He needs to up his game because of the resilient opponent in Ngige
Meanwhile, Anambra version of Nyesom Wike, Chief Chris Ubah has said that PDP campaign will be all encompassing to ensure to ensure victory for GEJ and PDP in Anambra
But please he should be told to keep it peaceful in the overall interest of the State
I find it interesting that you and I always happen to be on the same page on Anambra issues and for the good of the state, contrary to the views of Peter obi worshippers. They wont understand why we want Chris because they don't know Anambra politics. It will be like film to them when Chris wins with a landslide, although I still have a feeling Andy would still upstage him.
I just gathered this morning, reliably that Chris Ubah has been drafted to also deliver Rivers to Nyesom Wike like he did in Ekiti and Osun.

stop this your nonsense talk, there is no morality in politics. Whatever Chris did in the past is in the past. Senators and Reps members fight every time and jump fences and gates and you are focusing on Chris Ubah. You want us to bring weak people and allow other states present radicals so that anything that favors Anambra like the oil bill will be turned down. Anyway your opinion is irrelevant. Chris Ubah knows his way and will always win insha Allah.

That's the more reason we need tough guys in the Senate. An I.diot (sorry to use that) like Sen. Ayogu Eze stood up to oppose that bill. Does he know the population of Nsukka and indeed Enugu people who has made Anambra State their permanent residence from Nkwo Nnewi to O'sha main mkt even to our village markets is overtaken by a swarm of Enugu indigenes easily identified by their Language.
Till this moment nobody slapped sense into the Ayogu Eze.
See Federal representation should be for the tough guys who gets their way around bills either by coercion or by intimidation. It shouldn't be for the faint hearted. My opinion though
Exactly. That is why i like some of those northern senators like the late Kanti Bello. People that force you to listen to them even just by the sound of their voice are the type we need to represent us in the senate. Folks like Ngige, Annie Okonkwo, Mrs Okadigbo and their likes shouldn't be allowed to rep us again.
And more importantly, our three senators should be united in purpose even if they are from different political parties.

Honestly! I've followed this discussion of Chris/Andy Uba senatorial ambition for a long time. Though we all agree that Chris is a notorious gangster and damn mean, he has a terrible past remember. But for the sake of making the Ibo voice heard in the NASS, I think people like Chris should go to NASS.

NASS is not a place where the representatives pay salary or build infrastructures. If that was the case, one could start arguing against Chris, because he will simply embezzle the money alloted for such projects. Nay, NASS is like a tug of war room, where very dogged people are needed. I want to believe if someone like Chris was in the house, that Anambra oil bill will not be thrown out the way it was.

Lest we forget the next NASS will be a tough one, we have got some important bills before the National Assembly seeking for passage. Bills like the PIB, the national conference bill, and by the way, if the recommendations of the national conference is implemented I bet anyone Nigeria will be on a fast lane to national prosperity... But we all know that the Fulanis will loose out, because the National conference bill does not favour their garrulous greed, and born to rule mentality. So it follows a logical procedure, that the Fulanis will be searching for some radicals they will present that will help them kill the bill. I think we Ibos need some radicals too that will push the bills through.

I have watched Ibo senators make presentations before the floor of the NASS, honestly they appear to be begging, very dull, no effervescence in their presentation. Contrarily, when you see these Agbada men make presentations it seems they want to pull down the NASS. I feel time has has come when we need to meet arrogance with arrogance, and doggedness with doggedness.

Finally, Chris Ngige was able to work and win people - ndi Anambra over, because he realized he had some very formidable opposition, and the only way for him riggle out of their grasp was to have the backing a of the masses. This development kept Chris Ngige on his toes.. Similarly, I thnk Obiano should be kept on his toes too. If people like Chris Uba is in the senate, I think the governor will be loosing sleep and will do every thing possible to ensure the People are happy with him, lest he get swallowed by his political opponents.

I believe these are the upside of having someone like Chris Uba around.

May God bless Anambra FOREVER!!!

Thank you @castrogee for getting the point. Its not as if senators run their state affairs, its just to push the interest of their state forward. Just imagine what would have happened if it was Eselu that presented. the Anambra NDDC bill. Heaven would fall. lol
What do you think an Ernest Ndukwe of APGA who didn't attract a single project for Anambra as NCC chairman will do as Senator for Anambra. Go to Anambra and see structures like Nafdac, CBN etc that were attracted by Anambra people.

Should he win, that can't be an obstacle. Some of those Ugwu awusa Senators can't comprehend a simple English Sentence let alone deciphering the ingredients of a bill. According to him, “I am starting our collective campaign like a family which we are, on Tuesday. We will cover all the seven LGAs each in the North Senatorial zone, South zone and Central zone like a family.
All our (PDP) candidates will win landslide. We are recovering all our lost chances and opportunities back from the other mushroom parties in the state. Anambra is a well-known PDP state.
Ubah reiterated he was going to the National Assembly “to make good laws and attract development and our due share of democracy dividends to my people”. That he want to be a model to other representatives on how to speak and stand in the gap for your people.
He was going to donate all his earnings, emoluments and all accruals to the seven councils making up his constituency. That a committee to supervise the spending would be set up by the people and that he is going to run a people-driven policy for the period.

Eselu has a very poor educational background, and so he can't represent the great Omanbala. Being thuggish isnt same as being wise, articulate and collected. We have a formidable force in Dubem Obaze,Victor Umeh and Ndukwe that can pull any house down. In these three men you have experience, doggedness and intelligence. Thats all we need in the upper house . It will be wise for Chris to back off because he will just end up wasting his finances.

My friend what are you not telling me about this A list. So to you and Odenigbo A list exists in APGA for this election
Well me I don't think like that. If I support a party and a its candidates it does not in anyway prevent me from admitting that another party has a better candidate for a particular job maybe not openly to avoid anti-party activities like I said, Federal reps should not be for the faint hearted and cowards
Business profile means nothing you of all people should know that. I insist without mentioning names that a good number of Ugwu Senators cannot defend those educational profiles but they are good in forcing their positions down through whatever means . Try find that clip of the debate where they hushed down the draft for the extension of emergency rule in parts of North East simply because they needed elections there

We reason differently, If I support a party and its candidates it does not in anyway prevent me from admitting that another party has a better candidate for a particular job maybe not openly to avoid anti-party activities
My expressions and sentiments will only be limited by things that will openly label me an anti party person . I knew a man who was an Eckist or something of that nature who was nomited for a job, who most of the front line churches kicked against the sentiment was mainly because he did not belong to the Church. Somehow, Abuja people insisted he must get the job. Guess what, without discrimination he has registered such a performance in that place everybody is full of praises for him including GEJ the last time he visited the est.

And out of all the multitude of qualified Anambrarians you find Eselu the best candidate? Guy,dont be naive. Eselu isn't going to Senate to fight your battle. May we ask what his brother achieved with all his time in the Senate. Nothing; Just throwing up dust to score a point, when he hadn't done his homework and ended up embarrassing Anambrarians with his stupid bill. A bill he know very well it will not pass. There are guidelines used in declaring a state an oil producing and a senator that knows his onions should be able to know that. This Andy Uba didnt do and end up embarrassing us....Nobody should bring shame to Anambra and thats why we must always present our best minds....For us, Anambrarians, there is no room for mistakes.....We thrive on excellence!

Anambra Seals Major Bilateral Agreements with Thailand ...To collaborate on Large Scale Rice, Fish Farming, Gas & Solid Minerals

For Ndi Anambra at home and in the Diaspora and friends of Anambra State, last week will go down in history as the turning point in the journey to return the state to the path of greatness. It was the week when the leading lights of the business community of Thailand relocated to Anambra State to explore the vast business potentials of the state and tie a number of agreements that will leapfrog Anambra into a commanding position in the nation’s economy.

After five exciting days of tours and presentations in a friendly atmosphere, Anambra State signed a pact with Thailand, agreeing that in partnership with the Thai Investment Group, it would establish large scale rice and fish farms and go into the manufacturing and refurbishing of agricultural machineries. Reading a communiqué issued at the end of the visit, the Anambra State Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Hon Ifeatu Onojeme further revealed that the Thai group also resolved to partner with Anambra and other interested investors to explore the state’s Gas and Solid mineral sector and apply their technical expertise in waste management, recycling and waste energy projects. The Thai Investment Group also agreed to embark on its first ever Medical Mission to Nigeria and Africa in Anambra State during which time they would explore the possibility of bringing their expertise in the pharmaceutical industry which they hoped would make the state a major trading hub for medical supplies in Nigeria. They also expressed interest in the state power sector and initiated a Public Private Partnership arrangement to compliment ongoing private power projects in the area of power generation, and support for other electrical projects across the state.

Both parties also agreed to collaborate in education with a focus on skills acquisition and training relevant to the needs of the Economic Blueprint of the Obiano administration with a view to sending Anambra indigenes to Thailand for vocational training, while vocational schools in the state would serve as outlet and affiliates of prominent Thai vocational institutes.

On its part, Anambra State government agreed to provide an enabling environment consistent with international best practices necessary for investment and businesses from Thailand to enter and flourish, while the expected investments would focus on areas where the Thai economy has competitive advantage. Governor Obiano signed the Communiqué for Anambra state while the Leader of Delegation Dr. Ratana Porn signed for the Thai Investment Group. A joint investment would facilitate the objectives of the partnership within the next six to twelve months.

Led by Dr. Ratana Porn, the Thai Business Delegation had arrived the Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu, Monday to the warm embrace of the Anambra State officials and the management of the Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency (ANSIPPA). Their arrival was significant for two reasons – One, it marked the first bold step of the Obiano administration to fulfill its Vision and Mission statements. From the tour and the agreements that followed, we could see the imminent realization of Obiano’s Vision of working to ensure that “Anambra State becomes the 1st Choice Investment Destination and a hub for industrialization and commercial activities” as well as the Mission of “creating a socially stable, business friendly environment that will attract both indigenes and foreigners to seek wealth creating opportunities in Anambra State.” Two; it was one event that finally proved to the whole wide world that Anambra has overcome its once troubling security nightmare, characterized by violent armed robbery, rampant kidnapping, brazen brigandage and utter lawlessness. The successful hosting of about 30 trade missioners for six days, involving extensive tours of the state, without an incident is a solid proof that Obiano has not only cleansed Anambra of hoodlums and brigands but he has also lifted a white flag to the global investment community, beckoning them to the New Anambra.

The Thai delegation was drawn from different segments of the Thai economy. They include Rayong Purify Group which is interested in oil refining, bio-diesel production with palm oil, tank farms and ethanol by cassava. There is also the S.S Furn-Tech Group which is the oldest group of furniture, particle board and plywood production and wood processing factories in Thailand as well as the Electricity Generating Authority Thailand (EGAT), an equivalent of the Nigerian PHCN.

Others include the DOS Dhammasorn Group which is interested in waste and water management, the Natawee Technology Group that manufactures agricultural equipment and machinery, the Aqua Product and Fish Supplier Group, the Waste Management and Garbage Factory, the Siam DUT KPN Mining Inter Trade Group, and the Production and Business Group which is the biggest group in the delegation. Also on the list of the delegation is the Global Service Interlink Group (GSI), CYR Agro-Tech Center, Knowledge Education Center, Luvam Global Solutions Company, Sun Tech Seeds Company and finally the Vegetable Group and Organic Fertilizer who represent the biggest group of herbal medicine in Thailand.

The Trade Missioners had a great time in Anambra State, touring places of economic importance like the famous Onitsha Main Market, Coched Farms, Ogbunike cave, Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing, Orient Petroleum and Ufuma Irrigation Projects among others.

Speaking at a colourful cultural night held to round off the trade mission, the governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano called on prospective investors from within Nigeria and all over the world to emulate the example of the Thai business delegation. According him, this is the right time to come to Anambra and invest because the state has created enabling environment for genuine investors. "I invite investors all over the world to come because Anambra is open for business. Those who come now stand the best chance. As they say ‘early bird catches the worm.’ Anambra is the second smallest state after Lagos in terms of landmass but we are managing our limited land mass in a structured manner for the benefit of all.”

Governor Obiano expressed satisfaction with the hosting of a successful Investment Summit which he said has afforded the Thai delegation the opportunity to explore the huge investment potentials available in Anambra, pointing out that Thailand has a lot in common with Ndi Anambra because of their industry, respect for family and culture, as well as their prowess in various fields of endeavor which are in tune with the plans of his administration as encapsulated in the 4-Pillars: Agriculture, Oil & Gas, Trade & Commerce and Industrialization. He thanked the Thai’s for agreeing to assist Anambra State in its quest for accelerated development.

Expressing the appreciation of the Thai group for a successful Anambra-Thailand Investment Summit, the Leader of Delegation, Dr. Ratana Porn, said that they were impressed by the high level of opportunities that exist in various sectors of the state. She assured that the unfolding collaboration with the Thai investors would yield the desired goals for the mutual benefit of the parties.

The colorful cultural night featured musical display by various groups including the Original Nkpokiti dance Troupe from Umunze, Abia War Dance Troupe, and a surprise flawless rendition of the Anambra State Anthem by the Thai delegation appreciated and applauded by guests at the event.

Lmao, Prof Chukwuma Soludo blasts Peter Obi in his latest viral article. I have been vindicated! CC pazienza, acm10, nnewi1stson, cuche, asha80, zonacom, energito etc

One of those present took the satire to some level by comparing Jonathan to the ‘performance’ of the former Governor of Anambra, Peter Obi. He noted that while Obi gloated about ‘savings’, there is no signature project to remember his regime except that his regime took the first position among all states in Nigeria in the democratization of poverty—- mass impoverishment of the people of Anambra. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, poverty rose under his watch in Anambra from 20% in 2004 (lowest in Nigeria then) to 68% in 2010 (a 238% deterioration!).
Our friend likened it to a father who had no idea of what to do with his resources and was celebrating his fat bank account while his children were dying of kwashiorkor. He pointed out that since it is the likes
of Peter Obi who are the advisers to Jonathan on how to manage the economy (thereby confusing micromanagement which you do as a trader with macro governance) it is little wonder that poverty is fast becoming another name for Nigeria. It was a very hilarious evening.

This statistics opens a whole can of worms about how Ngige left Anambra and how Peter obi left it. Poverty was lowest in Anambra in Nigeria during the regime of Ngige and highest poverty rate in Nigeria after 8 years of Peter Obi. facts are sacred.

.... and this is the same man now hustling for ministerial appointment? @9inches
