It's not a silly question. Most cases still being processed in the U.S. will have case numbers that start with EAC or WAC. EAC is the Vermont Service Center, which used to be called the Eastern Adjudication Center. WAC is the California Service Center (previously the Western Adjudication Center).

Once a case has been assigned to an overseas post, it gets a case number that starts with the three-letter designation for that post. Lagos is LGS, London is LND, Tel Aviv is TLV, etc.

If your case number is still WAC, that means that the National Visa Center has not yet finished their processing.

In your case, as the spouse of an LPR, the important question is: When was the petition filed? Right now cases filed before April 15, 2013, are eligible to be scheduled for interviews.

visa officer, good day. how are you doing? i had my K1 interview today and i was approved. But the CO didnt return the original evidence submitted alongside with the 129f petition like pictures, etc. I heard those things were supposed to be returned to me after my interview. Does this mean anything?

Thank you

Then you likely have around 11 months more to wait before the case can be scheduled for an interview. You can track your priority date at http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/law-and-policy/bulletin.html .

If the evidence wasn't returned to you, it will be included in your immigration packet. Or you can e-mail us at LagosIV@state.gov and specifically request it separately.

Also -- congratulations!

I miss mine more than I could really write down here, bt if I pay u stipends to divulge such vital informaton to aid me in marrying my fiancee, It would be very expensive. Bt here u are. Thank u. My fiancee is above the poverty rate with no household member, she's above the rate for category of 1householder am I right cos she doesn't have a dependant bt her self.

Hey VO, I got this quick question....I have encountered difficulty in getting a police certificate from Nigeria since I haven't lived there for about 3 years; just an heads up that prior to leaving Nigeria in 2012, I got a police certificate but it is expired now. Also, I visited Nigeria dec 2014 for my wedding and spent about 30 days. I spoke to a representative at NVC who advised that I should contact the US embassy in Nigeria for directions (and any possible option).....I will quote the NVC website's regarding obtaining police certificates from Nigeria for non-resident applicants "Applicants outside the country are advised that mailed requests for police certificates are not an effective method of obtaining the records. It is recommended that applicants outside Nigeria obtain a police certificate upon their next visit, or enlist the assistance of a friend or relative able to physically visit the Deputy Inspector General." That being said, I don't have any close family member living in Nigeria at the moment. On a second thought, are scanned fingerprints accepted? I honestly do not know where to go from here and I don't see myself visiting Nigeria anytime soon.
Don't tell me I am gonna be stuck at NVC tongue.......Sending warm hugs your way smiley

She should notify us that her father is now a citizen and that she is now married. If she attempts to hide her marriage, she risks becoming permanently ineligible to enter the United States.

Only U.S. citizens can file the I-600 petition for an adopted child (IR-3 or IR-4).

However, if the child has been in your physical and legal custody for at least two years (even if the adoption itself became final more recently), as a Legal Permanent Resident you could file the I-130 for the child as an F2A. Unfortunately it doesn't sound like that is your situation.

You should let NVC know all of this. Ask them if you can submit Form FS-552 instead.

I thought I could send her our facebook chat and also my phone record with MTN to include to the pettition. Is it neccessary? Does she have to send the I-134 to the USCIS along with her evidence?

Thanks for your quick response. Inorder to have the child in our physical custody is there a way to invite him over and then file after two years?this is because we cant relocate to naija to do this. Also,my hussy have been contributing financially every month for the care of the boy for some months now, does that count for something or we should just forget the idea?
