we use chewing gum as ball, ROBB & ESSENTIAL BALM na our keeper. we later upgrade to seven canter keeper..

I Remember in Late 80s and early 90s,U cant even Score me because my Goal keeper was so Big that u will not see space to secore me.

Guy you just reminded me of my best game then. We use to have a team, trophy, and features for each match. We use to fix date for the final match where we invite spectators and ref... Lol....

I played dis game till SS 2 sef....we had different teams made up of different bottle drinks and named them after different countries. We played our own World cup and created trophies (Gold, silver and bronze) with the inside packing of cigarette boxes. Any time we played against each other, it was always very personal. My elder brother and I were jst too addicted dat my mum had to go to the drawer to thrown them away.

Guess i would try it with my son some day....

we called this *table soccer* bck then becos there was a version of this game were you played it on a technical drawing board at the back.

Lol i remember that i had my own fantasy league, using clubs from champions league.

the OP sef no try at all . All the canters sef be multi-purpose. During my time we go use paper, write number and even colour it, then use eba to stick it on the canter, to identify them.

I used to write the player's name wt a piece of paper n gum at d back of the canta....nigeria was my team den and I knew all d players in super eagles at my age then...if I got ani free kick or penalty..I used to play it wt one particular canta..okocha...and when okocha is jonsin I will switch to kanu as my set piece tacker..not knowing the fault lies wt me...am a legend in canta ball..I retired from d game at 15..yes 15...it was so sweet.

One of my siblings (a twin) got annoyed because he was disciplined and decided to leave home (he was about six then). Guess what his most treasured possessions were - crown corks aka 'kantas' (counters)!

Some guys used to cheat by doubling the cork , this is done by hitting one cork into another one

Which brings me to other games we played then as kids , anyone remember kite flying? the kites were usually made with nylon or newspaper. There was also our own form of building toys with paper ( Nigerian form of origami ) , we made planes which would glide for periods of time and anyone who's plane stayed in air longer or who's plane attained greater altitude was adjudged the winner. We also made boats we would put in gutters and race against one another ( stick matches were used as well ). What about making our own wrestling belts with newspaper and we would wear it with pride. Christmas period was the bomb as we were able to make numerous Christmas decorations with paper , o yes my childhood was awesome

This is the ORIGINAL Table Soccer. Awesome game. It was my favourite.

Back den in d gud old days...
We played ds game 2 d extent dat we even hosted a championship. Really loved ds game even though me nd ma immediate elder broda often fight over ds game wenever dere was a controversy. Even @ dat, our bond was even more stronger with this game and we would still play it wenever our parents were out.
