Answer this question from nnamdi kanu if you think lagos is not no man's land.

What is the Yoruba name for Lagos?
Eko is benin word
Tune in to radio Biafra Lagos, its airing now.
its obvious that u and Mr Kanu are ignorant. Cos if u aren't,u would know that d histories of the Binis and the yorubas are intertwined. Do u know that the name Bini was given to the Binis by yorubas? Does that make them yorubas?

At the end of the day one will just have to ignore these people. i'm now getting used to their jokes. like i've always said its psychological. there's nothing we can do about it other than smile

That has been my attitude since. I just consider all what they say as vital lies, a psychological term for lies we tell ourselves to cope with reality. In reality, things aren't looking too good for them, so they have to keep repeating these lies, and shouting it till they start believing it, thinking that will give them a measure of comfort and happiness. The sad part is, they are beginning to believe these lies, and losing touch with reality. Next time you see one of their lies, just pity them, no need arguing with them, well, maybe just for the fun sha, you can indulge yourself.

Dindinrin, confused set of people (kanu n co )... Part of Benin people are also descendants of Oduduwa. It was the balkanisation that split it and made those people to be on a land called Benin. If you go there, I'm sure you will hear an element of Yoruba language from their language. You guys need history book. To be half baked is trully a problem.

Just leave them, I wonder if the Kalu abi nah Kanu even knows one bit about the history of Nigerian people. Even the Benin empire traces it's origin to Yorubas. Their foolish director can't use his common sense to realise why the king of Benin is called Oba.

Make dem continue, by d time one persona non grata leads them into war and hardship, and their stewpid soldiers get gunned down again, dem go dey cry say Hausas are wicked, Yorubas are traitors. grin

Oduduwa a bini prince? Please in order to push ethnic agenda, don't display your ignorance and lazy approach to search for truth.

Oduduwa is Bini Prince Ekaladerhan who was wrongly banished...wandered to Ife and became their king.

Many Yoruba historians choose to distort this history by telling the lie that Oduduwa fell down from heaven.

That is a big lie.

What is your own version of Oduduwa's origin?

He trekked from Mecca to Ife?

Dumb dumb. Who doesn't know oranmiyan made benin?? Why do they have a Governor surnamed Oshiomole, a yoruba name yet he isn't a yoruba?

1. Oranmiyan was the son of Oduduwa who was Bini Prince Ekaladerhan.

2. Oshiomhole is an Edo name, not a Yoruba name. It has a meaning in Edo but no meaning in Yoruba.

3. Next time you want to call someone "dumb," make sure you don't say something dumb too.

there are villages in bini that speak yoruba. And a lot of Edo folks have yoruba names infact they share common words with each other

These don't change the fact that Oduduwa is Bini Prince Ekaladerhan.

Nnamdi kalu has realy invaded lagos with the truth.
The academia in yoruba has for long shielded the origin of oduduwa away from academic discourse. They rather emphasize the some tales by moonlight and choose to invade anioma and ikwerre theads claiming SS.
As for lagos, we know the name a city answers goes a long way in explaining the ownership. The question is why has lagos no yoruba name?
The name lagos was given by portuguese while the original name eko is benin word. Even oba of lagos is a british creation.

The original name of port harcourt is igweocha which means white cliff/hill in igbo language.

What is the name of lagos in yoruba?

I am Igbo and from Nnewi.

Nigerians should forgive us for our stupidity

We wish we had an origin, history and culture like them.
We must be less cowardly and brave like Yorubas who plan better.
I say no to Biafra and I know we need Nigeria more than you need us.
Please just allow us to be shouting Biafra of the Internet because we are jobless.
Nairaland is all we have and even that is owned by a Yoruba man who is nice.

Lagos = Eko = Oko (Farm)

Benin = Bini = Binu = Ile Ibinu (Literarily "Land of Anger) = Ubinu

I leave the rest to the discerning mind.

Suffice to say that Nnamdi Kanu is either ignorant or deliberately twisting history to suit his agenda.

Ibadan means "Ilu Eba Odan" meaning a town near the valley!
Oyo mean "Slippery" where the horse of Oranmiyan slipped on his way back fro escapades to many places including Benin
Osun is named after River Osun in the state of Osun, a river goddess

Benins can never deny their heritage! If ibos think they can push them into their Biafra saga by twisting history, then they are gunners. I am not Ibos shouldn't demand for legitimate secession, but they shouldn't force other tribes to follow suite. For your information, the lineage of the Oba of Benin are elder brother to the Oba of Owo in Ondo state. Okeluse, Ifon and the likes shares the Benin culture and yet claims Yoruba. Yoruba isn't only in western Nigeria but extends to Dahomey in Benin Republic and some parts of Brazil. It extends to Nupe in the north and parts of Delta and Itsekiris. So don't start tribal wahala here!

Eko is not Oko.

Eko means war camp in Bini.

Ile Ibinu was so named by Oranmiyan who was Oduduwa's son.

Oduduwa himself was a Bini man.

Yes, the same Oduduwa that many Yorubas say fell from the sky.
