You are very very wrong about Baba Kumuyi. The church recognises only The King James Bible(old/new/revised but has to be KJV) but that doesn't mean you can't use another as an individual. But what my Daddy in the Lord and the church use is KJV. You can't teach with another in the Church... for uniformity sake and other reasons

Op, you're simply alarmed over nothing. It is advisable to have more than one version of the Bible, since it is obvious that a lot of passages are omitted from some version. Personally, I used RSV, NIV, & NKJV. This way, whatever I don't understand, lets say in RSV, NIV makes it plain, and vice versa.

Hey, do not blaspheme or make sacrilegious statements. What relationship does light has with darkness. The abundance of your ignorance doesnt have a part 2.The comforter Jesus was refering to in the bible is the Spirit of Truth who he later showed to be the Holy Spirit who is God the Spirit. There is no reference of the deceiver called Mohamed in the Bible. Mohammed cannot be mentioned in the bible because he represents darkness and works in line with the blood thirsty demon called Allah who delights in blood shed, bombing, destruction, killing, raping, and deceit. Amplified was also done by the same zondervan despite being more accurate than kjv in so many verses. Remember the so accepted Kjv was also translated by a man... King James... So you think KJV is accurate right?? It has a lot of added words..."check those in italics" (Hebrews 12:2 for instance...Its author and finisher of Faith not our Faith..."Our" wasn't part of it. So is every other word in italics in the KJV.)

One thing to be noted and taken without unnecessary hypocrisy is that these bibles we know today were translated by men and man is not perfect whether you believe or not. In translation also, a lot of words are lost and meanings either rendered below accuracy or completely ignored. The same occurred in the NIV... Some scriptures in the NIV are even more accurate than the same in the KJV so don't just assume that these books are useless. All the translations you have today have tens of years attributed to their makeup so don't think they were just fabricated out of the blues. If you think the translations are faulty, then go learn Greek or Hebrews which the Bible was originally written or better still, read and learn about the Person whom all the words and revelations are centered upon...CHRIST. When you know CHRIST, you know life and aren't easily persuaded by words and people but remember that it's through these translations that we come into understanding of who GOD is even as inaccurate as they are.

Arguing about translational omission is not needful. If u like use KJV or whatever, if the Spirit of God does not explain and minister to u in the words, they remain but mere letters. So be wise and listen to what The Holy Spirit will say in any given verse or footnote, except u r not a sheep that has the ear to listen and heart to discern.

Dear, Thank you for checking on this before forwarding such false and misleading statements. It is good to see a Christian who uses their mind before simply believing such nonsense.
These statements are false and silly and promoted either by those who don't know any better or who are intentionally trying to mislead. They have been promoted by some people for the last 40 years or so, but were refuted by good conservative scholars from the very beginning.
First, the NIV does not remove ANY verses. Instead, like all good Bible translations, the NIV omits statements that were added later and WERE NOT PART OF THE ORIGINAL TEXT. When the KJV was translated, the translators had only a few manuscripts of the New Testament available to them and these were very late (mostly from the Middle Ages). We now have hundreds of earlier and more reliable manuscripts. Scholars today recognize that we have a Greek text today that is much closer to the original than the KJV translators had available to them. So all modern versions (except the NKJV) use these older manuscripts. Even the NKJV puts the better readings in the footnotes (look for the abbreviation NU, which refers to the earlier and better manuscripts).
Remember that the original books of the Bible had no chapter or verse divisions. These were added later. So to say that there are "verses" missing is wrong. What are "missing" are phrases or sentences that were added by later scribes and were not part of the original text. The NIV, like all modern versions, seeks to preserve what was originally there. Read the Preface to the NIV and some of this is explained.
As far as the homosexual statement is concerned, this is simply false. None of the translators of the NIV were homosexuals (or Satanists!). All were conservative evangelical Christians fully committed to the inspiration and inerrancy of the text. Just check passages on homosexuality in the NIV and you will see that the NIV is not "soft" on homosexuality. Here are the main passages:

2tim 3:16 that was why we had the scripture and we are not surprise there are manuscripts to compare and that authenticate the fact that the scriptures were written by men of old and not fabricated. but the quran was revised by the jubril, delivered unto mohammed and compiled by uthman but uthman burnt off the available manuscripts and then no other manuscripts to compare unlike the bible. and moreover muslims claim the original of quran is in heaven on a tablet sura 1:5 said "you alone we worship and you alone we adore" I guess allah was not the one speaking here and moreso allah wrote life history of mohammed and other people in heaven but they came and lived it out right what can be absurd than that!

Islam and Christianity are man made religions and the sooner they die out the better.

Islam and Christianity were from the same source - God but the Quran is still intact in its original language (Arabic) while the Bible is not in its original language (Aramaic). The only way to know which translation is correct is to get the original manuscript, if they are available and there is someone who understand the language (Aramaic is dead language i.e not spoken by anyone anymore), to cross check.

@OP, I don't think there's anything to be worried about. If you're comfortable with NIV, by all means continue. I personally use KJV, NLT occasional amplified in my personal study.

As I said at the other thread, and yes, as disconcerting as it sounds, KJV contains many verses which were not in some earlier manuscripts, hence its removal in later translations. However, I believe this does not in any way negate the validity and inerrancy of the Bible as a whole. It remains and will remain God's infallible message to his creation.

You are right. No need to even panic. The very few we know or that they all have in common, how much of those truths have we put into practice before delving into nuances? Even as it is, it's incomparable in truth to any other scripture that man's ever seen.

Ibrahim (Abraham) was the father of both Ismail and Isaac. All the three were prophets. Muhammad was a descendant of Ismail.

There is nothing wrong with the niv Bible in fact that has been my favourite Bible since when I was young it is easier to understand than the kjv
All those so called omissions are contained in the Bible as footnotes and that is what happens when there are many handwritten copies of the original text to translate from and these copies are written in different languages. Words may be lost in translation and when it seems like some words are present in some and not present in some others it is better to write it out in the footnote to avoid misunderstanding
Let us not give way to heresy but let the holyspirit guide you to search the STUDY the scriptures daily for it is inspired by God.

I can't dispute the fact but for you to a solid bases for your view please check parallel bible. Almost all the new translated version does not tall with KJV e.g EXOS 6 v 3 jeovah is omitted
