hi ma, i previously applied for a dv lottery but there i made a mistake on my year of birth. I put 1985 instead of 1983. my fiance just filed a K1 on my behalf, so here is my question...is it going to affect me negatively? I have my correct year of birth on my passport tho and i was also not selected for the DV lottery.

Good day ma,i really want to appreciate you for all ur effort here,God bless u. Please I need your help concerning my K1 petition, my fiance filed for me in may2013, and he got a receipt number and also an RFE which he followed up with in September 2013. In October 2013 his us passport was stolen without him knowing cos he moved from his house to a bigger apartment thinking he's gonna be married soon. On the 23rd of October 2013 he got a message from homeland security to come for an interview though he didn't know what was wtong,it was there he was told that someone tried to use his us passport to enter the country an that they are investigating. In October 2014 the homeland gave him a new us passport and told him they didn't find him guilty but during the cos of the one year investigation my k1 petition was retrieved from uscis,so in December 2014 he got a message from uscis that they received his petition and gave him a new receipt number. Now I don't know if the uscis is starting to review my case all over again or my case has been sent to nvc.i miss my fiance a lot sometimes I wish I could cry out loud.

Thanks for your quick response. I think the agents are more interested on the fee and pay little Or no attention to details.
In your reply, you said she should use her real name and real date of birth. But the name she wants to change is due to marriage Just to include her husbands surname to her name in the new passport as the olé one has expired.
And also for her to use her real age means changing the her date of birth from 1976 to 1978 which will now be different from the date of birth they have at the embassy.
So are u saying that if the date of birth is changed and she notifies the visa officer and maybe shows proof that the new date of birth is her real age, that she will not be penalised?

Based strictly on what you've written here, if nothing else is odd about her identity and she doesn't attempt to conceal the previous visa application, it doesn't sound like this will rise to the level of material misrepresentation / false identity. Our stance is that everyone should always tell the truth, of course, and in this case it does sound like there won't be any repercussions.

Dear Visa officer
I was placed under administrative processing since December for an F-1 visa. I checked my status online, and it still depicts 'Administrative processing on-going'. Its like over 70 days so I decided to email the consular at Abuja, and I got a response that I should come drop my passport for issuance. Though I still checked my status online and its still administrative processing ongoing and that I will be contacted when they are done'. So what's your view on this ma. Thank you

Is the F-1 visa a student visa? If so, these are questions for my non-immigrant visa colleagues at https://www.nairaland.com/1792662/u.s-non-immigrant-visas-listening .

My fiance and I use Whatsapp and the phone to communication mostly. How much conversation should I print out? Just since September we over 1000 Word Document pages, I'm sure you guys don't want that many... what do you suggest?

Don't kill any trees! I'd advise a couple of messages from each month of your relationship, to show us that it's been ongoing over time.

Also, while I'm sure you wouldn't do this, I want to take this opportunity to ask people not to submit extremely graphic sexual messages and photos. They do not convince us that people have a genuine relationship; they make us think that people are trying way too hard to look like they have a genuine relationship. If you wouldn't let your grandparents read the messages, please don't make us read them. grin

Since you weren't selected for the DV Lottery, that means that you didn't take an oath and tell an officer that you were born in 1985, so technically you haven't misrepresented yourself to us. I wouldn't worry about it.

I have come again o, Dearest VO.

You see ehn, on the question of what to present at the interview as evidence of an ongoing relationship (apart from official documents i.e marriage certificate), I really don’t know how far I should go.

1. I have pictures from our court wedding in 2012 and our trad/church weddings last year. The one for last year is an album. Can I come with the album (albums actually, since there are 2 )? Apart from these wedding pics, we do not have many printed pics together since we use phones to snap (this shouldn’t surprise). Can I print out some of these pics? Or better still, can I bring screenshots of some of our pics on Facebook from 2009 (when we met) till date? Facebook pics will show date stamps.

2. On the issue of call logs, there is a little problem. She is presently in Nigeria and cannot apply for her US phone records from here. I have asked my office to help me get my own phone records from MTN (i’m on postpaid via the office), but there is a limit to how far back they can go. Our most common lines of communication when she is in the US are BBM and skype. So my question is, what can I do as far as evidence of constant communication goes?

3. Our child was born last year in the US. How much of help is that?

4. In general, what other documents do you think I can present to convince the interviewer?

Dear Ma'am, good morning to you. Hope you got some rest over the weekend?
I just want to inform you that my K1 interview will hold this thursday Feb 26th. To be honest with you I have little worry due to my past denials F1 to be precise. I have read you write that it will have no negative effect on immigrant visa as long as there is no criminal offence or fraud whatsoever. I also reassure myself that because my fiance and I share a very wonderful, genuine and interesting relationship and I can speak credibly about us then I should have nothing to worry. I hope I am in the right?
Ma'am, I also have a secret desire (not secret anymore smiley ) to meet with you face to face on thursday. Would you like to grant me my wish? Nevertheless, I will leave a message for you to thank you for being so helpful to us here on this thread. I am most grateful to you ma'am. May God continue to bless you real good. Have a lovely day

What you need is a boarding foil. Send us an e-mail at LagosIV@state.gov and we'll give you the next available appointment. It usually takes five business days to print and deliver the foil, but the good news is, it's free.

Without interviewing you I can't tell you you'll be fine - but it sounds like you have a lot to show us. Just remember, the most important thing will be what you say during the interview, not what you bring. That said, just bring whatever you have and if you have a bona fide relationship, you should be fine.

Ooooooh, not long to wait! You must be excited!

Previous non-immigrant denials won't affect an immigrant visa case, unless contradictory information comes to light.

If I'm around, I'll say hello! smiley

Is it the 221(g) form I was given or the print out of the confirmation email?
