In thirty minutes, I was done clearing up my room and sweeping the parlour...

I dont know what made me walk up to Cynthia's room but I noticed it wasnt locked so I stepped in.

I felt a chill immediately I entered and I got scared because I had this stupid thought that she might be there watching me.

I sat on the bed and realized that this was the first time in some years I'd stepped into her room.

I looked around and noticed some posters of rap artists on her wall, ranging from Eminem to Lil Wayne et al.

She had a good sense of music and I cried when I realized we loved the same artists. I really thought we were two very different people but just spending two minutes here brought me closer to her.

I was still thinking of her when I heard music playing, I became triple scared as to who was playing that song in her room, After some seconds, I realized it was my phone ringing.

While breathing a sigh of relief and laughing at my stupidity, I picked the call without checking who the caller was.

"hi, goodmorning...." he said, that was when I checked and saw It was Nnamdi...

"hey whatsup.." I replied.

"good good good...." he said and chuckled. "uhmmm was thinking If we could go out today, you know, just hang out at any place of your choice, you can bring your friends..." he said.

My mind immediately re-directed to Eve, me no get strength for her wahala.

"what about Eve, did you tell her?? " i asked.

I noticed a frustrated sigh, "she told me she's travelling today to PH.." he said. "she doesnt seem to have my time theses days......" he was saying, but my mind wasnt registering what he was saying. I was just thinking of who Eve was going to see in ph.

The only family there, just moved to Abj, leaving only their mother back.

" Alma..... Alma.... Al..." he kept calling before I jumped and shaked my head as If to shake off the thoughts of Eve.

"Sowie..... Yeah, Uhmm, I'l see you later, i'l come with my cousin..." I said feeling stupid.

"you mean Eve" he asked in an excited tone.

"sorry to burst your bubble, I meant my other cousin, Frank... Eve didnt tell you he was staying with us now" i asked while he gave another sigh.

"no she didnt, no p sha...." he replied.

"okay, uhmmm, lets go to Inner Bar, if its okay by you..." I said.

" where is Inner bar??" he asked and I couldnt resist the urge to laugh, I mean who stays in Otwn and doesnt know Inner bar??

"uhmmm, sorry for laughing" I said... "It's at Akwakuma.... Just keep driving down, you'l spot it, It's not difficult to locate.." I concluded.

"okay, just send me the time okay??" he asked,

"yeah sure..." I said and hung up.

I left Cynthia's room immediately and bumped into Eve on the staircase, she just sighed and walked past me.

I entered my room and saw Frank sitting on my bed.

"no be you talk say make I chop quick??" he asked..

"you dis boy, you too like quarrel... Dae your lane joor.." I replied, not wanting to apologise.

"no wori...." he said.

"ehen, bros, e get pesin wey I wan see o, you fit folo me go??" I asked.

"mmmmmmmmmm...." he murmured, acting like he was thinking...

"nor dae do dat mosquito sound joor, you know say your answer na yes, you dae like flex... Do make we comot jare... Ehen, which time you wan go" i asked.

"around dat kin 11 - 12, how you see am.." he asked.

"no yawa sha, now na 10:45, do go wear cloth.." i said.

"but who you dae go see??" he asked.

"aproko, go wear cloth abeg, and wear very sharp cloth o, so those people wey wan buy you go gimme plenty money, as I dae here now, my body need money.." I said and shuued him out of my room.

We got to Inner bar around 11:30 and I spotted Nnamdi at the far end of the room.

We walked up to him and exchanged pleasantries and also introduced the both of them.

We joined him on the table but I had my back turned to the door.

We ordered for drinks and fish, and got talking.

Some two hours later, Frank's phone rang.

"guy whatsup, how you dey?" Frank said. There was silence coz I guess he was listening to his friend.

His face squeezed into a frown as he hung up.

"guys i have to go now, sorry, something came up." frank said.

"no problem." Nnamdi said.

Frank hugged me and left. Some minutes, I saw shock written on Nnamdi's face, he was looking towards the door.

I turned around saw Eve walking towards us witha devilish smile on her face.... I froze.

"I knew something was going on between the both of you.." she said.

"nothing is going on betw---" i was saying before she cut me off with a slap.

"I wasnt talking to you, biitch, learn to speak when you're spoken to." she yelled.

Tears welled up in my eyes, and I could feel people's eye's boring into my back.

Nnamdi was speechless. He just had his mouth hanging open.

"you prostitute!! I'l deal with you.. So this is the reason you were always questioning me for?? Ashewo, boyfriend snatcher." she yelled.

"Its enough Eve!!" Nnamdi yelled..

I couldnt take it anymore as the tears were running freely now, I ran out from the bar but not without hearing these words, "you'l surely pay Alma, trust me you will."
