The North are nothing without their leaders.. The power of incumbency the north enjoys now is enough for the APC to keep putting who they want with the promise of a rotational policy. When their leaders convince them of this which they always do, they, their cows and rams will vote for a south western muslim over a northerner from a party who once allowed a southerner rule for 6 years. PDP is learning when it comes to spinning propaganda to win elections. As for the SE we know what they always do... vote for a party with an eastern vice presidential candidate and in this dispensation, even PDP can't dare pair a a radical Muslim northern with a radical Christian east... recipe for destruction.

But last election shows that ur votes are not needed to become Nigerian president. So bro, poltically, ur region votes is as good as being noid and void.

The PDP was a very powerful political Party that was going nowhere for the next 60 years because small parties could simply not trouble it.

Tinubu conceived the idea of the merger of political Parties as the only way to take on and defeat the PDP. He ensured it came to pass despite attempt, internal and external, to scuttle the formation of the APC.

Tinubu shielded koboless Buhari, providing the clout and finance, to ensure Buhari became APC candidate with events culminating in a primaries where Buhari got almost 100% of SW delegate votes, courtesy of Tinubu, which was even far more than he got from the North.

Tinubu, with governors he had helped to install in power, delivered 4 out of 6 SW States for Buhari in 2015 when our President did not win a single SW State in 2011 !!!

Buhari became President alongside the VP Tinubu chose to run with him. Today it is Tinubu's boys and girl , that he empowered directly and indirectly, controlling the most critical and important Ministerial portfolio in Nigeria today. There is so much in between the abridged history I have supplied above yet it is crystal clear the man is arguably the most powerful politician in Nigeria if we even discount everything else and only take his feat of leading the sustained and very painful charge to depose the PDP that boasted under Ogbulafor it would remain in power for 60 years. Now ask ur self, what of other positions All top appointments have been made by buhari n Yoruba got almost nothing. Buhari secured over 75 of those appointments for the north n treated u Yorubas like rags even though ur votes brought him to power.
