Federal government developed Lagos...so our collective resources were spent here.

Nonsense!

Every state in this country has had massive federal government input. Why are the ibos not claiming that Kano is no mans land?

Ishi.

In Yoruba Land and just like the North, ROYALTY CANNOT BE BOUGHT.

It is only in the EAST where ISHI is from that every PIG,COW and OWL can be an IGWE.

This OBA is not shoving it anywhere, as you should be very respectful to a REAL ROYAL.
Mr man say what you know and what you are sure of where I came from Igwe kingship runs from one generation to another and can not be bought by any dick and harry

but why are they welfarist in nature, wanting everything to be dashed to them, i just keep wondering

OneNaira6:

They always been giving free lands to ingrates. Aniocha was not the only place. Even Enugu once gave put a land soely for yoruba free of charge and when the government tried to take it back due to the fact it was unconstitutional, yoruba whined left and right. I'm not sure Enugu government allowed them to keep it but we learned they had that land for years before enugu government thought of taking it back. It's the same thing Anambra government did after cleaning the main bridge head. Obi gave the yoruba and hausa traders a place to trade free of charge. That's why I've noticed the yoruba are the least accommodating people in southern Nigeria. There's not one SW state where the land non-indigienous are free. They bought the land with their wealth, they built whatever it is they built wither wealth and are still paying ridiculous taxes from multiple money hungry buf00n parading around as the "government" of Lagos and yet person no hear word from that clan about how they are "accommodating". How are you "accommodating" when they are not doing anything for anyone? Mtchewwwwww

Personally, i dont have anything against the Oba however I just noticed that no matter how hard the man tries to talk good he always finds himself leaking some tiny evil words from the corner of his lips. i think the best thing for him to do is to stop talking publicly.

OPEN LETTER TO OBA OF LAGOS

Four nigerians also won parliamentary seat in the uk, the queen did not complain. Oba should know that the world is getting globalized. 100years from now, in lagos an hausa or igbo man may be governor.
The fact that foreigners are getting involved in government is a sign and feature of a developed society, like the us and uk. The oba should be happy lagos has showed such feature, when this feature spreads to the whole 36states then nigeria will be termed as developed.

Don't compare UK, US to Nigeria...

They have no culture to protect.
They manipulate other cultures(mainly African) to eradicate African cultures..

Which port was built by yorubas?? It was built with oil money. What made lagos wat it is now is never because dey are special or hardworking, but because of d effect of colonialism. Lagos would fall the day all non-indegenes leaves. According to facts, large population brings about economic growth, lagos should be happy that non-indigenes are there.

Lagos wasn't built with oyel money.. The YORUBA built Lagos... Lagos will forever be great without the igbosangry

Thats my point. He said Non Indigene, and not Ibos. Non Indigene includes Yorubas from other states but her own hatred for anything Yoruba makes her insult the king for airing his own personal opinion. The King even explained further on the lagoon story that those guys that came to see him the other are his friends and do come regularly. I dont see anything wrong in his interview this time, but the biased tribalistic mod was quick to insult the king cos of her personal hatred.

She can continue to witch hunt Yoruba posters, thats her own problem. We dont earn money by posting on nairaland, so i dont even care if she ban me. I have been watching her lately on how she is quick to hide and ban any Yoruba poster but ignore insult and rants from the Ibos, she should continue anyway, its her f.ucking problem.

Calabar should be competing with Lagos by now!!!

This is getting out of hand. I don't understand what the Oba means by respect. Have the Igbos ever disrespected the cultures and traditions of the Yorubas? Why keep fermenting hatred in the hearts of his followers through needless and thoughtless statements?

This statement by the Oba is born out of pretension to cordial relations with the Igbos in Lagos. He threatened, he denied, and now he claims to be friends with the Igbos...yet he has refused to apologise for his so-called "misrepresented" death threat to the Igbos till date. Nah, I will easily believe that the sun rises in the North and sets in the South but I'll never believe that Oba Akiolu will ever earn the trust and friendship of the Ndigbos after marring his title with his careless hate breeding and genocidal statement yet we have never being and will never be found to disrespect him or the Yoruba culture. So what in essence does he actually want from the Igbos besides that which we can never give him?

You're not hosting yourself.

You're hosting yourself in a safe and friendly environment (Yorubas) with ports and markets built by Yorubas to sustain your business.

You have a port in the East, but you choose to reside in the West. Truth be told, Lagos does not need you, You need Lagos to survive. Wonder why your likes run from the East and only return for "vacation"?
Pls shut r trap if u don't know wot to say the port isit build by govt of lagos state? And other thing the answer is no tomorrow gwari pple will claim host in abj that is build with every citizen money from head to toe beside no nigerian citizen is a visitor in any part of the county u are free to contest and win election live there as long as u want u are a visitor wen u are not a Nigerian besides we are practing presidentail system of govt in nigeria wia the monarchs have no say and bizness in govt ,for using America as eg shame on u cos u don't knw how it goes there no American citizen is a visitor in any part of U S A. So in NIGERIA THIS IS 2015 21th century mr/mrs tribal bigot

Oba is being kind when he calls Ibos guests in Lagos. Other non indigenes are guests, Ibo is not.

Ibo is in Lagos due to displacement from their homeland. Ibo is an internal refugee in Lagos. A citizen of Nigeria but a refugee in Lagos. So Oba was kind not calling Ibo what it is.
Igbos are not daft like you I own business not only in Lagos OK I go to my beloved home town when the need arises OK, I also most time see non indigene and the Igwe never breath he is hosting them, the same goes for my Igbo brothers no one is displaced here you yorubas have xenophobic traits in you when you see people making it you just can't help being jealous
