Hi friends, I was not granted Visa today at d consulate in Abuja. Below is my story and please I will be welcoming your comments and judgement to make me well equipt for my next appointment by the special grace of God. It goes like this.

Me : gud morning
V.O: Silent
Me: Good morning ma
V.O: pass me ur documents please
She scan through my documents starting with my passport then spent more time looking at my I-20. Noticed I was awarded a scholarship of almost half the tuition.
V.O: Why do you want to do MPH
Me: I gave her a convincing and detailed answer.
V.O : Nods head and ask: why U.S
Me: told her about hw committed U.S is to excellence, flexibility and all dat
V.O : who is ur sponsor
Me: My dad
Asked for his statement and I gave her
V.O: looked through the statement for like a minute, then turned to her computer and was busy typing, then she handed a white paper to me and said sorry bla bla bla. And returned my passport and I-20.
The first sentence is ' dear applicant, this is to inform u dat u hv been found in eligible under section 214(b) of the U.S immigration and nationality act. A denial under section...................means u did nt meet d requirments of d classification of d non immigrant visa for which u applied for'

Pls house help me out on what I need to do as I plan to book for another appointment. Thank you
kindly make your interview transcript detailed..so we can pinpoint where you slipped..

Sorry about your denial!!

Gurus,,,Goodday

Southern illinois University Carbondale or Edwardsville.

Which of these two would be good to apply to?

Thanks.
I applied to SIUE on a whim and got an admit even though i may not be attending as i got admits to all my other preferred programs. I hear carbondale is slightly more regarded than SIUE. But i really like SIUE, it's quite affordable and in a relatively good location with about 35 mins from st louis missouri. A few nairalanders like mandybaby2007 are studying there and have good things to say about the school. They don't ask for recommendation letters, which was my no. 1 reason for applying, lol grin grin . They will pay for your i20 to be couriered via dhl or fedex and have airport pickup servcie for you when you arrive. They've been very helpful and professional to me through out application season compared to other supposedly highly ranked schools. The other negative i can think about is the weather. illinois weather no be for here grin

There are some useful resources on the page but to have access to their quant and verbal question bank i'm afraid you'll have to fork out 99 dollars or 79 dollars for a solo option. There's no hack for magoosh yet. If you can find someone who isn't writing the gre immediately( or withing the next 3 months) maybe u both can do a joint plan to help defray the cost cos i agree its quite high.

Hi guys, I'm new to the visa application process.Had an agent book the visa interview.I have the confirmation page and all supporting receipts and documents.Where i have an issue is if i am required to fill the DS 160 form prior to the already booked interview, sign and print out. This is confusing because i'm under the impression the agent filled a DS 160 form to be able to secure an appointment in the first place.do i have to fill the DS 160 form again before the interview? Also, how does this differ from what was filled by the agent to secure the appointment in the first place? Please help a novice out.detailed answer will be appreciated.

fellow nairalanders,
I had HND mechanical engineering at the polytechnic Ibadan in 2010,and presently gainfully employed, a friend's friend promised to help me secure admission for my post-graduate in the states, and true to his word I was offered an admission at langston university, Oklahoma for the fall session 2015 but for computer science and at undergraduate level,i have payed the sevis fee @ seme border and the visa booking fee at GTB in October 2014, hoping to book an appointment in November.

but I think I would not be booking any appointment any longer because I have just been offered admission for PGD at FUTA.

so my question is
1. can the sevis/visa booking fee be transferred to someone else/ used by someone else?
anybody in the house that needs it should reply/message me
sorry it can not be transfered

anytime you feel you're ready. You can even reschedule for next week.

You need to state your case, so we would assist you with where you had issues and where you failed to connect
