bro. won't advice u to quit. why not go for online masters. there are so many of them, though they are quite expensive. I'm also doing one at the moment.

From the look of things they are not well paid cos I was disappointed when I saw my boss salary.
I see! No responsibility yet! And you've got family support!!! You may proceed for MSC! Wish you the very Best!

You didn't Tell us if it's private or government. If it's government and You've work up to two years, you can apply for study leave ===It's only different in banking sectors. If it's private, you gotta gather two things: Capital for other personel investments and experience. Consider the guide and decide well

I encourage the pursuit of a career and growth in professionalism. Not hopping about from one thing to another without direction. I think you're well-positioned. Stay on your job, gain experience and exposure to the industry you have chosen to work in. You will even learn what knowledge is needed and most valuable as you gain experience there. Then you can proceed to do your Master's in that area or do a certification whichever works.

Try and maintain the job. Work hard to have good record and to be known for good in ur place of work. After 2or3 years, you may be given opportunity for study leave or you may get another job that will allow you to combine ur study. A bird in hands....

I am a student in my final year in the uni...I know guys that are not attending lectures and are doing well...they only come on saturdays to collect notes from their mates...

I think it depends largely on the school and the course. We were just 8 in petrol engrn deprtment in UI so the question of not comming at all is out. One guy used to come once in a week but he didnt graduate as far as i know!

Hello Friend, after going through your write ups and viewers comments, I would say, you have the potential to achieve far more than this. Do you think 60k/month is your current worth based on your current knowledge and inputs? My dear in Life, No risk no reward. You have a choice here and that is continue to mange your 60k/M salary which is not even enough for transportation and feeding in Lagos or explore other opportunities with faith.
You dont need to be scared to chase your dreams of better future. Dont compare yourself with people who are yet to get jobs or earn 35k per month. you have the power to achieve far more. Do you know you have classmates that did NYSC with you and they earn more than 19m per annum my brother the choice is yours never settle for anything less.

(60k per * 12months = 720k per annum) is this worth staying back for?

NB
The motto of the boys scout is be prepared. There is no doubt this Msc would prepare you for something far better as far as you believe.
Other questions I would have loved to ask you was what did you study and what are you planning to do in Msc, what country do you intend to go to? finally Masters in US, australia and Canada is good. as far as you are open to acquiring knowledge and developing yourself for a better future.

You spoke to me. I am exactly at the same point with the op, except I am a bit older. thanks for your post.

do what your instinct tells you. its your life what work for me might hurt you. i got my first job at the age of 19 with a mere NECO result at christ redeemers collegr, boarding school as a computer operator nd i remember i did my interview with bsc and msc holders. that was in 2008. where im right now education is not necessary to be successful guess cos there is equal right be it u educated or not......be young or old...be disable or able.

Guy u are still young, pursue your dreams now. If it's banking job I advise you to forget it, no career in banking as far as Nigeria is concern. They will suck u and dump you later. The evil of capitalism is richly embedded in our banking .

From what i have read so far,it quite obvious that going for a degree is now a waste of time & worthless in Nigeria. After SSCE its better to go in the direction of Our Igbo brothers(business). Maybe proceed to higher education when one is financially stable.

I think you would be concerned about Lab related certifications (not field related like NDT).
