Irrespective of the circumstance, its still in your best interest to ace the exam brilliantly.

Please educate me on this. When did a VO become an admissions officer? There is separation of duty and all the VO needs do is assess you to know if you are fit to enter the country. Your standardized test score isn't a criteria for visa in any way.
Your standardised test scores is very much a criteria for a student's visa to be issued to a student.

I know of a girl,a friend of mine who was simply denied cos her SAT was so low..she did everything well and when she presented her SAT to the VO the VO frowned she saw it in her face and he said I can't grant you visa at this time.Someone, here who was denied to cos of low GRE.

During my interview, mine was asked for I gave him my IELTS which was the last question and last document he asked for and I got my visa.

Please,we should not decieve ourselves here and say standardised tests do not go a long way to help us out at the embassy..do everything neccessary and leave the rest to GOD.

God favor is what matter most, we have see people on this thread that no single document was ask for by the VO, you can't say cos someone is deny cos of low score mean that another person will be deny best thing is to hand over to God. My 50cent

I concur with you and I am pretty much obfuscated as to why GboyegaD keeps misleading potential F1 visa applicants. How can he say that your test score isn't a criteria. That is absolutely wrong and misleading. The applicant's packaging really matters alot, but presenting a very good test score to the VO automatically boosts your chances.

We all know its God's favor, but that shouldn't be an excuse for not preparing ourselves to the best of our ability.

Really? So why bother taking the exam if the score does not matter? VO looked at your GRE paper and you did badly then the VO said....it doesn't matter....just want to know if you attempted it?

We are hyping the role of the VO here. He decides if you get the visa our not based on his overall satisfaction. When he ask for your standardized tests, he isn't asking to assess you and he doesn't decline your via based on your scores.

Young man, you could get denied if your score is not impressive and quit arguing unnecessarily please. Stop misleading people.

If you ask me I will tell you he wasn't willing to give the visa to the applicant at that point in time and not just the score. The confidence you possess when presenting the results matters. If standardized tests scores was a requirement for visa then those who never took the test shouldn't get their visa approved.

I'm sorry but you are wrong. What is the point of taking an exam if the score does not matter? To know if you know how to take an exam? Of course the VO will be worried if an applicant going to US as a student hasn't passed GRE exam. If the VO bothered to ask if you took GRE and requested to see it then all eyes are on the SCORE

You would have to ask the VO, you can be denied for low test scores which depends on the discretion of the VO. There is nothing to drag bro, I only made my point clear, its a fact not assumption.

I hear you and I'm not dragging anything with you. I only stated my opinion and if you believe your opinion is the fact, no problems.

I never said people shouldn't get good scores if you read through the transcript. My point is you don't get debited based on your scores and if you have to pay for an exam you need study well to get good grades however, if you don't do too well you don't have to beat yourself up.

I couldn't agree more with you seun, but for the sake of avoiding unnecessary argument with the young man; I suggest he is entitled to his own opinion and my concern is for applicants reading his comments who would think VO won't worry about scores and I am saying this for record purpose, The test score is one of the major criteria in 90% of all F1 student visa success.

Thank You

No we have to make an afford to set the record straight here, lets not give people false hope, if the VO asked if you took GRE exam and demanded to see it then score matters.

Exactly my point. And 90% of student visa interviews, VO would ask for tests taken except on rare occasions when they don't ask for scores. Thank you for setting the record straight.
