Lol. After all Steve Uzoechi's talk about Orlu transformation, it was MUM - no mention - of the govt proposed Imo-European University, the only project that could have truly transformed Orlu if opened soon. Hmm, make the next occupant of Douglas House no convert the place to a zoo, and instead, open more govt university facilities in Owerri.

I know you would look for something to complain about. I read somewhere that the construction activities in the University has reached an advanced stage.

It did not take late Evan Enwerem three years - it took him less than three months - to temporarily locate and open present IMSU in the heart of Owerri, despite the existence then of FUTO, degree awarding AICE and PolyNekede - all in Owerri, and despite the availability of better sites then in Orlu and Okigwe areas, and despite the protests then against his actions. Let Imo-European University, Ogboko open now as a full public university, or as a multifaculty campus of IMSU. Who can kick against that in Imo state?

IT IS PDP PEOPLE LIKE YOU THAT SLOWED DOWN PROGRESS IN IMO STATE. HAD OHAKIM PERFORMED AS ROCHAS HE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN DEFEATED IN THE ELECTION. IMO STATE HAVE NOT AND WILL NEVER GO TO THE DOGS !!!
Nwanne you hit the nail on the head. Imo PDP will find it hard to convince the electorates to vote them into Douglas house next year. Other parties may even come close in giving Rochas a run for his money, but definitely not PDP. Imolite are ever waiting to scoop their stolen money, yet won't hesitate in voting for their choice candidates.

You've come with your other moniker to sell lies. There's nowhere in Nigeria all the roads are good. In fact if only the aforementioned places are the bad spots in Imo then its the best in Nigeria. I travelled from Owerri to Orlu on a road under construction which has reached 70%. I was highly impressed because I never read about it anywhere or saw anything about it on TV. Apart from constructing the highest number of roads in Nigeria which we all know but some of you choose to claim blind to that fact, road is not the only evidence of development. There is evidence of increased population of wealthy people going by the rate of new palatial houses springing up everywhere to complement the new roads within a record short period of time. There is free education at all levels. There is improved security. We now have a standard health diagnostic centre and also cancer centre in Imo State. New industries have sprung up and "diasporans" are now investing at home. Owerri our State capital is so neat one can eat food from the roads. Propaganda of looking for some few bad roads in few slums cannot change that fact. Orlu is now a growing city with future and rescued from stagnant decades. I've not been to Okigwe to ascertain its level of improvement. Most of the villages now have their roads tarred and over 200 schools have been completed. 27 hospitals are being built and many are at very advanced stage. I'm happy with Okorocha and proud of the Imo State I saw 3weeks ago. The difference in 3 years is unbelievable and is almost comparable with 7years of other States.

My take remains that a lot has been done since 2011 but much is also left undone and at the rate Okorocha is working if his successor continues at that pace, 10 years from now we should be the 1st truly developed State in Nigeria.
I'm in love with this pictures of yours. Sharp, crisp and quality pictures. Well done Abagworo.

Industrialisation, Only Way for Sustainable Development – Imo Commissioner

The Imo government said on Monday that industrialisation remained the only avenue for a sustainable economic growth.

The state’s Commissioner for Informal Sector, Mrs Ugochi Okoro, made the assertion in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Owerri.

Okoro said that sustainable economic growth would only be possible through new investments in manufacturing.

According to her, the state government has provided leadership by building industries in some local government areas.

Okoro said the international market built by the state government in Obowo Local Government Area had boosted development in the area.

She said the state government would re-open the Avutu Poultry, the shoe industry and other industries established by previous governments.

Okoro said the government had created the enabling environment for investors to harness and maximise profit in Imo.

“This government has created a level playing ground for everybody to excel. The issue of insecurity like kidnapping and armed robbery has become a thing of the past in Imo.

“We want people to come and invest in this state because we have all it takes to protect them and their investments,” she said.

Abagworo/Abagoro is doing a good job for his master. He is really working hard for his money. The Bible said woe to those that call evil good. Imo gwuru agwu. The painful aspect of substandard construction work is that we will spend another money to excavate and dispose the materials used before remedying the work. This implies double expenditure. A well constructed road may cost more but will remain in service for long. What is the need of constructing roads that will serve only a couple of weeks? Why can't our roads be like the ones in Akwa Ibom, Enugu, Ebonyi, Lagos, Abuja etc

You are funny Mr. What exactly is wrong with the pictures you just posted? What I see there is obviously broken pavement. I also implore you to enter inside gutter and snap dirty water or better still enter mechanic village and snap the oily ground. It will also not be a bad idea to go searching round the State for every bad road, school or refuse dump to prove your false point.

B2mario, If I am anti-Rochas, all I shall do is wait for election time and we carry out serious anti-Rocha campaign all over.

Having the Ogboko university facilities as private cannot sell, above all, private university makes tiny or no development impact on the people and area it is located.

Brandishing a school of health as tertiary institution which Orlu needs is not being serious by Gov. Okorocha.

Mass education is key to development in an area, Orlu people must, as before, continue to dissociate from its politicians who only build markets in the area; such politicians propagate ignorance in the area. Orlu needs a full multi-discipline university or multi-discipline university campus.

Early 2012, Gov. Okorocha asked the federal government for a new federal university in Imo state. He was strongly supported by Senator Uche Chukwumerije.

Last February, E. Iwuanyanwu from Owerri asked federal govt for more university facilities and teaching hospital to be LOCATED ONLY IN OWERRI.

Prof. V. Onwuliri from Owerri area is now in charge of Fed. Ministry of Education; more possibilities for increasing university facilities in Owerri; with continuation of propagation of ignorance and injustice in Orlu area; as Gov. Okorocha govt plays around PRIVATE over the university facilities it has been building in Ogboko?

Shady26,please ignore that shameless fool. The more you respond to him,the more he acts foolishly. He is well known to issue empty threats and he claims to be a member of SSS. Chino is a mere driver to a one time political official of Peter Obi.
Biko ignore him and let this thread not to be derailed.
