Yes Anambra is a monolithic state from the pack. Are you ok right now? cool
BeardedMeat:
Abagworo sharaaaap! Which governor in the SE encouraged the influx of these muderers more than ever? Who built mosques for them even in the heart of town? Who encouraged the impunity by these terrorists going on along Douglas rd and Ama awusa? Who imported them to be used to rig elections? Is Okoro awusa no longer the chairman of SE governors? Dont you know that the Uk ordeal with Ipob is still fresh in his mind? Don't you know Roachas will be the first target in the event of breakdown of law and order for importing a terrorist party to Alaigbo? I thought you were wiser than this!
Yyeske:
Your hate for Anambra as usual, were the governors supposed to meet in Enugu to meet the visiting IG of police or Abuja? Anyway, let's leave that for now, Ndigbo need to wake up.

GOVERNOR ROCHAS OKOROCHA APPEALS TO PRESIDENT BUHARI TO INTERVENE ON THE ISSUE OF KILLINGS IN THE SOUTH EAST BY HERDSMEN

Imo state Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has appealed to President Mohammadu Buhari to intervene as a matter of urgency in the repeated killings in the South-East by Herdsmen to forestall future occurrence describing the recent killings in Enugu state as very unfortunate and barbaric.

Governor Okorocha spoke while addressing traditional rulers in the state to take absolute control of security in their various autonomous communities and to also ensure peaceful co-existence between their people and people from other areas living in their midst; adding that what the country needs at the moment is absolute peace.

Governor Okorocha appealed for calm on the part of both Enugu people in particular and the south East in general, expressing optimism that President Buhari would address the unfortunate development.

The governor while addressing the traditional rulers condemned the attack in Enugu saying that the news of the barbaric attack on some of the sons and daughters of Enugu state came to us as a huge shock

He sympathized with the families who lost their beloved ones and appealed for peace in the region, promising that the government within the region is on top of the matter; adding also that the nation cannot afford the wanton killings of innocent lives; stressing that absolute peace was needed to ensure the protection of lives and property.

Governor Okorocha words “this is an important meeting. I want to kindly request all of you to take responsibility of security in your domains to ensure peaceful co-existence between Igbos and other Nigerians living in their areas. ”

He continued, “the killings in Enugu state was inhuman and those behind the killings should be made to face the law. As traditional rulers you are to take charge of security in your autonomous communities. You are now the Chief Security Officers of your communities and you must ensure harmony between your people and others living with them.”

He said, “at this time in the country absolute peace is required.”

Viktor1983:
Every community/neighborhood in Anambra has a state sponsored vigilante outfit, equipped with trucks and shot guns ....These were put in place during Peter obi's tenure... also continued when willie came on board...
The vigilante in the cities are funded by the state and small contributions from locals.
The ones in the villages are strictly handled by the state...Where I live in onitsha( one major street and 8 adjoining lanes) can boast of 25 security men armed with shot guns....
I won't say it's enough but ,we are better off than places who only rely on the police.
You my friend, just like many people have not even taken time to analyze the trend of events before commending whoever. These attacks enjoy the support of Buhari-led government. I dare say that if Peter Obi were still in power, it wont even prevent massacres. In fact, for all states in SE, and the south as a whole, it's just a question of time before we get another bloody attack by Fulani herdsmen... it will hit the news stands, and nothing will happen!!! Have you asked yourself why in all these murders, we have n't had even a single arrest by the security forces of the perpetrators. People sit in the comfort of their homes and blab... use and arm your vigilante! youth no get liver! Governor na sidon look! etc. forgetting that the Nigerian military and police is merely Fulani armed forces, protecting their brother herdsmen.
Until the Igbo unite in their quest for a separate/ independent state, where they will have their own conventional Army, Police, Navy, Airforce et.c. that will man the borders of Igboland, so that even these incursions will now be treated as trans-national conflicts, all these arming of youth, fighting back, IG courtesy, etc. na nonsense!!! If you still don't grasp it, have you for one moment pondered why 80 Agwu youth were rounded up and kept in detention for attempting to ward-off these marauders??

I dont really understand the article which says some governors left for Abuja on different days while a governor did not show up.

Seems like minor details which the writer wants to be one of the major points of the narrative.

These Fulani herdsmen issue (l still refuse to accept they are just herdsmen as l do not see nay Cow running helter-skelter, after each massacre!) can be tackled without injecting tribal hatred into it.
The President must also address the nation on the issue and stop acting like he had not heard of it. It sends out the wrong signal.

The whole of Southern Nigeria must rise in one voice and challenge the Criminals.
Nonsense! You want to see cattle running helter skelter after each massacre even though you have been told that these people come very prepared sometimes at night to masaccre the unsuspecting villagers and afterward retreat into the bush where they came from! You must be one of them.

The worst part of it is that Okorocha is an Hausaman, I do not expect an Obiano to be in a meeting led by an Hausa man whom his people came to Igboland to kill them. The next battle ground will be Imo state and It will be disastrous because there are many Imolites that Okorocha led into Islam in the past 5yrs. It is worrisome to say the least!

Hopeless dunce, how did you verify and found out that they are Anambrans? How are you sure that they are not from Imo state because the last we checked it was Okoroawusa that brought Buhari and his brothers into SE via his Boko Haram party? Okorocha should be held responsible for whatever happens in Igbo land for leading terrorist herdmen into SE.

***Below is what Okoroawusa has been doing in Imo state for the past 6yrs.

Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, has come under intense attack from Imo leaders
for allegedly distributing N2million to Igbo youths who converted to Islam.

However, for Okorocha who allegedly doled out N2m of state funds to support the Muslims converts, his action did
not come as a surprise to watchers. Those who have followed the governor’s leadership since his assumption of
office on 29th May, 2011 will attest to his affinity to Islam in a Christian state. He panders to the wishes and dictates
of Islam even as a Christian faithful.
In an interview with Hallmark, Mike Ahamba (SAN) described Okorocha as a man without a clear vision or
direction in governance.

According to Ahamba “Governor Okorocha’s administration in Imo State so far is likened to a man who never
expected to be a traditional ruler and circumstances made him one, he is not prepared, he lacks direction and
vision. This is the case of Okorocha,” he said.

On the issue of the Okorocha’s alleged moves to Islamized the state, Ahamba said: “I have heard the rumour just
like other patriotic citizens of the state, but if that is true, it will be the Governor’s another impossible mission.
When you look out the designs of most of his projects especially the roundabouts, litany of his trusted allies, the city
gates and the Ecumenical Centre in Government House, you may tend to believe the rumour.”
In his reaction the President Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Imo State Chapter, Bishop Stamford Nworgu,
said, “I see this as an allegation to blackmail the Governor. No leader worth his salt can ever mention Islamic
religion in Imo State considering the dogmatic approach of the people to Christian faith but I know the Governor
has so many Moslem friends and even in other religions.”

Nworgu however re-assured that in case if the rumour turned out to be true, the Christian community in the state
will vehemently resist it, noting that his leadership is carefully watching the Governor and his administration’s
penchant for Muslim activities.

It is not very clear the disposition of Governor Willy Obiano of Anambra State on the issue as he appears to always distance himself from the activities of the South-East governors.
