It is better to say 'I heard... '

I wasn't born then too but I heard and read from government textbooks and wikipedia that Buhari and his deputy, Idiagbon, abhorred corruption and that Nigerians were forced to be disciplined during their regime.

I also read from Wiki that there were beliefs that IBB toppled Buhari's government because corrupt officers and politicians were threatened by Buhari's stance against corruption.

You read right. You are very correct.

I heard about his stance towards corruption too but people then complained about overreaction and high handedness from his back then harassing civilians and all that

Anyway, I'm not voting for anybody so I wish him the best

I do want any. How can we still vote in Goodluck? I'm not going to talk about Buhari, Apc are jokers with Buhari. Change my ass. How is buhari a change. It seems as if the parties are imposing leaders on us. What will happen if we don't like all the contestants the parties present. And here the op is presenting two piles of garbage, abeg go and sleep. You are insane.

I say elect Buhari to get rid of the old thieves that have a hold on Nigeria--AND THE OLD PEOPLE AND THEIR ARCHAIC IDEAS, PERIOD--- in one fell swoop. I'll explain my logic.

75% or so of Nigerians are under the age of 45yrs old. Thats a heck lot of young people to be severally placed in financial slavery and job insecurity by a group of old men; some of them already in their 90's . *Cough cough* Anenih. This becomes even more troubling when you realize that Nigeria's population---according to official reports--- is fast approaching 200million.

The old men will never give up power, and as they grow older and die off, those that still exert some kind of power and influence just transfer such to a corrupt protege whom they have groomed in ways to scheme off the Govt. So if you think that GEJ will do your future a favor and go against Edwin Clark, Anenih, Bamanga Tuku'rs kids, IBB, Obasanjo and co you need to wake up right now from whatever slumber you're in. But if he leaves them on the streets that means they all have to eat, right? So, they'll scramble for funds and nobody will touch them---money meant for the Nigerian people stolen right under their noses--- nothing happens because the oga cannot touch certain people because they are untouchable. So the cycle continues. The same group of people continue fleecing Nigeria and occasionally--- to send messages to their rivals---they have them indicted in court on flimsy charges that they will all settle over Champagne when they'll eventually agree on the percentage formula to start splitting money together again.

Ok, so the Nigerian youth (and population in general) is faced with a dilemma ; they want a young man but one that won't steal and inspires confidence etc. They can't find any that they all agree on. Only an old man fits the criteria you all desire, its time you face that realization. You can, however, USE THE OLD MAN TO WIPE OUT THE OTHER OLD CROOKS---PLUS THE YOUNGER ONES--- so that Nigeria operates on a level playing field and eventually the youth will take over because they are more in tune with the way the world is run. They are technologically advanced than the generation before them and can take over and shine only if the same rules apply to every one. Nigeria's youths need a country where you don't have to pay bribes to the Police to carry out their duties or pay off a lecturer with money or se*x to get good grades. PDP will NEVER give you such a country. For 15yrs they've shown you this much. If you're not rich in Nigeria, you're as good as dead. If you think PDP will someday just have a change of heart and start caring about you and provide you with basic amenities that ordinary people should reasonably have courtesy of their Government, then, you're sillier than your Fathers and Grandfathers before you who fell for the same tricks time after time, again and again.

You have a chance to snatch back your country from the people that have hijacked it. Do not let illogical bigotry blind you to the truth.
