I survive by punting! Playing realistic forecasts on Bet9ja has been my survival tool. I earn a minimum of N15k per month frm my bets. And that keeps me going in the search for a better opportunity in the labour market while it lasts!

Finished with a 2.1 in french yet no job. I jumped into video editing as an added skill yet coys refused to take me as an intern to gather experience. Doing business now. Nigeria go beta.

Isn't getting a job as a French Teacher relatively easy?

I teach French and Science as a part-time job. I didn't study French in school; I studied the language for just 5-6 months or so at Alliance Francais (Port Harcourt) and at Togo.

My brother dont ask this type of question o! So that God would not be angry with us. I work for myself after resigning in 2013, since this year I haven't done any major contract but I haven't lacked anything...before money finishes in my account something from nowhere will just appear.

Sometimes I wonder how some people dont believe that God exists and is always with us no matter the prevailing physical situation.

Just do your part God is truly not sleeping. Try and see!

You spoke but said nothing here

Immediately I finished NYSC in Nov. 2014 I looked for a place where I could learn a hand work; I eventually found an automobile service company where i was able to learn how to work on cars (mechanic), I was paid peanuts in dehumanising condition but I knew I was learning a new skill and small change no matter how small was entering my pocket. Fast forward to this present day I got a white collar job that has a promising future which I started last month.
Moral of the lesson get up and start doing something; stop laying around thinking a miracle will happen. The skills you learn on the street might be the one that will open opportunities for you just as it worked for me.
Note: I graduated with a 3rd class in Mechanical Engineering and still got gainfully employed less than a year after NYSC.

You sir, deserve an award for perseverance

How are those working without being paid survive?
Am in such category, though I did it in my sister shop in lagos. After my OND level, I rushed down to lagos in search for a greener pasture. Unknownly to me things doesn't fall to plan. Am now on the verge of continuing my educational carrier and also planning to acquire on or two skills while am in school.

Wow, I did french too, and graduated with a 2.2, sorry to say but I don't think you know what you have. God knows that if it was 2.1 I had sef my shakara for no get part two. Anyways I started by teaching for 3 years after grad, even did a part time pgd in edu to back it up and that's how I started getting good change till I landed an airline job. Guy please you can do better with that 2.1 in french.! And for those seeking for jobs please try teaching and private lessons you will be surprised
Thanks dear. I taught for some time. The pay wasn't encouraging and I was given 6 classes to teach. It wasn't easy . I had to leave.

Good question. How do people survive without income,no state funded assistance,no rich relatives? How? Begging or crime?

Mine wasn't easy at the begging, thinking that after school (UNIBEN) I will get a good job. But that never happened and all is that I gat no direct relation in lagos, so accommodation was another issue. I started spending my night inside the church courtsey of my pastor. And 1day, I came accross a friend that wanna sell his car {volkswagen golf3}. And I told him that I can sell the car for him, he gave me the car and with nairaland I sold the car the next day got 80k profit. Today, I stays in my house, drives my own car and have a registered automobile business and also working in a automobile company all beacuse of the experience I got from the business (happened within 3years). Note: I started it with nothing, just my bold 4 blackberry phone.....get up and take a step...also be prayerful...very important.

You are an ideal youth. Others should emulate you.

What pains me is how able bodied youths lie around at home. I know a mechanic in my area who is a multi millionaire. He handles Landcruiser, Prado, Escalade, 4- Runner, Highlander etc. He only started with normal toyota cars like camry and other japanese like nissan and honda.

Now, he is the toast of Government house and officials.
