better electricity, no security problem, good transport links, peaceful and good biz opps

but Nigeria is still better ? undecided

there must be a big factor
Reason is I still like my country no place like home.they are not friendly.no good food to buy...electricity,transport links are very expensive...from xtian village to legon campus is 1cedis 60p (135naira) less than 6km.you can have all that but still not happy.cedis might sound small but d purchasing power is very low.for the fact that dollars is high in Nigeria things are still cheap in Nigeria compare to Ghana.i know what ma saying ...i earn dollars because am on scholarship for post-graduate program....business opportunity is avalable because they have loopholes in dia market system which is an advantage if you look in ward.mind you one needs to b innovative and creative to see dose opportunities.

Though i had love to see you here in France but nevertheless ghana is like sayin running from fry pan to fire
Venzal:
Hello guys,

With the current situation of things in the country, I am thinking of shifting base to Ghana for now and watch how things pan out.

I have some questions I'd love travel experts in the house to help me tackle (if you currently leave in Ghana, all the better for me)

1. What documents will I be in need of in the course of this travel.

2. What's the estimated rate for getting good accommodation in Accra - like for over a six month period?

3. We have heard a lot about the power situation over there... is it really all that stable? (because I am into internet marketing).

4. How friendly and peaceful are the folks over there? (very essential as I no like 'kata kata' any day grin)

Please I'd love people familiar with life in Accra, Ghana to drop as much details as possible, so I can make an informed decision and know how to prepare myself. I'd be really grateful for your valued input.

God bless in anticipation.

P.S. Please no snide remarks/comments on this thread, please. Thanks

WHAT DID YOU WANT TO DO IN GHANA?

GHANAINS DON'T LOVE... NIGERIA PEEPS

MOST OF THIER " I LOVE YOU" IS JUST LIPS SERVICE.

MOST GHANAINS PRISON ARE FILLED WITH NIGERIANS.

THE FUNNIEST ASPECT IS THAT .... GHANAINS DON'T GIVE NIGERIANS..... LIGHT SENTENCE.... YOU CAN GET UP 250 TO 500 JAIL TERMS.
If you indulge in activities like the other criminals. You will end up receiving a similar sentence. Smh

I understand what you are saying because the patriotic factor will always be there but people saying this is expensive, that is expensive

Compared to Nigeria, many countries with 'stable' electricity, decent broadband, good transportation links, better security will be more expensive especially if you are comparing the Naira for every item

Quality of life and Cost of living are usually interdependent

What they didn't tell you is that feeding in Ghana is hellish. Trust me, you will remember your homeland. A can of Amstel Malt is 4 Ghana Cedis, can you beat that?. Bathroom slippers is 4 Ghana Cedis, Big Eva Bottle water is 2.5 Ghana Cedis. I can list it on and on. Ghana is not what it used to be, things has changed. I don't like Ghana and I mean no insult. Nigeria economy is still very much prettier than that of Ghana. The only country you can compare Nigeria with in Africa is South Africa and I stand to be corrected and open to be instructed. Just prepare to eat their Okra soup with Tilapia fish, Palm nut soup, Kenke, Banku, Tuna fish, etc. O boy, naija food cost wella. You go miss home die, couple with the sun eh! Kwame and Nana go use you eat their breakfast in the morning, even Kojo and Mensa go do fake resident permit for you if you wan open bank account there. Naija boys don spoil GH. Beg no go Circle, Osun, Kole Gono, Labaddin beach, Adabraka, etc for night oo! Achama is a dangerous place for a cool headed guy like you. Let me greet you in a Phanti language, "Akwaaba!".

It is absolutely and completely wrong for you to even begin to say in Africa, South Africa is the only country you can compare with Nigeria.....false.

There's no comparisons between the two....SA is miles ahead of everyone on the continent....simple.

Why not go to South Africa if you make that amount in a month and enjoy your life. Stable light, good road, good weather (no heat), quiet environment etc. South Africa is better if you have stable source of income to live in the city.

Yes you need to understand the language but if I tell you that you wont believe the mammoth number of Nigerians living in Benin republic and Togo . When I went to Gabon in 1997 ,I was shocked at the large population of Nigerians living there ,the Ibo even dominated a whole big market and they were speaking French fully
all these countries have gone beyond the level of erratic power supply and co,Nigeria seems to be the only country in the world left with this problem. Business wise ,you have to give it to the ibos ,they are calling the shots in all these countries ,these are peole that wont even go to America even if you give them free visa and ticket.
The bitter truth about the Nigeria situation and which I always tell ppl is "when survival becomes difficult, achievement becomes impossible" onatisi, therefore it is good to be in a place where survival is easy

Light is good here in Accra but the bill is expensive.

Accommodation is reasonably cheap if you earn in Cedi. It also depend on area.

Ghanians are friendly. Lot of girls..

Good road, reasonable security level.

And lastly, the sun is hot here..
wow do you know what I love about your post is the lot of girls you mentioned above, maybe I will also relocate to Ghana..

How much are they paying for school fee. Cos I want to come and study over there.

And the names of their University's

Thanks God bless

Wow lot of girls!!!

Ehen... This is the kind of thread I'm talking about... create threads about reasonable things, not threads about trivial nonsense telling us where Wizkid was yesterday, what your sister took as breakfast, whom Banky W kissed a few hours ago, what olamide is doing in his mansion, the size of the rat you killed in the morning, and all sorts of woo woo that bring no one any benefits at all... Even though I can't make any contributions due to my very limited knowledge about Ghana, at least I've become a little bit more informed... and not only the OP... Others can also get useful information from the thread.

....kkkkkkkkl.o boy don't tell me you klicks on those woo woo threads
what are gonna learn there?

You were spot on with a couple of that. You into info marketing?

Let me guess, as a marketer, the limit of international spending on cards monthly is a nuisance.

Also, the horrible payoneer exchange rate.

Also , a Nigerian address can scare off buyers. I use Britain in my autoresponder.
