Intense outrage in the Nigerian social media space greeted news of the appointment of Hadiza Bala Usman into the Presidential Inauguration Planning Committee of Nigeria’s President-Elect, Muhammadu Buhari on Friday.

Hadiza Bala Usman is the Founder of the #BringBackOurGirls campaign which was purportedly initiated to mobilise public support for the rescue of about 276 schoolgirls kidnapped in Chibok Town, Borno State, Nigeria on April 15, 2014.

The campaign, which has been criticized by observers for advancing the partisan interests of Nigeria’s incoming ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), had one of its frontline activists, Nigeria’s former Education Minister, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili making the 2015 TIME 100 list for her advocacy efforts.

In 2014, Chief Audu Ogbeh, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) openly acknowledged the #BringBackOurGirls campaign as an offshoot of the All Progressive Congress (APC), a statement for which he later apologized after massive public criticism and outrage.

At the time, Dr. Ezekwesili had also frowned at Audu Ogbeh’s statement, declaring: “I am neither covertly or overtly a member of the APC, PDP or any other party. It is false and wrong to say @BBOG_Nigeria is led by members of the APC.”

But contrary to Dr. Ezekwesili’s assertion, Hadiza Bala Usman, Founder of #BringBackOurGirls is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), a fact for which she has come under harsh public criticism against the background of her recent appointment by the President-Elect, Muhammadu Buhari.

“I have NEVER denied being a member of APC. I have been political and will always be political but standing up someone’s pain is in my DNA”, Ms. Usman declared via her Twitter page on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Nigerians have taken to the social media to express their anger over her supposedly non-partisan role in the #BringBackOurGirls campaign as Founder, and equally her new political appointment by President-Elect, Muhammadu Buhari which betrays the partisan involvement of her campaign for the missing girls all along.

When PDP supporters said #bringbackourgirls founder was working for Buhari few people believed us.
Here is pictorial evidence (below this post) she fought electoral positions under Buhari's CPC.
Its now rumoured she'd be appointed (together with Oby ) as members of Buhari's inauguration commitee.
I believe every good worker should be adequately compensated or rewarded by their employers. Am not against Buhari rewarding loyalist like Hadiza or Oby, what I abhor was the impression these two women were fighting to bring back those girls.
If their fight was for the girls, considering the girls are yet to be found, why are they being rewarded?

There is a higher court than court of justice and that is the court of conscience. It supersedes all other courts.
In the court of conscience this woman failed woefully, seeking political appointment using the kidnapped girls tragedy.

Where is the evidence that Nigerians are against the appointment?

And that Hadiza has been a follower and supporter of GMB long before the BBOG issue should be a ground to make her qualified for an appointment.

Again, the inauguration committee is just a ceremonial committee for the inauguration.

Peace!

My original comments were made before the screenshots were added.

Despite the fact that I do not see anything wrong in her being part of the Inauguration Committee, I will advise APC to reconsider her inclusion on morality ground.

The advice should be meant for you.

I ask again, where is the evidence?

It's not enough to sit somewhere and concoct some article to claim something without reporting with identities of those making such claim.

If it's on Facebook or Twitter, post the screenshots of such complaints. If it's interview, report with their names.

In your deluded mind you expect me to quote all those who are against Hadiza gaining appointment from the sufferings of these girls?

Do you not see something wrong when she gets rewarded even before the girls are found?

Do you not see something wrong she was a member of CPC?

Will Oby Ezekwesili equally be wrong if she accepts to serve under Buhari?

She got an appointment because she belongs to the same party as Buhari and not because of #BBOG.
They are two different things.

You see when people make comments like "Rewarded for BBOG"I can't help but wonder what the person is up to.

Only PDP apologists consider calling you to serve under a government as a reward rather than an invitation to serve the country because the party has been sitting deeply in corruption and enrichment on public funds.

The woman has said she has never been a member of the APC. Do you have evidence to the contrary? Os the CPC APC?

Are you trying to tell me that every member of the Old CPC are members of the APC? Take Tunde Bakare as an example. If that is true, then every member of AD should be a member of APC but AD is also a political party.

I don't understand why you people love to just jam talk. What has her asking the inept government of President Jonathan to rescue 219 girls that were kidnapped has to do with politics? If we can remember well, it was the PDP that turned it into politics. See picture below.

You people need to argue with a little bit more sincerity and some level of intelligence so we don't put you in the same basket as Fani Kayode and Sarah Palin
