When you leave the substance and be chasing shadows. Christendom is in trouble indeed.

You're funny. Are you in Mars or what not to be aware of the rampant vices in churches these days? Can you mention your church's name here so we point out their own weaknesses. Oga, no church is left out, i think. For your information, I'm in church to serve God and not any Pastor. If my pastor's teachings are not biblical, i leave such church. I can no longer be brainwashed at this level.

What am i even saying, i should have known you dey chop peppersoup on souls in your church going by your handle "soulpeppersoup"...hahaha

I see your looking for a comic relief. I should tell you my church for you to start picking faults. No one is forcing you to go to church. Don't go to church to pick faults.

Oh oh, so you're one of those who worship pastors? Yes! I'll go on Sunday to know ask him reasons for that..I go to church to serve God and not pastor. It's obvious you're one of those who worship pastors, even if he is a fake one...this is not mockery but reality and it's strange to me and that's why i had to bring it on here. By the way, can you point to where I mentioned his name or my church's name?

Do you want to know the reason I brought it here? To make other pastors on this forum who may want to try it in their churches to know it's wrong to do that and also, to enlighten churchgoers so as not to agree with their pastors if they try it with them tomorrow
My dear you are very childish.

This Happened In My Church Today

Pastor preached about tithing in church today, and after sermon, he asked all salary earners (private and public) to stand.

To my utmost perplexity, he (the Pastor) directed the Secretary to start writing their NAMES and their MONTHLY SALARIES respectively.

Will he start coercing them to pay tithes to him personally based on their monthly salaries or what? Is it compulsory for a Pastor to know his members' salaries? What does he want to do with it?
These are some of the questions that ran through my mind in church then. Till this moment, I seem not to know his intention until next week. I wonder what churches are turning to these days.

Does anyone have an idea of what he will likely do with their names and monthly salaries?

to double it wit miracle grin

Hebrews 7 Vs 8- end doesn't say anything about compulsion to pay tithe. It talks about the Old Testament law and it being changes after Jesus. Bro read ya Bible wella. Helping the needy and widows comes first for me cos thru this they will love Jesus Christ more.

Picking faults? Are you telling me if your Pastor beheads someone in church, you can't ask in public or you won't report him to the necessary authority?
Well, my reason for posting about it is to let some Pastors know that not all church members can be brainwashed. I believe any Pastor who sees this post today will be cautious of trying it with his congregation. If i said this was done by a haberlist in a shrine, would you have condemned it. Sir, let's not harbour pastors too, and this will deter others from such act and they will be cautious in making money at the expense of people's suffering. A brother in that church has not collected 4 months salary and pastor complains of non-payment of tithes when he doesn't even know what to eat the coming weeks.

If you see any news about others (politicians, boko haram, herdsmen, herbalists, Tiwa, Psquare), they are good but posts about pastors are condemned even when they do wrong...hmmm..na wah o

Tithe is a special platform that God has ordained or reserved for our Financial Fortune but it takes who God has open his/her inner eye to see and walk in the platform! God doesn't need tithe neither does the pst do but individuals that are paying it needs it to provokes God's blessings upon their lives........once your pst make them see the realm they are expected to walk with God the DRAMA earlier in your church was not needed!

Do you see how demonic doctrines make you blaspheme? Are you saying that those who do not pay tithes do not receive God's blessings?

Go and study Hebrew 7:8-28

Thank you for referring to this section of the Bible. Let us analyze it.

Verse 9 reminds us of how Levitical priests received and paid tithes. Verse 11 confirms that tithing was a feature of the now rested Law Covenant. Verses 12 & 18 say that since the priesthood is being changed (from Aaron and the Levites to Christ), that the law Covenant is being changed as well. Verses 22 - 25, 27 say that the new high priest, Jesus will guarantee a better covenant than the Mosaic covenant including the law of tithing.

Question now is: Are we under the Law of Moses? No (Luke 24:44; Galatians 6:2). Are we under the Law Covenant which included tithes? No (Romans 6:14; 7:6). Christ is the end of the Law Covenant (Jeremiah 31:31-34; Galatians 3:13;Romans 10:4; Ephesians 2:15).

Galatians 4:9-11 and Colossians 2:16 advises us that now that We have come to know God..., why should we be turning back to slave for things like tithe, observance of seasons and special days, Sabbath all of which are shadows of the reality, Christ.

Please keep making sure of what is acceptable to the Lord (Ephesians 5:10,11)

The Bible verse they'll never mention while preaching about tithe
Deuteronomy 14: from 22
Well, for me, tithe should be given to those who need them, the needy. I'm not sure it was written in the above verses that tithes should be given to pastors to do whatsoever they want. #MyPoinOfView

You are here defending yourself already Sir. God should punish me if it didn't happen in my church today. Don't worry, I'll ask him next week, I was so angry today that I left church immediately after service.

You should be shame of yourself ridiculing your church and pastor. Openly here when you could have found out facts First. So what do you do next week or if you find out the intention is not what you projected here , apologize?

You're definitely one of those brainwashed folks, Sir. So, if we see any wrong thing happening in church, it's not worthy of discussion? I know you would be the first person to condemn the act if it happened in a shrine or mosque, hypocrite you are! Whatever the intention is, I've come to a conclusion that it's very wrong and should be condemned to discourage Pastors like you who may want to follow suit in their churches. Do you know how long time members felt in church yesterday? Let alone a first timer. If i were a first timer, I would have waived the church byebye immediately. Let's learn to always call a spade a spade, noone is above the law

Why did you start from verse 9 as against verse 8 I asked you to start from. You deliberately did that to beguile your followers. This show you are out to fight God and not to learn. Anytime your ready to know the truth about tithe start from verse 8

People need to be enlightened. If you feel your pastor has overstepped his bounds while not name the church and branch?
No need covering up such exploitation.
Until you give a name and address, I put it to you that your write up is just one big interesting "fabu" grin

My beloved, it is not every verse of the Bible that clarify main points under discussion.

In any case I am happy that Pushkin has kindly answered you before I did. She recommended that you start reading your Bible because as of now, it seems you don't.
