Okay let me report myself.
Because my hospital is closer to my in-law's place and my mil is a midwife, 40years experience, she'll be able to monitor me during this last stage of pregnancy.
So today, she called me that her grandnephew of 14years o, I shouldn't be calling him by his name but brother xx. I thought she was joking and told her I can't that my uncles' wives call me by name.
She was furious that I dared question her authority and how could I refer to my family when brideprice was paid.
In the heat it all, dh came to visit me and he took side with me. Then mil called fil to start coming home immediately. When fil was told about everything, he said such culture is not practised again that the urgent call made him scared that something bad had happened to me who's 34weeks pregnant and have miscarriage history.
Thank God I got full support of dh and fil if not I would have involved my family with a matter that started small but escalated. I'm leaving in-law's place tomorrow. I can't condone mil's attitude towards me after the confrontation. Not in this jet age will any mil dictate to dil what she should do

You're strong! Way to go. Some MIL sometimes forget that they were once DIL.

Birth Story cont'd- I met wt my doc for d usual anc and narrated the events .He decided we have to bring the baby out.he booked me for a scan and CTG for the next day.After scan and CTG was done just to check dt d baby was fine due to the fall ,i was admitted and by 12.30 midnite (thursday 21st) he started the process of cervical dilation.At 7.30 via VE i was dilated by a fingertip.at this point lemme say dt I dread VE more dn labour itself kai.I can shout o
At 11am or so water broke dn dear Lord, the sweet labour pains strtd.At ds point another VE ,oh no.I was 4cm already.dn i was moved to the delivery suite. At 5pm i was fully dilated but d devil tried to pull a stunt, for wher i no gree.(the anterior lips of d cervix was still there blocking baby's emergence)
Omo i was speaking in tongues calmly and quietly.
Few mins to 6.the ruby lipped little lady emerged after an epi.she was placed on me imnediately aftr a brief clean up

just thank God dt u av a good mother inlaw,do u know dt some motherinlaw will still expect u to do some heavy house chore a day after u were discharged from hospital,after passin tru C/s or VD? They ar only there to bathe baby and watch african magic

dear, i am a yoruba lady and you know how respect is with us. but i must tell you, there are somethings my mum will do that i won't accept so definitely nobody can try that with me. nobody is bashing mil or fil but we shouldn't turn ourselves to slaves cos we married their son. i can imagine a mil asking a woman that just put to bed to make variety of food cos her visitors are coming. or the one that comes and dictates in your matrimonial home how things should run. is that nice?

mind you, you don't have to be rude in passing your message but you must learn to pass it very firmly.
i am one of the lucky few with great mil, she respects herself so much and infact you can hardly know she isn't my mum . despite that there are somethings i don't tolerate cos even my mum will not try them with me.

your own is even youth service, me am in my finals and am 17 weeks pregnant. I just came back to see DH this wkend. It is well anyway.

@ Mitchy am present ooo, na school make me absent on this thread, am always here but I don't comment. I really thank God for my pregnancy, so far I don't have any complain, thou sometimes I have cramps in my lower Tommy but that is all. I get up in the morning eat and attend every lecture... I know am carrying an angelic baby because God has been good to me.
I pray it continues till my delivery day,
happy bumping to all mama's in the house, and safe delivery too to us all. congrats to all the Mama's that has put to bed, may ur babies bring more joy to your homes.

Crossing the 12weeks mark is one milestone in pregnancy -it means our chances of Miscarriage have been reduced by 60percent and in 6months time our LOs will be in our arms! Can this month's run faster

As for MIL's and DIL's palava, trust me we all have stories to tell either good or bad. During my wedding last November it was my mum and my MIL that had a beef. It all started during my trad by September. Am just trying to put all that behind cos the story is too long to write down. The only thing I did was pretend as if I wasn't bothered abt the whole drama that my MIL pulled during that time, so it has made my MIL to be uncomfortable and very careful with me, not like I did anything or talked back at her, it was because I acted like all was well and like nothing happened. But am just watching and trying to study her well before concluding abt her, she is a nice woman but she hurt me.

on the other hand, I understood her because she lost her only daughter who was my agemate in 2012, leaving her with five boys and no girl, So she is just jealous which is natural. But she over did everything and am still trying to figure out why.
I was with her yesterday, and we just talked but we were both not comfortable with each other. I noticed it. I think her conscience is pricking her.

Anyway enough of my epistle. No woman can be like my sweet mother... She is so gentle, that was why my MIL took that as an advantage, not knowing that my mum is gentle but you can't trample on her feet.... my marriage is too young so I can't conclude about my MIL. But thank God my DH knows his mum so well that he does not support any of her wrongdoing...

sorry for the swollen feet, i do not experience that both my previous preggy and this but i heard drinking lots of water helps.


i have started buying things but have not registered ante-natal. have been in a dilemma, the hospital i used for dd have been on strike, i had a bad experience with the private i registered, (my lo was ill an i took her there, only for them to use torch to be searching her vein, they also kept us on the bed without observing us and just collected almost 9k and gave us drug of about 1,500.) that's when i decided to flee. i didn't even attend any anc.
the other govt hospital am contemplating going there this Friday. i just hope God will favor me. so i don't even know what to pack for the hospital yet.

@britneystacy, present ma'am. Ms no dey before sha. But I feel wonderful. I have also crossed d 12th week mark. All glory to God in heaven, nobdy waka, nobdy go solo.
