You are shooting from too many angles.

And you have picked India out of the many countries of the world that share the history of colonialism and slavery like Nigeria. Lol

So, let me pick just the same one: India. Where do you want to compare India and Nigeria? To begin with, many Nigerians go to India for medical reasons. Many doctors in Nigeria are Indians. Many companies in Nigeria are owned by Indians. What is the reverse situation? Indian universities are becoming global institutions, some are ranked among the best in the world, certainly in IT and Engineering. Nearly half of the IT experts in Silicon Valley are Indians. India has produced a governor in America, the head of the powerful USAID (which gives millions to countries such as Nigeria) is an American of Indian Origin. The scientific and technological indications emanating from India are light years ahead of those from Nigeria. This is just india, let alone Singapore, Brazil and the other countries.

What is India's GDP compared to Nigeria?

Of course, by virtue of its higher population, there are still millions of poor people in India. But do the math by weighting the population of India v Nigeria, and see between them which is, overall more advanced.
It is IGNORANT and SENSELESS comparing India, a country of 1.2 billion people, to Nigeria. India has a larger population than AFRICA itself. Why would she not have more industries and more good hospitals than Nigeria? If you want to rate India, you rate her against Africa. NOT Nigeria. And rated against Africa, India is POOR and BACKWARD. India has 100s of millions of people without electricity and education. Malnutrition is rife. Their so called good health care is beyond the reach of hundreds of millions of poverty-stricken Indians. Those are the latest studies, and I dropped a link. So go and read and learn and stop feeling inferior. One last thing. It is DUMB to place all ex colonies under one umbrella. Some colonies, like Hong Kong, SA, etc were developed by the colonialists, while others - primarily black African - were simply looted of their resources, with no tangible investment in the local economies.

And there you have it folks, the reason why Nigeria is the way it is today is apparent is the first two pages of this thread.
That someone decided to speak about the ills governing his society makes him a hypocrite
Asking him what he has contributed and why he is running away.
Here is the truth guys, people who have things to offer this country cannot stay in this environment. It takes a lot of guts, bucks and tenacity to stay in Nigeria and try to make things work because even if you try to make a change, the naysayers here will be the same set of people saying "your grammar is too much, go and sit down".

When majority of the populace have a rethink from the current way their minds have been programmed to think, technocrats, innovators and many more people who have people to offer will do so.

As things stand, Nigerians (note: not Nigeria) are not worth fighting or breaking your head for.

Indians probably have some 10% or more of Africa's investments, especially in East Africa. Their hold on Nigeria and other WA countries is also significant. How many African investments are in India?

India's overall GDP is likely higher than that of Africa. Have you checked?

How many Indians benefit from Indian private investments in Africa, apart from a few billionaires? Africans have no need to invest in India because there is nothing there compared to Africa. Africans are investing in Africa. India has very few resources so their elite have to look outside.

YOU sound too fixated on your foreign (everything white and light is better) world. When people like you finally begin to feel some racial dignity instead of constantly feeling inferior to everyone else, then we can listen to you. In the mean time, go check your head. India having 'nothing' means in relation to places like Africa, not that they have 'nothing at all'. Phew.

Africa has oil, more land, more resources than India, yet we essentially are the same with them. Yet they have strong investment in our land and we not in India. What does it tell us?

This post has not told my life story even 0.00001% for you to suggest that I chickened out, and thus a coward.

On the contrary, the possession of dual citizenship could better help one achieve what one has in mind for Nigeria. Do you not think so?

U are a rational being and very humble as well.

You really would seek any and everything to feel inferior to others won't you? Perhaps Africa's GDP surpassing India's by nearly $700 billion makes India unattractive to Africans when Africa still has loads of markets to satiate. You see, once you rid yourself of inferiority complex, you start to see the reasons for everything, which go beyond your present, lazy, simple-minded 'black is bad, white is good' explanation for everything. Africa may have more land than India, but half the African land is uninhabitable desert, and another quarter dense forest. The oil is overrated. Kuwait alone has larger reserves than Nigeria, Libya and Angola combined.

India is doing a much better job than Africa in lifting its very poor out of poverty. I know this first hand because I am involved.

My friend you are a wicked lair and you are part of the enemies Nigeria has within,i have just called a friend in the state and he informed me that the united states swears in new citizens two time a year and the next batch has not yet been sworn in yet,so were did you get this your fake citizenship, secondly you were running your mouth mentioning figures of countries when you probably have been to just one,you people are the once who go out to give Nigeria a bad name and mislead the world rather than been good Ambassadors, may God forgive you

Why do I have to name specific countries I have visited to you? Next, you will ask to see the stamps in my passport, yes?

Dude, you are pushing this and making it personal, with a lot of insults. Can we discuss the topic and not me, please?
Nigeria belongs to all of us and the earlier we learn how to take criticism (I have not even dissed any political party here) of our country, the earlier we can grow out of our problems. If you think Nigeria has no problems, then you must be living in planet Mars. I was in Nigeria as late as August, and would be there again December. You do not know the nature of my profession.

Op runs away to US to get a better life,in a country people sacrificed to build, Nigerian doctors with better intellect and academic qualifications that can easily migrate to USA stays behind to help build the country. By staying behind, they were well positioned to save the day when Ebola came calling, and some of them even paid the ultimate price in the process, but in one wave of hand, the Op attributed their victory against Ebola as luck/ nature help, he was only re echoeing the words of his white gods.

Op. You and your types, are part of the problem we have in Africa.

OK, spectroscopic, I think you need to listen a little bit to what some people are trying very hard to tell you.
Many people here also have US or an EU citizenship. They just don't boast about it because it doesn't make them special and they don't see anything special in it. The colour of your skin and your DNA doesn't change after you are given US citizenship. Your ancestors are still Nigerians.
Your relatives are still Nigerians.
The fact is that people like me and many others commenting know one thing: No matter where you go and no matter what you do, you are a Nigerian and if you forget then they will remind you of it.
My friend, your write up shows that because of your new us citizenship, you seem to think you are somewhat superior to the rest. You took the position of the guy who has made it and who is passing judgement on the losers who didn't make it.
instead of boasting about your US citizenship (which is just a paper and is not special in any sense), you should rather be planning on how to help Nigerians and promote Nigeria's image. If you have a well paid job in the US then why not save up and come back and open your own business in Nigeria, like that you will make a lot of money and create jobs and services for your brothers.
I believe an American president said "don't ask yourself what your country can do for you, ask yourself what you can do for your country".
Right now you are euphoric because you have just been given us citizenship, but as time goes by you will join the club of disillusionned naturalized people. Because, if you look around you then you will see that each one of those guys also have the us citizenship, including the beggars, the mentally ill, the terrorist (which is an other type of insane person), the suicide victim and the prisoner and the guy being discriminated against.
America is a special country in which the whites are racist against black people and the African americans are racist against the Africans. Yes African americans do not consider themselves africans and they like to call Africans names like African booty scratcher.
If you want to survive the upcoming years with pride and honour intact then never forget who you are and where you are from.
Nigeria for life !
Nigeria is the only country you can really call your own (at least without fealing like a liar or a moral prostitute)

@ Op I think you are being economical with the truth.

1. You got your citzenship today, october 30 2014 right .... based on the title of your thread.

2. You inferred that you worked for USAID from you conversation with ROSSIKE

See last i checked the agency though an independent federal agency only employs American citizens except " foreign contractors" which you are not as you live in the US

Does that mean that you were hired before, during or immediately after you got your citzenship.

It simply doesn't add up.

I would have loved to engage you in this conversation , but ROSSIKE as ususal is doing a very fine job.
