I just love the Hind, especially the MI-35M or an upgraded Hind. In my opinion the Hind has to be the greatest helicopter of all time. A tank juiced with steroids that can fly.

How many Hinds does Algeria have in service.

there is between 40 and 44 super hind in service now , were upgraded to mi24 MKIII ATE version , but they will retire little by little when all mi28 NE will be in service

modernized South African company Advanced Technologies and Engineering (ATE) upgrade mkIII with new night operational capability , a duel feed 20mm turreted cannon, laser beam rider tandem warhead anti-armour missile, bombing functions integrated to the main stabilised sight and improved self protection. the integration of cockpit improvements and upgraded ground attack and self-defence capabilities. Digital enhancement of detection, recording, navigation, sighting, control, armament and armament delivery provide the SUPERHIND MK3 with a significant increase in operational capability and utilisation.
removing 2t of mass from the aircraft and integrating a digital glass cockpit, which will give the helicopter a Nap-Of-The-Earth (NOE) capability whilst maintaining its firepower. A new cockpit-layout will provide unsurpassed visibility.

they got a new upgrade in ukraine (Aviakon society) last year also .

Nigeria keeps siezing dane guns and ied materials. .....and killing 1 2 or 3 bht........you see lots of vehicles and signs that lots of people were staying in that location ........are the army chaps letting bht escape?

Hundreds of bht attacked an army camp in niger.... successfully.......are we backin up the wrong tree or searching the wrong places..... or officers are intentionally not attacking strong bht areas..... leaves me perplexed

Very possible that they have moved their heavier stuff and frontline cadre across the border into Niger or chad.

BH as a force is not concentrated in one place. As with all terror cells, they act independently and only take singular orders from the head. The head is inside Sambisa. The cells in Yobe, Niger and the sleeping cells around the country yet to be taken out are as effective.
Kudos to the DSS for bursting the matured cell in Kogi state. The cell in Yobe that carried out the last raid left plenty trails I believe.

OFF TOPIC (JUST THOUGHT I SHOULD SHARE THESE... angry)

A member of the Chopping Committee of ISIS, popularly known as “The Bulldozer” has reportedly been captured by the Syrian Army. The masked Jihadist, who is usually dressed in black is responsible for several executions in the horrific ISIS videos. He was pictured lying half naked and writhing in pain on a truck that was driven by the Syrian troops.

Last month, ISIS published pictures of the Bulldozer beheading two suspected blasphemers in front of hundreds of men and young boys. Images show the terrorist leaping into the air before bringing the large sword crashing down onto the neck of his helpless victims. In a final picture, the bloody corpses of the headless men strewn across the courtyard as his fellow terrorists disperse the gathered crowds.

First seen in Iraq, here are some things you probably didn’t know about “The Bulldozer”
How he got the nickname “Bulldozer”
In 2014, the ISIS executioner who weighs 127kg was pictured carrying a five foot long Browning machine gun which weighs 52kg. It was an unusual sight as the weapon which has been described as an anti-aircraft gun is usually mounted on fixed structures. He was immediately given the nickname after the release of this picture.First seen in Iraq, here are some things you probably didn’t know about “The Bulldozer”

His butchering kit
The Bulldozer has a range of tools for performing his duty. He has been recorded executing his victims with a three foot blade, a large piece of rock and a knife. Last month, in footage titled “Crush Your Enemies,” Bulldozer hacks off the head of one prisoner with a knife, before placing the severed head on the corpse’s back. A second soldier was tied to a chair and repeatedly shot, while a third was murdered by having a large boulder dropped on his head.

His identity
Suspected to be an Iranian national, the Bulldozer’s real name is Mohammed Emwazi. Last year, he chopped off the hand and foot of a 14 –year old Syrian boy for refusing to join ISIS. He was also responsible for the execution of a 15-year old boy, whose only offence was listening to Western pop music.

Nigeria Army confirms sack of Generals, other top officers

At least 12 senior officers of the Nigerian Army, including Generals, have been sacked over alleged involvement in the Ekiti governorship election scandal and defence contract related offences, an official statement said Saturday.
Although the Army failed to disclose names and number of the affected officers, it was on record that more than a dozen top officers were handed over to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for investigation over alleged defence procurement fraud.
Some others were probed for alleged misconduct during the last general elections.
The decision to sack the officers was reached following a meeting of army council on Thursday, the statement said.
“The Nigerian Army wishes to inform the general public that quite a number of senior officers of the Nigerian Army were retired from service yesterday,” said Army Director of Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman.
“Those retired were mainly some Major Generals, Brigadier Generals, Colonels, Lieutenant Colonels and a Major.
“Their retirement was based on Service exigencies. It should be recalled that not too long ago some officers were investigated for being partisan during the 2015 General Elections.
“Similarly, the investigation by the Presidential Committee investigating Defence Contracts revealed a lot.

“Some officers have already been arraigned in court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). People should therefore not read this out of context.
“The military must remain apolitical and professional at all times.
“We must applaud and support this laudable and bold initiative by the government”.
The Army had last year sent 12 Army officers to the EFCC for investigation.
Mr. Usman had in a statement issued last year said the indicted officers comprised three serving Major-Generals, one retired Major-General, three Brigadier-Generals, four Colonels and a Lieutenant Colonel.
