For people who do not understand, or still refuse to understand:

if every Imo state governor is like Rochas Okorocha who holds strongly to the belief that the capital development budget of the state must be deployed on providing modern development infrastructures in only the state capital, in due course, most of Imo state population shall migrate to that expanding state capital - Owerri - for comfortable living. And shortly, the capital shall have ugly SLUM suburbs.

I shall repeat - without mincing words:

in four years, Gov. Okorocha's development projects outside the state capital, Owerri, are the attempts to expand some roads in Okigwe and Orlu, as well as in other rural roads - but most of these road projects are either abandoned or yet to be completed after nearly four years - as shown by photographers on this thread.

Imagine the level of arrested development in a town whose roads are scraped and disjointed, with electricity poles knocked off for more than three years. Gov. Okorocha never tried to have such situations in Owerri.

Trust Anambra state governors, nearly every community in Anambra state is swiftly provided by the state govt with modern infrastructures;

the three zonal towns of Awka, Onitsha and Nnewi mostly account for a large share of distribution of govt development infrastructures. That is how a state is run.

The objective to create states in Nigeria was to have even development of all areas in the state, NEVER to try to make any state capital a "New York" overnight, while the rest of the state is being overtaken by rain floods and weeds.

Please forget the lies. Orlu as can be seen is completely transformed and so are almost every nook and cranny. It is left for people from there to tell us what they see. I was there and took the pictures myself. The only uncompleted road then was old Owerri road and everywhere has developed. The towns you mentioned are not in any way as good as Orlu whose major roads are all dualised with functional drainage and streetlights. A highway from Owerri to Orlu is nearing completion with full length drainage and streetlights which cut across 1/3rd of Imo State. Okorocha has done very well in spreading development everywhere and is the only Governor that did that. My recent visit to Akwa Ibom was an eye opener to media manipulations.

Lol,this guy is on another level.
Do you even try to read out to yourself what you write before posting them.
I like Obiano but I still admit he needs to put in more work.
How can you openly say Rochas developed all nook and crany of Imo?
People will not respect you when you lie like that.

I am very frank and truthful. Development is provision of hospitals, roads and schools. Every LGA in Imo State got a high dose of these 3 basic facilities.

You have a very big self esteem crisis. Odenigbo is doing the right criticism and I am also airing my views which differs from his views without bitterness. It is left for me to prove him wrong by bringing at least pictorial evidence from 5 to 10 LGAs.

I am sure that if someone makes this simple kind of criticism in Anambra thread rather than engage in constructive argument you will start a fight. Grow up.

BTW who are the "us" and "their" in your comment?

Re: Few Pics From Imo State by oneeast: 11:07am On Dec 20, 2014
Stfu. Though there are a lot to criticize about imo state but I rather allow the indigenes to criticize themselves. Odenigbo didnt criticize imo state what he said was that all you said up there are all lies which we all know. You went ahead to say that your state is better than ours in terms of development which is not only laughable but also lies from the pit of hell. We all know the development indices..and if allow that to be our guide then our state is far more developed than yours. You saw how i cautioned your brother millionnaireman when he was saying that for imo state to develop they must borrow a model of developing all parts of the state simultaneously just like ours has done and keep doing and it is working which is why World Development Partner applauded the state. Its because I was trying avoid another round of clash since you do not like hearing such harsh truths that was why I quickly cautioned millionnaireman. These are the people who are sincere in their spirit. Let everybody face their state because I do not want anything that will keep bringing me here.

I have not passed there for a while too. However Owerri to Orlu is nearing completion. I think some work is being done on the road anyway going by what is on google earth.

Not at all. The site was politicised by PDP and Egbu is the worst choice.

Egbu is a crowded village and should not have been allowed to enter Owerri urban. The reason why Port Harcourt has a lot of shanty settlements is because of urban encroachment into densely populated rural areas. Nekede, Ihiagwa, Egbu et al should be usolated from Owerri while expansion should gear towards Port Harcourt where there is enough virgin land. That Shoprite should have been sited at Avu.

Right now Owerri is built up to Egbu that strangers might not tell the difference between the two towns. Even Obazu Mbieri is now built like Orji. Such thing should be avoided or we will have urban jungle. Every new structure should be sited in a planned area of New Owerri.

As for the Shoprite opening in May I doubt it.

development meeting up with the surrounding or neighbouring villages is inevitable...what matters is what the state government is willing to do about it like modernising the infrastructure of those villages or whether the villages iin question would be receptive to such and not behave like those villages surrounding ph that can block a road infrastructure that is meant to decongest traffic because it passes 'our land'....i don't think govt in neglecting all those new owerri axis though.

The problem with such thing is that villages are built in quatres and compounds while urban is avenues, streets and layouts. The best you can do for such urbanised villages is one dual major road and narrow roads as you cannot demolish and rebuild them.

DO NOT ALWAYS SEE THE EYE OF THE DOUGHNUT: THE
PRINCE'S SECRET OF SUCCESS...
His Excellency, Prince Eze Madumere, MFR ( KSC) this
morning met with his drivers commending them for a
job well done.
He told them a story of an General and his infantry. He
says the worth and strength of a General lies with the
efficiency, effectiveness and intelligence of his foot
soldiers.
He said to them, well done and charge them to do
more as the reward was also unveiled.
It will be recalled that Imo Deputy Governor's convoy
has been rated among the best. He said it is God first
and then human effort.
The magic is a function of God's mercies, human
efficiency and love of one's work with absolute dignity.
Gentlemen, your life lies with your good relations with
your people. Do not despise the lowly but exhort them.
Encourage them and even empower them.
It pays to be humble to all. It is blessed to recognize all
as equal and important despite their vocation.
Imo people prayed for leaders and not rulers. God
answered with Owelle Rochas Okorocha with his
humble deputy, Prince Eze Madumere...
To God be all the glory!
