yoged:Well, i read this thread from page 1 part 1 and all through i never saw such. What i know is its either Studenkollege, Bachelors or Masters or even PHD. I never saw PGD. Copy / mention Eke so he will help you convert your grade to German scale. You might get admission for Masters. You never know |

nellyb24:Well I did mine at Federal High Court, PH as well: 2 stamps and signatures per page, no seal. And no school has complained so far. And no, I haven't applied through uni-assist; all my applications have been direct so far. Cc: Crowns2 Those outside Lagos wishing to use NIPOST, my candid advice would be to use the state NIPOST HQ (station road for Rivers). We aren't all in Lagos here *cough* *eke* *cough* Pompido, which state do you reside? And which NIPOST office did you go? |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by Nobody: 6:10pm On Apr 08, 2015 |
nellyb24: Well, i went to one Notary public. The only place where a seal is used because even the high courts i went to don't use it. At the Notary public i was charged =N=2,000 per page. And i am sending 9 pages each to 9 schools. Therefore making it a total of 81 pages. Then 81 pages multiplied by 2,000 amounts to 162,000. I think its outrageous. i have decided to go back to my former school to see if they can stamp and seal the photocopies. Uniassit actually said the issuing school can certify it. As for the Uniassist payment i may likely be opening a euro dorm account. But i inquired at two banks they said in certain cases they can actually do a transfer for you to a foreign country if what you are paying for is under page A or so of CBN rule. This allows payments for school fees and so forth. Just go to your bank and ask if they can do the transfer from your naira account. They will give you their exchange rate and corresponding charges then transfer for you. Or the option is to open a Dorm account. What do you think? |

yoged:Well even DAAD doesn't list any "PGD-like" programme on their website. That said, if your CGPA is too low, it may not get you into a graduate programme, but might get you into a BSc programme (without the studienkolleg hurdle). If your CGPA is high enough, it "may" get you a Masters programme in a private or not-too-top-notch public university, more likely in the east. (Pls note that this post is assuming your CGPA is less than 3.00/5.00) Disclaimer: I cannot say I'm 100% correct. Just the little I know from the research I've done. 1 Like 1 Share |

crowns2:All these notary publics, their eye dey red Why don't you mail uni-assist first and explain to them that the high courts close to you certify with stamp(s) and signature(s) only, and ask them if this will suffice? |

Good day fellows and the brains behind this wonderful thread. I have an issue I've been contending with over time. I graduated with a CGPA of 2.71/5 in Physics. My question goes thus: Can I get anyone here to help me evaluate my CGPA with respect to German standard? Secondly, what are my chances of securing admission for MSc? Lastly, is it advisable I write GRE to boost my admission chances? I await responses from gurus in the house. Thanks you all! |

nellyb24: EMS charged me about 10k oo. If not that they had started entering my details, i would have opted for fedex or any other courier service because I am sure the price difference can't be much. |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by pompido: 11:11pm On Apr 08, 2015 |
Williamso: There is very little I can do about it as all documents have been sent. I can only hope that they deliver pronto and I do not end up missing any deadline. I refresh my application status pages of all schools i applied to with the hope that they update my profile as having submitted my documents. Technical University of Munich has an update on my profile that is not exactly clear " The application documents have been sent by post but they have not been completely checked yet." I am not sure how I should interpret this though but I think time will clear things up |

Tnot:Affirmative! olaabiodun:Your German CGPA, also corresponds to 2.7... Note: German and Nigerian Grading system are not same, yours just happened to be the meeting point where the two grades are numerically equal. Your chances don't look too good, except you look at some particular courses in some particular places..e.g those interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary courses especially in the east. some are offered by BTU. GRE can also boost your chances if the school mentions them specifically. Other than that, OYO. You can check schools that would usually request for this if your GP is not so high, e.g TU Freiberg, Bergakademie, (I hope I got the last spelling right) I hope you find it useful? That's the best way I can answer your questions. Our ogas can help you further. Good luck! 1 Like |

Hello guys, I kinda have a problem with respect to my choice of school for Visa Application. I already possess an Offer from a Private University in berlin SRH hoshculen Berlin and am also processing admission into Technical Hoschulen Ingostaldt (THI) which is where I realy want to go but there is a problem. For me to honour the offer in berlin, I need to make a commitment fee of €1700. Unfortunately THi would not respond to my app until Mid August for a winter starter which myt be insufficient for Visa App. Would it be possible to honour the Berlin Uni in applying for Visa and when granted resume in THI.... Moreso, what can you say about schooling and hustling in Ingostaldt for a naija boy. thanks Guys... |

From my own experience , A notary public in Benin charged 2,500 for the first set of document, with each page having a seal and a stamp. There was a red seal on the front page of each document. The subsequent sets costs 2k with the aforementioned bling bling. According to him, he charges 10k for notarization but everything has a student price . He's at NBA office in Benin near high court ,for those in Benin and its environs. As for DHL( Benin branch,I'm sure other branches shouldn't be different since its a company policy), sending of documents to schools is subject to a 40% discount,so DHL charged me 8370 and 8140 for two sets of documents on different days .( the difference in price is probably due to varying weight ).The DHL staff confirmed that their normal charge is 13,350 . It took 3 days for the documents to arrive Deutschland. CHEERS ALL. 2 Likes |

Hi guys. I have been admitted at the LMU Munich. However, the international office have asked me to send my university qualifying documents. I just want to confirm what they mean by "University qualifying documents". I am guessing that they mean waec and jamb results only and not Jamb admission letter. Please if you know about this, kindly help out. I am asking this because i have already gone to the embassy to certify my documents without the jamb admission letter and i am out of lagos now. Eke40seven, your input would also be appreciated. Thanks all |

Misterdhee1:Brother, if you dwell on reports of racism, you will not leave the shores of this country. As a general rule, the issue of racism tends to reduce from east to west, and from small hamlets, villages, towns to international cities. But in all, you will experience as much tribalism (if not more) in Naija than you will experience racism in Germany. Check the news, the white cops in USA have killed/shot/brutalised more black people in that country in the last 6 months than the Germans have been able to muster in the past decade (just this week, a fleeing black man was shot at 8 times by a white cop) but go to the American embassy and you will marvel at the queue. If you go around poking and looking for racism you will surely find it. Note that you will surely find derogatory terms like "flat headed yigbos" "ofenmanu" "nyamiri" and others 100x more on NL than you will find "monkey" on an equivalent thread in Germany. Learn the language, focus and let racism dey where e dey. our ogas can share theirs. lmuhopeful: Congrats! that's the undisputed best university in Germany according to many international ranking bodies. Na you make I return today. In my case, these were the documents I sent in that regard. Thanks Eke40seven. Actually I have a copy of the jamb admission letter certified by a notary public with a seal(without an emblem). Do you have an idea if it will be accepted by LMU? Thanks a lot bro. |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by Eke40seven(m): 10:36pm On Apr 09, 2015 |
ogompaul:Brother, I didn't choose LMU at all, I just gave an instance where I submitted same documents requested by another school. However, as regards the entrance exam holding in Munich, am sure you were not looking at the requirements for INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS. I can't remember exactly when but I remember reading a page where they talked about the mode of scheduling exams at specific centres in various countries outside Germany. Read again. lmuhopeful:In my opinion, its better to play safe. How is this seal without an emblem? Can you upload a clear fraction of the area on the page where the seal was made? |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by lmuhopeful: 11:05pm On Apr 09, 2015 |
Thanks bro. I will endeavour to upload this now. I just feel that it is too late for me to go back to the embassy now. Do you know if LMU mails applicants to request for missing documentation? |
