But quality of life, that I guarantee you is nothing but the very best.

Hello emmerks. I have also been accepted to Fontys. I would like to know if you had any problems because of the Bank Statement they ask for.
I have made the payment(Tuition fees, Visa application fees, insurance and deposit for IND) but I'm worried that they might decline my visa application because of the Bank Statement. Everything seems to be in order on my Bank Statement(three documents) but I would like to have some reassurance. I did the bank statement with the same money that I used to pay the school. I would like to know if that will be a problem.

@xkris11 and @pdesmond1 , I would very much appreciate your help as well.

Thank you everyone who contributed to this thread, it really helped me, but some of the regulations seem to have changed now.
Please reply as soon as possible. Thanks.
Yes you are right, most of the regulations have changed. Since you printed a copy of the statement of account before paying for the tuition, they might query for a new statement, their is high possibility that they will calculate the final balance of the statement of account you submitted and subtract the entire money you paid, and if the remaining isn't to the required amount, they might deny it or ask for a more recent bank statement. During my application, the school have full responsibility in ensuring the successful outcome of your MVV, unfortunately it isn't so as of now. The good news is that once your application is approved, you will be issued a Residence Permit that will last for the entire duration of your study, meaning that if you are coming for a Bachelor degree which have a duration of 4 years, then your Residence Card will bear a duration of 4 years. All the best.

Am a secondary school graduate, I finished two years ago and since I finished I av been trying to get admission but to no avail,so my father and I decided to look abroad for admission.During my research,I got to know about "RACUS" (representing Russian
state universities abroad and enrolling international
citizens for studies) so I went to the website and I was directed to their representative here in port harcout.
The representative and I have undergone the first phase, in which I paid $200,luckily I av received an admission letter which looks a little bit authentic which confirms that I av been admitted to study civil engineering at federal university of north Caucasus Stavropol, Russia.
We are about entering the second phase where I will be paying the sum of $5460 dollar equivalent to #1.1 million naira for tution and other expenses.
My fear is that I don't want to lead my father into the hands of some sophisticated scam organization,it will be unbearable considering his age and the struggling and hustling his facing to give me financial support
please and please I need advice,HELP.

@hayzed14,
I understand your fears, in my own humble opinion, these days it have passed the stage whereby people pay some individuals to secure admission for them . According to your post I guess you are still very young and inexperienced in handling the day to day life in Russia. Why don't you look for admission somewhere within Western and Central Europe were life is quite better suitable for a first timer abroad as yourself, for e.g, Czech Republic which pays approx 2000-3500 euros per year, Hungary, France, Spain, and some others. According to your bouget you have approx enough for studies in these countries and also have better opportunities of working while studying. You also have lesser racial biased comments and physical confrontations. But if you have already made up your mind, I will advise you to go online, search for the website and contact details of the University you were offered admission and verify your admission letter before further financial commitments. I wish you the best.

Fonty University.Bachelor.
I am not on any scholarship.
but i am asked to upload my sponsor bank statement and bank declaration on visacare website before approval of MVV.

Ok, i see they keep changing things consistently. Try to contact your university to see if you can skip that for the moment since you have paid Financial guarantee which shows enough fund for a year. Also see if your sponsor can contact the branch manager of his bank to see if he can get you the declaration without him been there.
This new changes isnt quite good, probably soon the IND will slash of the visa processing by the universities. When your visa is out, let me know so i can advise you on the scholarship. Goodluck bro.

If you have transferred the financial guarantee to the university, then i dont see why you need additional bank statement as dutch universities process visas for their accepted students. Are you going for Bachelor or Masters?

I dont know much on football for students. But am sure if you are a good player you will be able to play for your school or go weekend football local games. From there if you are skilled and lucky you might be invited to join the city's football club and from there so it goes. All depends on your skills and luck. But you stand good chances as a student.

Hehe... It seems they value bikes more than cars there..... The best type of lock will be Odeshi.....When they steal the bike, the person will end up speaking some local African language instead of Dutch to the extent that he won't be able to say 10Euro to the buyer.....lol

Anyways, what is the average budget for a Typical naija dude with very simple lifestyle....Besides, can one play soccer a.k.a Football for a local league and attend school at the same time?

Will certainly put that under consideration. I thought you already in Netherlands. Here all depends on your life style. If you live decent student life 500€ should be enough for all expenses for a month. Ofcourse if you dont go to the stadium to watch Ajax fc and co, lol. Its sunday with awesome weather, better to enjoy it before winter comes...

Getting a job after graduation is not as easy as Desmond have put it. As at when I graduated, you must have a job that pays you atleast €28,000 which is not quite easy for many people even after getting your MSc degree. I graduated from TU Delft which is a very top and oldest Technical University in The Netherlands as there are only 3 Technical University in the Netherlands (TU Delft, TU Eindhoven and Univ of Twente) and companies do come to recruit students before they graduate. The unfortunate thing is that most companies refuse to employ Non EU graduate because they have to prove to the government that there is no qualified Dutch or EU citizen before they can employ you which is quite tough. But if you are coming for an Engineering/ Science based degree, then you have a much higher chance of getting a job because there are always better opportunities for Engineer/ Scientist and you don't have to speak Dutch to get such jobs most times. But for those coming for humanities studies, I will not advice you to waste the high tuition to come in The Netherlands because nobody will pay you €28,000 after graduation and you will most likely have to leave after the 1 year search expires.
The point is things are not as easy as people present it because I know alot of Nigerians that had to leave the Netherlands after one year of doing menial job in The Netherlands post graduation. Infact more people leave than remain after graduation because they don't want to remain illegal and continue doing menial job after getting an expensive foreign education. Many of the guys that go back to Nigeria, end up getting much better job than they were doing in The Netherlands while so many other leave for other countries for further studies because it is much easier to go to US, Canada and any other country you can think of with your Dutch degree.
If you are coming to study in The Netherlands, the primary aim should be to develop yourself and get a very sound education because if you come with the aim of working from day 1, then you would most likely be disappointed. Also for an aspiring MS student, you must have the first year tuition and cost of living to be able to survive properly because raising €12,500 for tuition alone for a school like TU Delft is tough when you are only allowed to work for just 10 hrs in a week. Even the Dutch and Europeans don't have that money to pay for tuition.

2good you seem to have gotten me wrong. I have NOT in anyway make it sound easier or more difficult than in reality. I'm giving analysis from present/current developments as i reside here and worked in ISO. Getting a job without basic knowledge of Dutch is very difficult, the possibility might be slightly better if you reside in big student cities and other large cities. In my understanding from ISO the 1 year residence card affords you all the rights to be selected and work in any company/organisation without the employer making any so called notice for Dutch/Eu nationals. If he is able to get an employer to hire him after graduation and is paid within the average salary between 1400-2200 euro per month then everything will be just fine. The requirement for dutch fluency can be a big obstacle in been hired. So everything boils down to the possibility of getting an employer who will hire you, if you succeed in doing so, then you should be just fine.

Thanks for your time on this. I really appreciate it. It not easy to use your time to type all these info.
If I get your msg clearly, if I can afford the 1year fees for msc and living expenses. I ll likely be able to stay put after my program there.

The possibility is quite high, this is because you will be able to get 1 year of residence permit which allows you to look for work and be able to work. Once you get the job, you or your employer can file for extension of your residence permit. After uninterrupted 5 years of working, you can apply for permanent residence card.

kennycanny: Hello all, can someone kindly shed light on this question, especially to those already in Holland. Is there any legal opportunity given to student to work and stay after studies in Holland?
Just trying to know b4 committing such big money to this dream.

Two things are involved. First, you have to understand that according to the terms on which your study residence permit is issued, you are not allowed to work. But if you so desire to work, you have to meet an employer who is willing to hire you and also file for your Work Permit as you cannot do this on your own. The complex part of this is that the process is most times hectic, time consuming and most employers decline the offer of hiring you as a foreign student especially if you cannot speak Dutch.

Secondly, you are not allowed to work more than 10 hrs per week during your study semester, this with an exception on long holidays were you are permitted to work as many hours as you so wish, but again you still need a work permit to do so.

Finally the reality is that even if you succeed in been hired for a part time work (10 hrs per week) there is very low survival rate for you and you cannot afford to live and pay your tuition fee from your earnings. You can apply for your a residence permit after your graduation which is mostly valid for 1 year, this allows you to look for work within the validity of that permit. Your university will assist you in this application, so be well assured that it will be granted. So if you can afford your tuition for the duration of your study, then by all means coming to the Orange Country is worth it. All the best.
