Hello House, I am travelling first week in march to Atlanta with my 2 kids and mum but having a headache getting accomodation. I will be glad if anyone could be of help getting one. I wouldn't mind sharing as it would afford me having company around me. dsoleye@yahoo.com

Hello everyone, my wife and I are to depart nigeria 2nd week of April and we've contacted oakbend medical centre in houston and got a fairly good package from Dr Ziwortin in terms of fees. Has anyone here ever used him? or could another doctor be recommended with an equally good package?

What good and affordable furnished and secured accommodation could one get not so far apart from intown suites for 1000 USD/per month or less?

how secured and comfortable is intown suites just incase we settle for that?

Finally we have a relative in Dallas and could stay there, Grand Praire to be precise, which would be cheaper to sustain ourselves if we live with her, but can't seem to get a hospital and doctor with similar costs as oakbend medical....

can anyone please help.

Hi, my SIL used Dr z in Nov last year and no complaints from her. I do not have a personal experience though. For oakbend, u can try soul care but u may ve to share kitchen and bathroom wit ur budget.

accommodation in atlanta is an issue to mama's who want to birth as most people who birth in atlanta will say they stayed with family but you can Google search air bnb or extended Stay America in atlanta or travelodge atlanta, i'm sure you'll get something out of the search. Cheers cheers

HI Chicagobound
I am a newbie on this forum - was only recently introduced here. Was wondering if I could PM you for further details on the Houston accommodation options. hubby and I have started comparing all associated costs between elpaso/doctorespati and Oakbend/ Dr F. the "new" place you discovered which is close to the hospital sounds very attractive - I understand you cant share contacts openly. We would be happy if we can get additional tips from you. many thanks. and God bless you.
chicagobound:

To accommodation, please shine your eyes well especially for the seemingly not-so-expensive accommodation that eventually allows you spend more on transportation.....I stayed at a shared apartment with my bathroom n toilet, only shared kitchen and living room, the distance to the clinic was 28-32 mins depending on traffic(in houston, that was far!) I ended up spending the savings I got on accommodation on transportation and even more!

Please take accommodation really close to the clinic like about 10-15mins. I met and kept contacts of some wonderful mothers turned sisters at the clinic who stayed in places like 10-15mins, and really made sense with pickup services(if required)

I don't know if it's fine to put up contacts here, before Justwise raptures my post.

Makes plenty sense, got to know about an accommodation that cost same amount as where I stayed but had so much more attached to the room, free Baby bassinet and carseat, free calls to all US numbers, free pick up and drop-off to clinic up to postnatal, close to my clinic. Everything beautiful, only thing was that she didn't know about NL and all the ladies that use her concierge didn't know too. I already told her about our dear forum and she'll do her advert here so pple can get her contact.
I literally cried when I saw her place when I was almost coming back home. Mtchewwwwww.

Yes she has but with some annoying tale of how she was held for 8hrs completely ignored.

Sadly she was given just two months which is not fair please can she apply for extension without any effect on her future travels.

She will be fine in two months. No need for an extension in my opinion.

I think it is safe to request for an extension bcz no one knws when the baby will actually cme. Plus even if the baby comes early at 38weeks she will be 5weeks gone.3 weeka ia just about enough but ttoo close for comfort.

Id hate for you to have to explain why you overstayed at visa renewal.

But wait o. D officer harsh o. Did she explain she was there to birth a child? Or she claimed vacation?

Answer the question!
Did you claim vacation visit?
Or did you tell them childbirth and show doctors letters and finance available?
You must have done something to call attention to her.

She asked the woman why they were left unattended to for hours I guess that was why they picked on her.

My wife isn't the type that hides sha she spoke out about been kept for 8hrs it was her complain that got the woman to start interviewing them

8 hrs shocked . That is too much. 8 hrs after the long haul flight ? Are these officials at the Houston POE not being heartless? Perhaps they see nothing wrong with her sitting down for 8hrs after a long haul flight. undecided . I guess we should be grateful she was not even sent back under one "section". lipsrsealed

Hmmm. It is well. Id say give it a short. File for extension. Include your doctors details incase thy wnan verify and if shea paid for both hoap and doctor fees, include dat as well.

Show good faith. Let dem see you r not a flight risk.

worry359, you have come to spam this thread again abi...issorai...always sounding harsh as though anyone is obliged to answer you!

danowena, you just opted into this thread without sharing any visa interview story, or how you found a hospital or something! you come here blabbing rubbish and by the way! why did u ave to copy the NIVs...? For your information, it's at the discretion of the CBP officer to grant or refuse you entry into the US ! No matter the length of time someon is held back, you have absolutely no right to question it ! They are only doing their job! #stop spamming this thread if you have nothing to contribute# undecided

Any one in the banking industry should please help verify. Someone I sent to first bank for MONEYGRAM is being told by the cashier that the official rate has been reviewed to 306 over the weekend. I am trying to get clarifications now if he is referring to moneygram rate or CBN official rate. I have not seen anything to the effect that CBN official rate has changed.

Enizo ! Keep calm ! You have no right to complain. They sensed a misrepresentation and that was the reason for the delay.

As for the extension, relax for a bit. Since she's 33wks now, if labor does not come b4 39 wks, let her opt for induction. You can get baby's document within 1wk in Houston. I booked appointment for passport immediately baby was born, picked up birth cert 2days after and got passport same day. She should use ETC instead of visa since time is not on her side
