No sir, i disagree. the crashes hpnd cos of technical and logistics ish on our part and also lack of maintenance. China has improved greatly in building fighter jets. try south korean fighter jets too. i share ur sentiments buh the only alternative for us is Russia or maybe France, buh i doubt if france will sell the dasault to us(based on colonial ish with Uk) Uk on their own no too dey into fighter jets odawise BAE for don dey arm us as per colonial ally. radars used as at 2001 civilian within the new york districts had limitations.well you are absolutely correct.according to many articles and documentries i have watched abt the incident..the air controllers were to lax....they noticed the deviations to late or didnt know what the problem was.so the aircrafts were not out of range

These kinds of purchases are usually announced. In fact Nigeria is duty bound to announce such acquisitions to all ECOWAS states, it is a procedure that many nations follow.

i doubt it. There is no reason to since it cannot be made locally. China/Pakistan will only have their personnel in Nigeria to maintain it and we will pay for it just like the Hinds.
Personally, i think it is a bad idea. not a fan of a one engine jet fighter
I posted the you-tube featured aircraft sometime ago. As we strive to create a modern air-force, this type of aircraft should form the majority of our basic fleet, therefore our third best assets, then we'd have more sophisticated second and first rated fighters. Buying from Pakistan and India firmly places our ambition as typically African.

In many ways the Scorpion does look like one of those patronizing technologies created for the third-world market but it has the advantage for us of being modern and something we could take apart and learn from how to build our own indigenous air vehicles.
I think Nigeria is "a typical" African country and there is no need to pretend we're not!!! Nigeria is struggling with: 1- Electricity 2- Health care facilities and Medical Personels 3- Motorable Road network 4- Standard Airports 5- Pipe-borne water (Both safe enough to drink and clean enough for ordinary laundry) 6- Railways and other methods of transportation 7- Communication: telephone, internet etc 8- Financial control and financial security (it's NOW more difficult to steal Gov't money and Ngozi is tracking all ministerial payments!!!)
the list goes on and on.
I thank God for President GEJ as it is under his watch that the first significant progress was made in aleviating these problems.
Now, back to topic: you need money to buy a fighter jet. you need money yo fly a fighter jet you need money to "pack" a fighter jet you need alot of money to get an American or European to live in Nigeria and "service" your fighter jet!
Nigeria still dey far but we're trying. Akwa Ibom state government is making a massive investment in this direction and it takes alot of time.
We are Nigerians and we are Africans but we dey try....
