Thanks BossLadyMo,

I have read online that IELTS can be waived when the applicant and dependants (above the age of 16) possess equivalent of a bachelors degree.

This link http://www.workpermit.com/australia/ielts.htm
"To determine that you have sufficient English language ability to be able to participate in the Australian labour force, the Australian authorities require that you take the IELTS examination if you are not a native English speaker. You do not need to take the IELTS exam if you have gained a tertiary degree (equivalent to an Australian Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification) from a University where English is the medium of instruction."

And

This one for NZ which has a lot in common with Australia - http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/stream/work/skilledmigrant/caniapply/english/

However, you may not have to take the IELTS test, if you can show us that you:
have a recognised qualification from a course taught entirely in English
have ongoing skilled employment in New Zealand, and have been in the job for at least the last 12 months
have other evidence that you are competent in English - we will consider the evidence that you provide.

I am keen to avoid relying on the IELTS because poor sister just had a baby and I feel it will help if she doesn't have to add more pressure of preparing for IELTS

Please give your opinion based on these information if it's a risk worth taking by relying on proficiency letter from university

You need IELTS. There is no way around it. She needs a 6 and above. Hurry and back IELTS now, and she should tty and score at least a 7 in all bands.

Yes it is the Teleperfomance guys in Lagos i am taking abt (Etibets' Place, Ikeja). On their website it says to call and book an appointment before coming to submit any visa application. And yes it is a Study Visa subclass 572 i am applying for.

I have done my medicals already @ Fatayi Williams and its been uploaded already.

Which DIBP office is that? Pretoria? Aren't you supposed to lodge visa application via Teleperformance? I suppose you're trying to lodge a study visa application?

You do not need to book appointment before hitting them up. I submitted my app earlier last month and I never had to book appointment and I've got couple of friends who didn't book appointment either. Perhaps, you were reading about UK visa app procedure.
Just make sure you get there on time. Wish you a fantastic outcome.

Applying For Your Visa

APPLYING FOR YOUR VISA

You should lodge your visa application well in advance of your planned date of travel.

Please note that the whole application process at the Visa Application Centre should take between 15 to 20 minutes. This average processing time might vary depending on volume of applications received during the day, particularly during the high season.

Step 1: Set an Appointment

You will need to book an appointment to submit your application and biometrics by calling our Visa Application Centre. See Contact us page of this website.
If you are required to provide your biometrics only, please call the Visa Application Centre to book an appointment. See Contact us page of this website.
Usually, applicants can book an appointment for the following working day. The average waiting time might slightly differ during high season.
Step 2: Prepare Application Materials

For a list of supporting documentation required for your visa, please consult the document checklist provided under the individual visa subclass information on our Visa Information page.
When submitting your visa application you will need to provide a number of documents in order for your application to be processed. You should include all relevant information and additional documentation in support of your application at the time of lodgement. Please note that if you do not provide all the specified documentation at the time you lodge your application a decision may be made on the basis of the available information. If you submit additional documents to the Australian Visa Application Centre at a later date, you may be charged an additional service fee.
Application forms for persons aged under 18 years must be signed by a parent or legal guardian.
If you need to submit a document that is NOT in English, it must be accompanied by a certified English translation. A translator in Australia must be accredited by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters. A translator outside Australia does not need to be accredited, but they must endorse the translation with their full name, address, telephone number, and details of their qualifications and experience in the language being translated.
Step 3: Application Process

On arrival at the Visa Application Centre, please check in at our welcome desk. Once you have done so you will be directed to a counter where a Teleperformance agent will provide you with a form indicating which documents have been submitted with your application. If any documents are missing, or do not comply with DIBP's requirements, you may choose to still proceed with your application. You may also choose not to submit your visa application and apply at a later date with a more complete application. You should be aware that a visa fee is not normally refundable once you have submitted your application.
After the document review stage, pay the visa application charge and the relevant service fees at the cashier inside the Visa Application Centre. Only cash payment in Nigerian Naira (NGN) will be accepted.
For further information regarding Application Fees, please consult our dedicated page.
Step 4: Visa Decision

Once your application has been processed and a decision has been made by the Australian Visa Office, you will be notified by the Australian Visa Office at the contact details you provided.
Step 5: Document Return (if applicable)

If we receive any application document that should be returned to you, we will send you a notification that will provide details about how, when, and where you may collect your documents. Alternatively, if you chose and paid for the return courier option for your application, your documents will be sent to you the same day it is received back at the Visa Application Centre.
Step 6: Document Retrieval (if applicable)

To collect your documents, please return to the Visa Application Centre with your "Visa Application Checklist" notification (given to you by our agent after submitting your application) and a photo ID.
If you wish to ask a third party to collect your documents on your behalf, they should bring a written authorisation letter signed by you (please download template here), your "Visa Application Checklist" notification, a copy of your photo ID, and their photographic ID, such as a passport or driver's licence.
Please note that all of your personally identifiable information will be removed from our system once the application process is fully complete.
Teleperformance only assists in the submission of your visa application and works to provide a high quality, timely process to facilitate this. We do not make any decisions on visa applications and no visa fees will be refunded if your visa application is refused. DIBP will provide you with written advice explaining the reasons for a visa refusal, and details of any rights you may have to appeal against the decision to refuse your application.

@missakomaye

Just proceed with your submission on Monday. You will be fine even without booking appointment. I guess the time is coming when applicants would have to book appointment before proceeding with submission just like they currently do with UK applicants. In fact, when I lodged, we were only two for Australia that morning unlike UK applicants who were in their hundreds. Be sure to go with a complete application and docs. Good luck

The new trend now is processing means you have a CO. Sometimes, the CO waits till 28 days has passed, before checking on your file again...but some people are lucky and the CO checks their file within 1-5days.

I guess they stopped sending the number in the request mail. The number leads you directly to a processing office , could be Adelaide or Brisbane. Just be nice and polite...they are generally very nice and polite also. Just say you want to confirm they received the docs, as you earlier uploaded it but the co didn't receive it, and requested for it again. You should also ask if there are any other docs required of you....but for them to ask for PCC means every other thing is fine.

There is a hold on 190 and 489 visas for now tho....till July. Only those whose pcc or meds will expire soon are being granted.

Good morning all. I've got a concern using wakanow for booking and would really appreciate inputs especially from those who are experienced about the subject matter. Considering my very limited time frame, I've decided not to put all my eggs in one basket by waiting for IOM deals. I found a great deal on wakanow.com of which I promptly made a booking. But unfortunately, I wasn't able to confirm my booking instantly using a debit card since my account with balance recently had its Master debit card expired so I opted for the bank payment option. But today is Saturday and I learnt that they have 24hrs pre-booking policy which means you can't book ahead for over 24hrs - how correct is this? And lastly my question is; I've got a friend who is willing to let me use his card to make my booking but I can't change the payment method back to Debit card method which means I'd have to make a fresh bookings. Won't my former booking affect the latter?

@bossladyMo @all I need suggestions.

Thanks.
