Or that he is incapable of running or managing any business since he left power some 30 years ago.

You can doubt the story because corruption has aready almost become part of an average Nigerian. But it was not so in the past. We know the man that introduced and institutionalized corruption in Nigeria - IBB is that man. Looking at Buhari, one may be correct to say he is poor. He is poor because even a Nigerian governor or ex-governor is seen to be far richer than Buhari. How else do politicians and people become rich in Nigeria? It is through lootings, embezzlements of public funds, stealings;it is through corruption. Buhari refused to loot public funds and that is expressed in his life. However, that does not mean he is poor as the ordinary Nigerian population. If civil servants could afford to send their children and wards abroad to study, then Buhari could also do so. The fact that his children were in the Ahmadu Bello University already confirms this story. What would have made Buhari to enroll his children in a Nigerian University if he had the money to send them abroad in the first place? So,you are free to disbelieve this story because corruption in public office is now a norm. If Buhari is corrupt, the PDP would have been the first to tell us. If Buhari is corrupt, the Presidency would have also showed it in their defamatory video documentaries which they televised on AIT and NTA. So,you are doubting it because you have also grown up to see stealing as not corruption. Perhaps you expected General Buhari to be begging to take care of himself and family before you could believe that he is not corrupt. Tell me one governor or former governor you know that is not richer than Buhari. Yet,Buhari was a former Head of State; a former Military Sole Administrator; a former Chairman of PTF;a man who held various positions of trust in the Country. In Nigeria,if you are given office and you refused to loot or embezzle public funds, you are regarded as a fool by Nigerians. God knows this that is why the Bible says whatever good we do,we do it not because we want reward of men,but because we want our heavenly Father (God) to reward us. Change your mentality or else you will be judged by your corrupt life. Thank you,General.

GEJ is definitely too clueless but we all know how vindictive Obasanjo can be, and the fact is he found nothing to pin on Buhari. Rather it was the consultants he got to wind up PTF that ended up being chased for fraud. Such is life.

You are mistaken. I believe the presidential pension is at approx 30mill a month. That is what IBB, gowon, obasanjo, are collecting while the most honest of the lot Buhari claims only a part of that figure.

If being poor is the only credential Buhari has and can boast of then he has failed.
Secondly, if poverty is the only requirement needed to be become president then there are many more qualified than Buhari. There are many out there far poorer than Buhari but they don't make much noise about it, instead they go about their daily business working hard and hoping for a change. Ain't nothing to be proud of with poverty.
The way the Buhari's camp go about this his poverty nonsense makes you begin to wonder when poverty became a virtue.

Toyin Saraki’s The Wellbeing Foundation Africa Donates Clean Birth Kits To Nigeria’s Internally Displaced Persons

At the behest of Mrs Aisha Buhari, the wife of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress Party’s intervention to alleviate challenges faced by internally displaced persons in north-east Nigeria, and in a continued effort to empower safe motherhood, decrease maternal and infant mortality rates, and to assist those in need, the Wellbeing Foundation Africa Founder, Mrs. Toyin Saraki, has donated safe delivery kits (Mama Kits) to expectant mothers at Internally Displaced Persons Camps (IDPs) at Damare and St Josephs Catholic Mission in Adamawa State, Nigeria on the 11th of February 2015.
....
The Founder-President of the Wellbeing Foundation Africa, Mrs. Toyin Saraki, led by Hajiya Aisha Buhari, the wife of APC Presidential Candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd), and the Wellbeing Foundation Africa medical team and advocacy counsellors, encouraged the expectant mothers and advised them to “Trust in the Almighty God” because they “are not forgotten, and their newborns have a right to be born in a well-equipped environment, with skilled and respectful medical care, despite the challenges of displacement.”

For the doubters, included below is a presentation delivered back in 2012.

Unlikely activist: Toyin Saraki at TEDxEuston

Toyin Saraki is the Founder of The WellBeing Foundation, a front-line maternal and child health focused Non-Governmental Organization in Nigeria. She was until recently the First Lady of Kwara State in Nigeria. Having held various leadership positions in humanitarian organizations for close to two decades, Mrs Saraki now dedicates much of her time to the work of The WellBeing Foundation and various networks of organizations that the NGO works with. She constantly advocates for improved governmental policies, better working relationships between NGOs and the continuum of care for maternal, newborn and child health in communities. These efforts have made Mrs. Saraki one of the most heard voices on every issue relating to the health of mothers and children in Nigeria. Her working style has integrated a strong advocacy profile with a unique model of community participation, direct action, effective communication and the development of innovative funding mechanisms in a resource constrained environment, to ensure universal access to quality basic healthcare. Mrs. Saraki gained her bachelor's degree in law at the University of London School Of Oriental and African Studies and her masters' degree in International Economic Law at University of London King's College. She has researched and promoted the rights of women and children. In 2007 she was appointed Chair of the Federation of International Women Lawyers (FIDA) Committee on the Protection of Children..

Another of the numerous deceitful lies being told to hoodwink Nigerians with the active connivance of GMB by his paid hirelings and hangers on about the his purportedly ' famed' none existent integrity......
The good thing is that this fairy tale about him is about to get busted as had happened to the earlier fable peddled about GMB as being the only erstwhile ex HOS and President that has ruled Nigeria that does not own a house of his own in Abuja....
The lid was blown off this fable by an adept journalist from the satble of the Sun Newspapers whose shrewedness paid off in the course of an hour nterview session wherein he (GMB) could not help it but to come clean by openly admitting that he owned houses in Daura, Katsina, Kaduna, Lagos and Abuja.....he then proceeded to sanctimoniously assert that each of his personal houses in these five cities had all being either built or acquired with mortgages.....

Honorable Member of the Federal house of Representative Dino Melaye wrote on his Facebook page to defend a retired Major General in the Nigerian Army and a former military ruler of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari.

Buhari Gets Just 10% Of His Past Presidents’ Salary – Melaye

Member of the Federal house of Representative decided to investigate why Muhammadu Buhari couldn’t afford APC nomination form because he read online the question a lady asked.

READ ALSO: APC Set To Adopt Buhari As Consensus Candidate

He went to the ministry of Finance where he disclosed that all former Presidents and Head of states actually get 23million naira monthly.

According to Melaye, Buhari wrote a letter to the Minister of Finance to pay him 10% of N23m former Presidents and Head of States do take as salary. So Buhari monthly payment is N2.3m instead of N23m.

Here is his message:

“I read online the question a lady asked. The question is how can Buhari who earns over 300million naira yearly claim that he can not afford to pay 27million naira for the APC presidential form. I became interested and decided to investigate. I went to the ministry of Finance where I discovered that it is true that all former Presidents and Head of states actually get 23million naira monthly. But I found out that General Buhari actually wrote the minister of Finance to reject the 23million monthly pay. He said in his letter that he will only accept 10percent or that amount which is 2.3million and that is what he has been taking. This is just to clear the air.”

As PTF Chairman, Buhari embezzled billions of Naira through over-invoicing of supplies & the supply of fake & expired drugs to hospitals, embezzled $2.8 billion NNPC money while he was Federal Commissioner of Petroleum in 1978 and yet will be described as one who sold his property for his children's education. You and Dino need to stop this nonsense until you can provide the letter. Dino can claim anything on his Facebook page after all no law stops him from lying as we know he does with ease.
