Chidiebere Okafor | credits:
Stephen Ukandu

The dream of Chidiebere Okafor, 19, from Abagana in the
Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State was to
become a renown auto mechanic with patrons far and wide.
However, the dream was aborted on December 13, 2014, by
an auto crash that claimed his legs only two months after
he enrolled in an auto workshop.

Chidiebere, the fourth child in the family of 10, said the
accident had incapacitated and confined him to the
wheelchair.

Narrating his ordeal to our correspondent from his hospital
bed at Hornsmans Hospital Aba, Abia State, Chidiebere said
he was a Senior Secondary School 2 student of the Nnamdi
Azikiwe Secondary School, Abagana, and had dropped out
for a career in auto mechanic following the inability of his
parents to cope with the increasing burden of training him
and his seven siblings.

If he was from Imo State he wouldn't drop out of school because education is free. Okorocha knows the poor deserve education to measure up.

The funniest part of the whole thing is that you'll still come to anambra state thread and see the wonders happening in the state.

Your fellow Imolites have seen what evil this man Okorocha is and he has to leave that seat.

The New Face of Owerri.... Rochas is working. By tomorrow, I will be in Orlu to expose him more. Abagworo and Beremx, am coming to your domain live with a drone. Rochas must be exposed.
Please bring photos from Orlu to let NLanders see how a governor dismantled a sports stadium, sold the roofing sheets and pillar rods. Pretends he is building a new one in the last four years, but nothing.

How a governor abandoned the only road leading to his state's university teaching hospital in Orlu.

Even if Rochas performed below the expected satisfaction of NdImo, let it be left to us to criticize. Us alone! You'll hardly see Imolites open threads to lampoon the good people of Anambra, or talk ill about the incompetence of Obiano or his anti-Obi policies. But I don't know why loose canons like Chino and other cry babies can't do the same. As true sons of Igboland we will never fall for the OP's trick to propel us into maligning our sister state, thereby wash our dirty linens in public. We know him as a troublemaker, but wish to inform other unsuspecting commentators not to join him in his usual dance of shame.
While it is true I didn't vote Rochas for 2nd
term, it is also fair to say that I'm one of his fierce critics. Yet, it pains me to see vagabonds with anti-Igbo tendencies insult not only the Governor, but also the good and hardworking people of Imo state, all in the name of amateurish politics. It is so disheartening to see why these lunatics are taking panadol for another mans headache. I even saw where a juvenile kept comparing Ohakims shambolic tenure to that of Rochas. Even one idiot openly came out to insult the political decisions of Imolites during the last election. Imo remains the most politically sophisticated state in the whole east, you can take it anywhere. People who play emotional and bitter politics are coming here to tutors us on something we know better. Let them check the records to see how we've faired from the 2nd republic till now.
The likes of Mandax can criticize ORO after all he has a stake in what goes on in the state as an indigene. However, since other intruders are bereft of ideas to criticize constructively, courtesy demands they keep shut. Let them face their state and pour that bitterness there. Imolites voted for Rochas because they had faith in him, it is now left for him to reciprocate that faith by proving that he is truly the best man for the job. He has more than 3 years to round up his tenure and till then he remains the Governor of Imo and no form of witch hunting and character assassination will make him step aside.

You are just a clown. The b.astard called abagworo has done in the past severally what the op did, so its a payback time. Nairaland is littered with his continous unwarranted attacks on the good people of Anambra despite the fact that imo state is bankrupt and dead.

Until everyone starting with that b.astard learns to mind his useless and worthless state this will continue to be a vicious circle.

Unfortunately for any troublemaker I am here to stay, any I.diot that is going off the chain to have me to contend with. I care-less whose ox is gored. Game on.. cool

Those points in Owerri where Rochas is building flyover, large roundabouts with canalized traffic should have served better than flyover.

But Rochas is now sharing the same mentality with some people in the state capital who seriously believe that a city having flyover is a sign that it is a mega city.
It's over ten years that such people have been pressuring Imo state governors to build flyovers in Owerri.
When the roads in most parts of Imo state are no more passable, the state governor is wasting money building useless flyovers in the state capital.

Stop using federal roads to judge Rochas. That has been the most myopic and mischievous attitude of pro-GEJ and anti-Okorocha wailers. They refused to hold Jonathan to account for bad federal roads in Southeast and South-south.

Nigeria had the money earlier but Southeast was not a priority to Jonathan. Some folks like Chino go about posting federal roads as rural roads and the unexposed believe them. Jonathan's regime did not favour Imo State period.

FERMA inspects Imo roads SEPTEMBER 30, 2015 : GIBSON ACHONU

One of the bad spots along Awo-Idemili Road THE management team of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency led by Director of Public Works, Mr. Godson Amos, has inspected failed federal roads in Imo State.

The exercise was part of the establishment’s routine check to assess the progress made so far in road repair along critical routes and assess the condition of the roads generally with a view to tackling failures once the rains subside.

Amos frowned on the condition of roads at Awo-Idemili along Orlu-Ihiala road, attributing the cause of the failures to lack of drainage system. He said Ihiala to Awo-Idemili was in good shape and promised that FERMA would raise the alignment and provide quality drainage system on the critical point at Awo-Idemili as the rains stopped.

He also suggested the construction of catchment pit but offered that for it to work effectively, people from the area should be involved in de-silting of drains. “This would make the drains functional, thereby making the roads safer,” the FERMA director said. Amos stated that apart from major federal roads, FERMA was also poised to maintain secondary roads in the country.

He blamed community members for not taken care of the minor drainage system around their area. “I say this because when the drainage is silted up, water will not flow, thereby making the flood to wash out the road. However, every community is part of the owners of the road that passes the area.

“The road that passed here is the community’s and as it belongs to the community. So communities should take care of roads that passed their area. It is very painful that people don’t take care of the roads that are in their area,” Amos added.

The FERMA Zonal Coordinator, South East 1, Mr. Rufus Onimisi, said rain was the major cause of road washouts. But he said despite the rains, FERMA would make the roads passable. “Patching of roads is what we are doing now. But once the rains stop, major work on the roads will start,” Onimisi said. He commended Imo FERMA headed by Engr. Chukwuemeka Maduagwu for the repair works done, describing them as proactive.

At the end of the day truth stands tall while falsehood dies its natural death. Imo State Government has constructed the longest stretch if State and LGA roads in Southeast but because she was seen as opposition by Jonathan led FG the federal roads were deliberately left to rot.

Re: vr by Abagworo(m): 10:04am On Oct 07, 2015
For the records here was Okorocha calling out Jonathan last year. That road was motorable until Arab contractors started scrapping and leaving it unfinished for 3 years.

Abagworo:
THE Imo State Governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha, yesterday lamented the terrible state of Owerri-Port Harcourt Road, currently under construction.

The state government in a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the governor, Mr. Sam Onwuemeodo, and made available to The Guardian yesterday, regretted that lives had been lost while several armed robbery attacks on Imo and other citizens of the two states had taken place.

He said the bad state of that point of the road was due to the slow pace of  work by the contractor handling it.

The statement said: “The Executive Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha wishes to lament over the worrisome and indeed, the deplorable condition of the Umuapu, Imo State area of the Port-Harcourt-Owerri Express Road.

“The road has become a glaring death trap with some Imo indigenes and some other people losing their lives either through accidents or armed robbery attacks that occur on that part of the road almost on daily basis.

“The most annoying aspect of the whole story is that there are Imo sons and daughters in Abuja who claim to be very close to the Presidency or to the Federal Government and even those who claim to be power-brokers at the National Assembly, and they could not influence anything with regard to the disturbing condition of the road under reference. And they pass through the road very often and none of them could muster the courage to talk about it.”

The governor, therefore, appealed to all those in connection with President Goodluck Jonathan to step in and assist in appealing to him to mobilise to complete the road.

Anambra did not fix any road except in few cases of agreed refunds. FG did most roads. Rochas Okorocha is equally doing a long stretch of federal road from Owerri all the way to Akokwa. No State Governor in the Southeast has dared such adventure in our history.

Here is a mini list of Roads claimed by Jonathan in Anambra State.

Completion of the Dualization of Onitsha-Owerri Road
(Section I) and Onitsha Eastern Bypass, in Anambra State.

Rehabilitation of road Spur from Onitsha-Owerri road to
Okija-Ihembosi-Afor Ukpor-Ebenator-Ezenifite in Anambra

Tell me why Igbos should support this sort of wickedness. FG reconstructed this road and deliberately stopped at Imo boundary because our Governor happened to be in APC and my Igbo brothers are rejoicing at such impunity.

The Rochas Okorocha Government reconstructed the Orlu section of this road to a dual carriageway with chrome streetlights just for the records.
