Thanks for your input. I am already studying MIS, which is not so popular like electrical. More than 90% of US Colleges offer electrical engineering, i have an electrical background and I am open to switch to electrical if i get funding there.
Again, I switched school because i didn't like the course i was offered at UALR and the school had no funding for a 5-year Phd program.
My course adviser said i will only be eligible to apply for GA after 2 semesters. I don't see myself surviving for 2 semesters without funding.

MIS is even more lucrative than electrical. Anything computer is lucrative here. The world is about computer now. In fact obama is trying to introduce code writing to elementary pupils

You took the words right out of my mouth...MIS is very very lucrative right now. That's what i'm doing at Northern Illinois University and if you check our on campus job site, about 50% ask for MIS graduate students. I have so many classmates that have bsc engineering. If you are interested in my school you can check it out. FYI you won't get assistantship within the MIS dept unless you register for SAP TERP 10 certification but you can always get assistantship in other offices on campus. That's how I got mine.

Please who knows if TAMU at Kingsville Environmental engineering MSc requires LOR, I really have to know before I pay for their application. Their application is quite different and I have not gotten any response from the department.

I think they require LORS. I sent in 2.....check their website the info is there.

As for contacting them. I think it would be better you call. That's more effective.

Please what can an intending applicant take to the interview if his school does not issue transcript to its students by hand but only officially transcript to foreign universities for evaluation

hello house. i applied for 3schools in usa, 2unis and a community college and i hve their admission letters and 1-20. i intend going to the community college. but i just want to use the university 1-20 so they wont deny me visa. now my questions are

1: if i gt to usa, shld i go to the community colege state and start college and just forgt about the uni. hope there wont be any problem.
2.do the v.o's knows the school youve applied for already, cause they always ask the numbers of schools you applied for, can i say just the university and not tell d v.o i also chosed a community college or i shld tell the truth

The VO will not ask for your transcript. However, try to hold the evaluation report you got from the company that evaluated your transcript.

There's one school which will offer you a pretty good scholarship even without GRE but can't remember the name of the school now. Will ask my nigga.

why not look at Missouri S & T, there is a renowned Nigerian professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering and apart from that its the most funded department( Boeing & CAT study stations) in the school you can research, you can always start from the "low-key" towns wink

Forget about canadian schools cuz most of them, their application deadline (feb 1st) has passed. Anyways for your budget, its admirable you saved that much but you should work towards funding. cuz you will need to show more than that before I-20 collection. check the pages on this thread someone posted list of schools with really decent tuition. Anyways I got a couple for you: 1) California State University LA (Informational System MS), 2)Texas state uni (Technology mgt, Comp Sci) 3)Minnesota State Uni, Mankato (Information Tech), 4) Concordia Uni 5) Minot State Uni. check these schools, check their funding and also try to apply before the deadlines

morning guys, just joined nairaland officially today though have been a bit part reader 'cos of work and other time consuming activities....please i need a kind and honest response with reasonable suggestions....i have tried my best and i have saved up 3 million naira will this be enough for tuition ONLY in schools in USA or Canada........if No i should be looking at minimum of how much? otherwise any kind hearted person can suggest a good affordable school

Anyone Looking to do transcript evaluation should use IERF. from my experience and my opinion, they are very good (better than WES). And their evaluation too is really professional. they have a specific timeframe and they sick to it. So if your school doesn't specifically mention WES or any type of evaluation service, use IERF. they are really good. And also I think your evaluated score depends on your university and the courses you took. So if you have a low gpa (not really low), dont give up!. you can still give it a shot coupled with standardized tests. my gpa of 2.93/5.0 came out 3.01/4. Goodluck Guys

Hello Guys,
Please advice me on this. I got my F1 Visa in December but was unable to travel and the school said I can come in Summer.. But I am not sure I want to go in summer. Whats the probability of getting the Visa if I re-appear again in fall since my current Visa would have expired by August.

Please Urgent !

Certainly but students do survive actually even in DC. Truly, it depends on your plans though.
