I have a question pls,I applied for a family visit 2014,as at that time my balance was 174,190.73{£632) and I stated that I have (£545) available for my trip, which is for my ticket because my brother stated that he would be taken care of my stay and feeding and I was denied due to insufficient fund, and as at that time my salary was 100k but now I want to reapply again but this time a family friend would be inviting me with this document listed
copy of his passport
copy if his resident permit
his tenancy agreement
pay slips
bank statement
and he also deposited (£500) to my account and uk trip
and stated in his letter that he is sponsoring my trip to the uk
on my part I run my own business
statement account covering above 6month with balance of 400k
CAC
tax clearance
allocation letter
ID card
pls what are my chances?

The reason you gave for the refusal in 2014 is not sufficient, but to my understanding, you proposed to spend £545 in the UK on holidays from a balance of £632 which makes no economic sense. Your budget was unrealistic and does not commensurate to your personal and financial circumstances which you failed to substantiate.

If you must reapply, then address the reasons stated for your previous refusal. You have all the required documents from your host, but you must be ready to defend the £500 deposited in your account.

I assume you're self-employed, therefore you'll need your six months bank statement, six months company bank statement, work documents, contract papers, award letter, receipts and other documents to proof your ties to Nigeria, this may be property documents, shares documents, inheritance, marriage certificate, children birth certificate etc.

You need to renew your passport. UKVI standard is 6 months validity minimum.

Another question since my passport is not up to 6months before it expires . I will do a new passport. But my worries is that I have already filled my application form online and summited but I have not picked a date . I intend to pick a date after my new passport is out .

In my application form I wrote my current passport number and details . How will I now defend the new passport ? And I currently have other countries visa on my passport . So what should I do? .. I don't know if my new passport will have a different number my current passport ? Hope they will not say I didn't use my new passport number for my application ?

Dear All,

Please I applied for the UK Visitors visa online and made a payment via GTB. I was sent a message from the uk office that my transaction was declined/unsuccessful yet GTB has debited my account. I called GTB and I was told that the merchant (UK Visa) has put a lien on the amount. So basically, my account has been debited yet the visa office has sent me a mail that the payment was unsuccessful. I don't have a number for the UK visa office in Lagos but I have sent them a mail. The only number I saw online costs 1.80 pounds per minute to make the call. Please what do I do.

By payment via GTB do you mean payment using a GTBank debit card? Since the amount has been put in lien then there's a likelihood that it will be reversed in about 48 hours however you should still file a dispense error complaint with the bank

I feel like you are on track . Remember to explain any form of large deposit / lodgement. On the other hand kindly display the contents of the introduction letter from your HR (kindly remove the confidential info such as company name and all). I've been searching for a descent format as I dont like the introductory letter given to me at my place of work

Yes I used my GTB Card. I have called GTB and they said that it was approved but UK Visa has sent me email to say transaction declined.

Thse things can be scary as you'll have your money on hold while both parties blame each other. Ask your bank for you ledger balance and available balance. This will give you a clearer picture. If your ledger balance still has the visa money then there is a high chance that it will be reversed if the UKBA peeps dont lay claim to it within 48 hours

Good morning all, Please regarding the "Do you have friends or relatives in the uk" question. I have three cousins in the uk on temporary study/work visas. In addition i have a lot of friends having lived in the UK for the duration of my pre-qualifying year, Bachelors and masters years. Do i have to list information regarding all these friends or relatives? I plan to visit a small town up north in the uk and stay at a hotel with no plans of staying with any of my friend although i plan to hang out with them at least for a club night...

It's an integrity test. You should list them accordingly.

My dear friend, sincerely you're not qualified for a visiting visa at this time. Your application is unlikely to fly because your financial ties is not substantial enough to convince the visa officer that you'll leave the UK at the end of your visit.

Grow your company for at least a year or two. Your tax clearance certificate is an important document as a business owner. It is used to evaluate your company, determine its structure, financial strength and compliance with the Government.

thank you so much for the reply, but pls let me ask this question? Is it because I didn't have Company account I can't be given visa?Even when my invitee state it that he is sponsoring me over and he would also take care of trip, ticket, accommodation, transport, shopping and in even send (£500) for me to take with me in case of any emergency which is not likely because he would pick me at the airport. on my part i have a shop that am selling printing materials and a have letter if allocation including tax card and also I have a personal account covering 6 mount with bal of 400k, i also have various receipt I received from buying materials and also a land. so pls let me ask can they refused me because I didn't have company account? or CAC?pls I need an urgent answer. thanks

Yes they can. They can refuse any applicant however some applicants tend to have higher chances of securing a visa due to the ECO's judgement of their finances/social ties. In 2010 I was granted a UK visit visa with about 40k naira in my account however I added my dad's statement of account as well as my birth certificate and I was granted the visa. In 2011 I applied with 700k + along with my dad's statement of account (this time without birth certificate) and I was granted. In 2012 I applied with my account statement (without my dad's statement) and a lodgement of about 1M naira two weeks before I applied and I was granted. My guess is that the ECO overlooked the lodged money because of my travel history and some social ties

Why do you keep asking the same question over and over?
A COMPANY bank account is for the business NOT your personal travel.
You must have a healthy personal bank account to be considered for a visa.
If they think you are spending most of your money on one trip then there is no tie for you to return,
so visa is refused.

mojisolani:

Am not the ECO but I feel like your chances are low . Social ties refers to something that you are very much unlikely to abandon and stay in the UK. For instance when I applied for my first UK visa I was a student almost done with high school. The chances of abandoning my studies, parents and siblings to reside in the UK was quite low. So that boosted my chances
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by mojisolani: 4:40pm On Jan 27, 2016
seems you are angry, you should know that when someone keep asking same question over and over again properly that person is naive or confused and if I were you I would take time to answer over and over again, because you should be glad that God put you in a position to help others. Like I said the account is my healthy personal account and not company account and am not the one sponsoring myself. all the same thank you.

YOU are the one that kept asking about company account, look at your question above.
I answered your question and told you why that was not a good thing.

You ask for the odds on your chance of getting a visa.
I feel they are about 10 to one against you.
You seem impatient and you do not seem to have strong ties to home.
You should take a step back, improve your savings and finances and look to your strong ties to return home.
Sorry of it seems hard but truth sometimes hurts.
