Yes he punished them for treating his fuccck ups in daggering him, but he ultimately lost his family while on a vengeful mission. As for Hayley, am happy she got taught some good lessons on how not to be a selfish parent, but it can be argued she did what every normal mother will do to protect her kids.

Look at Esther who seek to destroy her kids repeatedly yet decided to rise up to the occasion in sacrificing her life for her Children after seeing them suffer immensely at the hands of Dahlia awesome godly powers. That is what motherhood entails, they do take rational decisions they consider fit for their kids at great expense.

If there is anything Klaus seeks to avoid at all cost is to break his siblings bond and support. Even with all his strength, Klaus knows that people fear him most whenever Elijah is there to remind them of their foolishness to take him on. The fear of the repercussion of the original family is greater than Klaus himself, and an isolated Klaus is very vulnerable to his enemies, and he knows the importance of worthy and unflinching allies bonded by blood with the mantra always and forever.

Klaus loves his sister to death, and her leaving him is even more painful than the threat of Elijah abandoning him. Season 3 will see Klaus trying to make amends to all those he has hurt directly or indirectly in his fight to protect Hope, offcourse Davina will be on a war path and that is why Freya is going to be very key in that battle of wits

Freya has been promoted to be a regular in the series and it will be joy to see her look over her kid brothers in the ensuing war between the vamps and the witches . . . . .

Something within me tells me baby Hope will go rouge with her powers as the season powers on . . . . .Her unique Hybrid-witch trait is loaded with consuming plots.

you have to understand that the whole concept of the series,it is abt the original faminly..so elijah leaving klaus isnt feasible,thats y the writers try as much as possible to bring back the family members however possible..i still have a feeling that sumtime in d future d writers wud bring back henry,that their bro dat died...nd as 4 elijah cuming bak to klaus,it was haley that begged him,so that he too wud raise her,so elijah didnt really cum back for klaus,but he came for hope
