Right from d start i had mixed feelings abt his appointment. Then i was happy that finally we had gotten rid of Keshi hu i disliked for reducing the green and white jersey to what any dickk and harry can put on. He experimented for too long and had no team in place after d whole 3yrs plus of experiment. Oliseh coming, i knew he was nt experienced enough bt i didnt like Keshi either so i thought lets try Oliseh hu knows.....

No one knew or let me say few, very few knew e wasn't ripe for the job!
If Oliseh is later axed(which is even imminent) looking @ d feud between him and his employer, I'll root for a foreign COACH not a carpenter who will handle n nurture the rising Golden generation into Stardom and make them world beaters cos i'm not seeing oliseh doing this.

First of all, all those screaming Sunday Oliseh should stop it. We can not hand our National team to someone who has not Coached even an age grade competition.

The NFF have also made a mistake by appointing Coach Amodu Shuaibu as the technical director. Has Coach Amodu submitted any write up on what direction our football should take.

It is a pity no contract have been signed. No coach appointed. However if Coach Keshi is going, then Coach Siasia should be given the job. Most National team coaches coach the Olympic team.

I still feel Coach Keshi deserve much praise than he got. He actually was heading in the right direction with the last three games of the Nations cup. The OP missed the fact that we actually drew our final game due to massive injuries. Especially Hope Akpan, Oboabona and Omeruo.

I hope this issue is sorted out and please, If a Coach is brought in or Coach Keshi should remain, the NFF should cease interfering. Coach Amodu Shuaibu can appoint himself coach or leave the coaching job and squad selection to whoever takes the Job.

Sunday Oliseh has not even coached an academy of football. Yet, you guys want him to coach the national team. If Oliseh is serious to coach, he should pick up an age grade side and let us judge.

Tribunal quizzes Iheanacho's warring agents

Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho

The England FA Rule K Tribunal will sit soon to hear out a case brought by Kelechi Iheanacho’s former agents against his new representatives.

US-based First Eleven are asking the FA to cancel a new management deal the Nigeria starlet has signed with UK-based Stellar Group.

They argue Iheanacho signed a contract with them just before the 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand and as such he cannot sign another management agreement.

“The FA Rule K tribunal will be sitting any time from now to hear the case,” a top source revealed.
“This is a major development in this matter.”

Some believe the face-off between the agents has put on hold talks for a new contract for Iheanacho, who has continued to justify his keep at the star-studded Manchester City with goals after coming through the academy.

His contract at City is till the summer of 2018.

Tunisian club cancel Obanor's contract

Obanor with Club Africain officials in Tunisia

Club Africain of Tunisia have announced they have cancelled the contract they entered with Nigeria U23 international Erhun Obanor because of cash demands by several agents claiming to be representing the player.

Central defender Obanor had signed a contract for three and a half years with the Tunis club, who will feature in this year's CAF Champions League.

The Tunisian club alleged that the agents as well as some top officials want to be paid before they will allow for the International Transfer Certificate of the player to be released.

Obanor’s club Abia Warriors have also declared the player wanted, insisting he still has a contract with them.

Emem Eduok facing tough times at Tunisian club Esperance

EmemEduok rejected Saudi loan move - agent

The agent of Emem Edouk has alleged the striker has come under heavy fire at Tunisian club Esperance after he refused to agree a loan move to Saudi club Al-Khaleej.

England-based agent Ojore Oka has maintained his player has not breached any code of conduct, but rather his problems started when he refused to sign on a loan move to Saudi Arabia.

“The fact of the matter is Esperance FC had intended to loan Emem Eduok to Al-Khaleej FC in Saudi Arabia during this January transfer window. They had accepted an offer from the Saudi club and asked Emem Eduok over to the club's office to sign the deal. But we rejected the offer as we felt playing in Saudi Arabia would not enhance his football in any way, shape or form, at least not at this time,” said Oka.

“Emem Eduok was 22 on the 31st January, 2016, and clearly this isn't the time for such a talented player to go to Saudi Arabia, when we have a number of suitors from the mainstream European leagues.

“So, we’re sure that some individuals who would have profited very handsomely from the Saudi club’s loan deal are unhappy with Emem Eduok.”

The agent claimed his client’s international passport has been withheld by Esperance and that stopped him from visiting his family in Nigeria recently.

"It is unfortunate that at this age and time, a club of Esperance stature and experience could resort to what I call ‘a form of modern-day slavery’,” he narrated.

“The fact of the matter is Emem Eduok wanted to travel to visit his family in Nigeria when the club was on official break for a week, but the club officials refused to release his international passport to him.

“Just for the records, the other Nigerian in the team, Bernard Bulbwa, was allowed to travel home.

“I thought this attitude was unprofessional and unusual. So, we wrote to the club to ask for an explanation, but didn’t get a response. After several unanswered phone calls, I finally got an official who informed me that his passport would be released to him on the 15th January.

“When this wasn’t going to happen, I traveled to Tunis to find out exactly what was happening.

What I found out on getting to Tunis was very shocking and deplorable. Apparently, they had withheld his passport and stopped him from taking his week-long break to visit his family in Nigeria, so as not to jeopardise their plans to loaning Emem Eduok to a club in Saudi Arabia.

“So, when we went to the club’s office on the 15th of January to pick up Emem’s passport, they put an offer in front of us and asked that he signed it. In all my years of working in football, I’ve never seen a situation where a club transfers a player without informing him and allowing him to negotiate his personal terms.

“So, as I said earlier, we refused the offer outright.
“Yes, Emem Eduok, has a contract with Esperance, but he cannot be sold without our consent. This is indeed akin to human trafficking, and I cannot allow that under my watch.”

However, the agent said the striker will honour his contract at Esperance.
“Emem Eduok has a contract until 2018 and he loves the fans of Esperance FC very much. He would respect the terms of his contract to the minutest detail, every bit of it,” he said.

“Don’t forget, just last season he was tearing defences apart in Tunisia and the continent and scoring goals for fun; in fact he was highest goal-scorer for Esperance FC last season despite joining in the mid-season.

“So, inspite of the unprofessional ways he’s been treated and the fact that he’s owed a huge amount of his wages, he’s committed to seeing out his contract. Emem is a consummate professional and will always give his best whenever called upon.”

AF Nigeria 2015 U23 Africa Cup of Nations Warri Wolves
Etebo not Warri Wolves player - LMC

Nigeria U23 star Oghenekaro Etebo

by Samm Audu

The League Management Company (LMC) have declared Europe-bound Nigeria U23 star Oghenekaro Etebo does not have a contract with Warri Wolves and he is therefore a free player.

“Etebo’s contract with Wolves ended on January 10 and so he is a free player,” disclosed a top official of the LMC.

This is a sharp departure by the Wolves officialdom, which has maintained the player still has a contract with them and any transfer negotiations have to be routed through them.

It was based on this position that they slammed a $2 million on the player.

Attacking midfielder Etebo joined hometown club Wolves in the 2013 season from Lord Honour FC.
The 20-year-old star, whose idol is Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, inspired Nigeria to win the U23 AFCON in Senegal in December, when he scored twice in the final against Algeria.

He exploits at this tournament will go on to fetch him the CAF Most Promising Player for the past year.

True talk bro. With the 3 goalies added to ur list that makes an 18-man squad already. Remember there are still good players like Udochukwu Anumudu, Orji Okonkwo, Kingsley Michael, Zakari Hilaru among others. There are still some that will join from the local league. That team will storm the world. Most of them have already signed professional contracts both in Europe and in Nigeria and already gathering plenty of experience. Imagine what Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze would have turned out to be by then after playing with the Arsenal youth teams. This was the point I was trying to make with the 2015 Flying Eagles; they were mostly Nigerian academy players and were lacking in experience. The 2017 U20 is expected to be far better. Lets discuss more of this at the U20 thread. wink

This Article was intelligently written. I just love it. Premier league owl did a great job here. Nicely done.
.........................................................................................
A Natural Advantage For Manchester City’s
Kelechi Iheanacho

**By Premier League Owl.

Think about what might be happening now – or what might be being said – if Kelechi Iheanacho was
English.
Hype. Lots of it.

Being a developing homegrown player in the Premier League is difficult because, as has been proven time-after-time, even the vaguest flicker of promise is amplified immediately and, depending on the character of the athlete, that can be a difficult burden to shoulder.
Being off the England radar is preferable, then. If a player’s development has no bearing on the (English) national team and holds no interest to those outside an individual fanbase, he tends to be left alone.
Yes, some of the same lofty prophecies are still made on social media, but the surrounding atmosphere is noticeably less intense.
The reaction to Kelechi Iheanacho is a pertinent
example of just that: the 19 year-old Nigerian has
very quietly exploded into the game. And yes, I’m aware of the contradiction it terms.

Iheanacho has one of the most complete games I can remember seeing in a player so inexperienced. His finishing is composed and his off-the-ball movement (seemingly an inherited rather than coached skill) is excellent, but – as and when picked by Manuel Pellegrini – he manages to slot into the Manchester City side fairly seamlessly. He has that natural chemistry with his surrounding forwards and that’s something which is not typically associated with young forwards.
Yet, nobody is really talking about him. The City fans presumably are, but it’s as if the rest of the world is yet to spot just how good a player he’s capable of becoming. He’s a star in the making, without question.
That indifference is partly derived from the colour of his passport, but also probably the club he plays for: Manchester City still don’t really appear in the
national cross-hairs. That’s a strange thing to say
given their size and recent history, but very little
attention is actually paid to the club beyond a
superficial level.
Everyone has an opinion on their starting-eleven and their managerial situation, but precious little is ever said – or written – about the infrastructure which has been built since Sheik Mansour arrived.
Why that is, who knows? It might be because the
notion of an organic Manchester City who are built
for self-sustainability doesn’t really suit the generalised perception of them as an oil-funded
vanity project or, possibly, because training grounds
and academy projects are a harder sell than moans
about Financial Fair Play.
Whatever the reason, it’s to the benefit of these
young players. Iheanacho was technically recruited
rather than grown, but he is still an example of an
evolving approach – and, as that new talent farm
matures, it’s a virtual certainty that others will follow.
And they too, while still facing a mighty struggle to
break into the first-eleven, will also get to incubate
under that low heat.
It’s admittedly a tenuous point, but consider it from
this perspective: if a Manchester United or Liverpool youngster had scored that hat-trick against Villa or exhibited the promise that Iheanacho has, would the response have been more or less feverish?
More – considerably more.
He would already have been elevated to a ridiculous level in the consciousness and tipped for major honours.
It may rankle with some supporters that their club
remains in that cultural shadow, but it’s actually a
privilege. It’s healthier; the Etihad isn’t set in that
same rarefied air as Old Trafford, Anfield or even the Emirates and that has to make it a more fertile
environment.

Where did you get the idea that I said his agent can not fight? I said the NFF should come in and assist. This is a player who wore the National team jersey. The NFF should help the man win the case where a team wants to ship a player to a club against his will. Especially, when the young man has offers he prefers.

So I do not know how why you feel the NFF should not assist. The agent is already fighting and assisting. NFF should show concern and responsibility to a maltreated player.

Iwobi, Iheanacho & Musa: Nigeria’s re-emergence as a hotbed for young talent
By Jeorge Bird

There have been some impressive Nigerian players in the past – Jay-Jay Okocha and Nwankwo Kanu immediately springto mind – but now the Super Eagles are laying the foundations for an incredibly bright future.

It has been difficult to avoid the Nigerian influence in the Premier League this season, with Odion Ighalo scoring freely for Watford, while John Obi Mikel has recently re-established himself as a reliable performer at the base of Chelsea’s midfield.

But it is looking at the country’s prospects for the future that there is most excitement.

Two of Nigeria’s biggest starlets have been on the fringes of proceedings for Manchester City and Arsenal respectively this season, with Kelechi Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi both highly regarded by both club and country.

Kelechi Iheanacho has registered a 60% shot accuracy in the Premier League this season, scoring twice in the process.

Both players have already made their senior debuts for Nigeria, but it is at club level where they have made the most significant impact.

Last Saturday seemed to be a pivotal day in the careers of both starlets. While Iheanacho was enhancing his rapidly growing reputation by scoring a hat-trick for City against Aston Villa in the FA Cup, Iwobi, in his new position of central-midfield, was producing a terrific performance for Arsenal against Burnley in the same competition.

City have so much faith in Iheanacho’s ability that they elected not to sign an additional forward during the January transfer window, with the prospect, who has an average shot accuracy of 60% in the Premier League this season, considered by manager Manuel Pellegrini to be good enough to make a substantial impact at the highest level of the game despite his lack of experience.

Alex Iwobi has won 100% of his duels in the Premier League this season.

Iwobi, meanwhile, has been racking up the minutes for Arsenal and has made four Premier League appearances so far, registering an average pass accuracy of 90%.

An intriguing prospect, he rose through the ranks as a winger but has adapted seamlessly to playing in central-midfield and is likely to be loaned out at some point next season.

Iwobi is likely to be joined by two more talented young Nigerians at Arsenal soon, with Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze set to seal moves to the club.

The pair, an attacking midfielder and left winger respectively, shone as Nigeria won the U17 World Cup last year and are seen as being the tip of the iceberg with regards to the country’s ever-growing list of talents for the future.

Ahmed Musa has a shot accuracy of 54% in the Russian Premier League.

During the recent transfer window, CSKA Moscow forward Ahmed Musa was linked with several major clubs, with the 23-year-old having made a considerable impact for the Russian team.

Musa is already the captain of the Nigeria national team and seems set for a move to a more high-profile side in the not too distant future.

There is a growing body of evidence to suggest that Nigeria are making excellent progress in their youth development. But the most encouraging aspect is that these players are highly regarded by English clubs, who aren’t afraid to provide the prospects with an opportunity to impress.

It will take much more work to transform Nigeria into a nation that is capable of competing for honours on the world stage, but the Super Eagles are certainly moving in the right direction, with the future of their national side looking very bright indeed.

No Iheanacho Magic As Leicester Stun Man City

By Izuchukwu Okosi:
Kelechi Iheanacho played for 38 minutes on Saturday but was unable to produce any magic as Manchester City were humiliated by Premier League fairy tale Leicester City at the Etihad Stadium who won the potential title decider between the first and second teams in the Premier League table 3-1.

The former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles star came off the bench in the 52nd minute in place of Fabian Delph and was involved in the few chances City created at the opposition half.

Robert Huth scored the Foxes’ first goal in the third minute of the game when he slid home the ball from a freekick, Nicolas Otamendi who was marking the towering defender unable to save Manchester City.

Leicester had three more close chances in the first half through Jamie Vardy (twice) and Shinji Okazaki.

City had their penalty claim overruled when Pablo Zabaleta was fouled just outside the box.

Rihad Mahrez made it 2-0 three minutes into the second half with a sublime piece of skill, while Huth from another setpiece, this time from a corner, made it 3-0 when his looping header beat a stranded Joe Hart in the 60th minute.

Vardy hit the side net with 10 minutes to go but Sergio Aguero reduced the deficit to 3-1 when he guided the ball into the net with a glancing header in the 87th minute.

The Argentine was even presented with a chance to score again but after rounding Jasper Schmeichel in Leicester City goal, blasted the ball wide.

The Foxes are now six points clear in the Premier League table.

They have not asked for help and normally these cases are handled by agents and lawyers because that is what they are paid for. There are so many real reasons to be angry at the nff but this just sounds petty.

It is time for Pellegrini to put more faith in Nacho. I do not have a problem if Pels wants Nacho on the bench for the senior players. But, now we play better when Nacho is on the field and with De Bruyne out, Man City are weaker without Nacho.

It was clear in today's game. We played better when Nacho came on. So why does Pellegrini persist with leaving Nacho on the bench. Aguero also performs better when Iheanacho is on the field. Iheancho's style of play gives Aguero more room to shine.

Is it petty or you do not understand the gravity of what is going on between Emem and Esperance?

Is the Club season his passport and preventing him from traveling petty? Or, is the club forcing him to go and play in a country and league, where he does not want to go to petty?

What is petty? When Oliseh gave Iwobi call up to secure the boy for the U23 Olympic side, do you think Oliseh was obligated to do it? He did it for the young man's international career.

The case is too serious for you to tag it petty.

The team has all players passports, thwy dont want him so thwy want to sell him apperantly he did something at a night club.

It is petty that u are blaming the nff for this situation they do enough wrongs for u to go searching. Iwobi was invited for the good of Nigerian football so i dont get ur reasoning, he could have been at the euro's if he had waited.

Where did I blame the NFF for the situation? Are you just making up things that comes to you? I said the NFF should help him get out of the modern day slavery. Is that blaming the NFF to you?

The club officials seized his passport and prevented him from traveling to see his family during an international break because they want to force him to a club against his wish.

He had a disciplinary issue. That does not give the club the right to treat Emem as a slave.

Esperance is wrong here. I have not blamed the NFF. I said, they should assist a player out of a terrible and heartless situation. They young man can not cope with the lifestyle of Tunisia. Is it Saudi Arabia he would cope with?
