What if the VO says she won't come back since his brother is that comfortable. The situation is dicey, please make guru's help na...
Please take your brother out of your ds-160. The VO needs to know you are 100% capable of footing all the bills. If your brother wants to help you, he should send the money to you and you deposit it in bits.

they are interested in checking all your receipts and zero balance. go with enough evidences to show that you actually paid. Also if your previous visa didn't state you were going for birthing, they may ask for reason for change of plan. this shouldn't pose problem cos you paid all your bills. ---I stand to be corrected.

They want to know two things:
1. Did you declare your birthing intentions during your previous interview (assuming you were pregnant then)? If you weren't pregnant, then this shouldn't be a problem.

2. Did you pay ALL your bills without recourse to any public fund?

If these are in the affirmative, then you are good to go. Don't forget to go with your receipts and Zero balance document.

Goodluck.

@zeezahbee, this is the exact same thing I told him, his brother should send him the cash, den he slowly lodge the money in his account. 300 today 500 next week, till its up to what you need. package what you do properly, so that it won't also look like you borrowed money for interview.

Call BA on 8002479297. Say that you want to include an infant on your return leg. They will ask for your details, adjust you ticket to include your LO and tell you how much you are to pay. You go to the airport, pay and get his/her ticket. Got mine for $325.

As for the Bassinet; I was disappointed. I reserved one but couldn't use it. It covered all the leg space. Made the whole place so tight that other passengers sitting on same row couldn't go out. I just told them to take it out and jejely carried my son on my laps the whole trip. Wasn't funny.

Word of advice: when reserving a bassinet on BA, go for the one on the middle row. Has larger leg room.

One more thing, don't say she is going to California, use a hospital in an affordable state. When you get the visa you can go to California and have the baby. That isn't a crime , as far as you pay your bills.

But if I choose a different location for hospital, how do I go about her housing arrangement without a plan for accommodation expenses bearing in mind she is to stay with my brother in California? Hope you understand my question?

I think you should just weigh your options. If the cost of hospital in california will be almost same with cost of hospital plus accommodation in the less affordable states, I think you can just go ahead and use california for interview. But if the.cost of hospital plus accommodation in the affordable states is still lower than cost in california excluding accommodation, I also think you should use the other states.

Just my line of thots sha.

Pls @cherie24 where did this happen? if u can elaborate more it will be most helpful/ My wife got her visa in naija that she will be going for training in june but she will be using the visa to give birth. i will really apprciate honestly
Ii think cherie24's case happened in Dubai ,i think what she said happened, was that she was asked during her visa interview if she was pregnant and she said no and later sent them a mail that she wanted to use the vsa for birthing purpose.,that was why her visa was revoked.
Now to your own case, did they ask your wife if she was pregnant when she went for her visa interview,if they did, what was her responce?
Did your wife use the visa for the training that it was issued for?
You have to answer these questions before i know how to advice you.

Hello all. I got my b1/b2 with hubby last year before I took in. Now that we decided to use the visa for childbirth, I sent the change of intent letter to Lagos embassy but to my surprise their reply was different from the generic one I saw on this thread.

Pls I would like to know if it's possible for the embassy to cancel a visa without informing the holder of the visa cos I included my passport number in the mail. cry

I Thought we were trying to remove his brother from the picture for now. Ahaika23, if you Use California for interview , you would still have to add accommodation to hospital in California. Not that staying with your brother is a crime as such, we are just trying to make them believe you can take care of everything, but just as @gracydee said, weight your options.

That is what the VO 's want to see my brother. It may boost her chances, but staying with your brother isn't illegal @ all. OK, lets do it this way, show that you can afford hospital, flight ,emergency and miscellaneous bills and also still have enough in your account. That way, the VO would say your going to California cos you have someone they not cost you can't afford accommodation else where. Bear in mind that when you say you are going to pay for somewhere to stay, it shows that this one must come back, abi? Lol. Dunno again o, head done block...
